する郵便物の方向変換機構において、互いに逆方
向に回転する一対の第一の搬送ベルト対に郵便物
を挾持して第１の方向に搬送するとともに、搬送
される郵便物の搬送末端を検知する末端検知器を
備えた第１の搬送機構と、互いに逆方向かつ前記
第１の搬送機構とは逆方向に回転し前記第１の搬
送機構によつて搬送された郵便物を介入させるの
に十分な間隙を有する一対の第２の搬送ベルト対
と、前記第２の搬送ベルト対に介入した郵便物を
前記末端検知器による搬送末端検知の一定時間後
に前記第２の搬送ベルト対間に圧着する複数の転
てつ器とを備えた第２の搬送機構とを有すること
