DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION <Industrial Application Field> The present invention relates to improvements in medical catheters, particularly ureteral catheters inserted into the bladder via the urethra.

<Prior Art> Rubber or plastic ureteral catheters are used to drain urine from patients with symptoms such as difficulty in urination and urinary incontinence, or patients after surgery.

When this ureteral catheter is inserted into the urethra or during use, it comes into contact with the anus, genitals, etc., and often introduces bacteria attached thereto into the bladder, causing cystitis. In particular, women are more likely to be infected with this bacteria because their urethra is thicker, shorter, and straighter than men's.

In order to prevent these bacteria from entering the bladder, conventional methods have included covering the tubular body of the catheter with a sterile metal ring or coil (see Japanese Patent Publication No. 14876/1987), or using lubricants containing antibiotics or bactericidal agents. A type of agent (ointment or grease) was applied.

However, in the above-mentioned method of attaching a metal ring or coil, the metal ring etc. are thick, so the thickness of the tubular body portion of the catheter is increased, which increases the pain during insertion into the patient. In addition, it is extremely difficult to fix a metal ring or the like in a predetermined position on the tubular body portion of the catheter. In addition, in the latter method of applying drugs, the surface of the tubular body of the catheter is smoothed to reduce the insertion force during insertion, and the drug easily falls off the surface of the tubular body. However, there was a drawback that the infection prevention effect was not as high as expected. Furthermore, as the catheter is inserted deeper into the body, the applied drug falls off from the tip, causing the catheter to lose its lubricity and gradually causing pain to the patient.

<Problems to be Solved by the Invention> The present invention solves the problems of conventional catheters as described above, and provides a catheter that does not cause pain to the patient and maintains its infection prevention effect for a long period of time. With the goal.

Means for Solving the Problems> In order to achieve the above object, the present invention provides (1) an inlet opening at one end of a relatively flexible tubular body made of rubber or plastic, and an outlet opening at the other end. (2) In the catheter, a metal layer having a crack is provided in a part of the tubular body of the catheter, and (2) in the catheter, a drug such as a sterilizing agent or a bactericidal agent is infiltrated into the crack formed in the metal layer. (3) In the catheter described in (1) above, a lubricant is infiltrated into the cracks formed in the metal layer; (4) In the catheter described in (1) above, , characterized in that a chemical and a lubricant are infiltrated into the cracks formed in the metal layer.

<Function> By providing a metal layer on a part of the catheter tubular body by a chemical or physical method such as plating or vapor deposition, it can be coated very thinly, so that the thickness of the catheter tubular body becomes thick. Since the metal layer is not cracked and its flexibility is not impaired, the catheter does not cause any more pain to the patient than conventional catheters.

Furthermore, the present invention makes it possible to infiltrate and retain ointments or greases containing antibiotics or bactericidal agents into cracks in the metal layer applied to the catheter tubular body, and in some cases, lubricants may also be used. Because it can be penetrated, the drug will not fall out due to friction or deformation when inserted into the urethra.
Even when inserted into the urethra, the drug is retained in the cracks in the metal layer, preventing bacterial infection.

Furthermore, even when the catheter is inserted deep into the urethra, lubricating agents and the like continue to be retained at the tip of the catheter, making it possible to insert the catheter without causing pain to the patient.
