うとすれば、大容量の記憶装置を必要とするという点で
ある。

従来のティンテッドイメージ表示装置では、表示したい
ティンテッドイメージの文字なり記号なりは、全て１つ
１つ予め作成して、フォントファイル２の中に格納して
おかなければならない。

ドイメージを用意することが考えられるが、種々の文字
や記号に対しても同様に用意しようとすると、その数は

ーションのティンテッドイメージを１つ１つ記憶してお
かなければならないから、ティンテッドイメージを豊富
に揃えようとすれば、記憶装置として大容量の記憶装置
を必要とする。
本発明は、以上のような問題点を解決することを課題と
するものである。

同じフォントとパターンを重ねるにしても、ずらす量を
少しづつ変えて重ねると、異なったティンテッドイメー
ジの文字が得られる。従って、１組のフォントとパター
ンを使うだけでも、理論的には無限の種類のティンテッ
ドイメージの文字が得られることになる。
第４図は、ティンテンドイメージの線の例を示す図であ
る。第４図（イ）は線のフォントであり、第４図（ロ）
はパターンである。これらを重ね合わセでＡＮＤを取る
ことによって、第４図（ハ）のような線が得られる。
第５図は、パターンをシェーディングとして活用した例
