[Detailed explanation of the invention] Background of the invention (technical field) This invention is an injection plug (for liquid injection) that can temporarily block the opening of an indwelling needle, catheter, etc., and can directly inject medicine, etc. (Plug)

(Prior art) When performing anesthesia, infusion, blood pressure measurement, etc.
Patients may be moved within or between hospitals, which often interrupts their procedures. In such cases, it is often necessary to secure a vein with an indwelling needle or catheter left in the patient's vein.
In this case, the conventional method has been to fit a plug covered with puncturing rubber or a plug with rubber pressed into the proximal end fitting portion of the indwelling needle.

(Problems with the prior art) However, in such conventional plugs, if the rubber is made of a soft material that is easy to puncture with a needle and has good sealing properties, it will not be possible to obtain the fitting force when capping or pushing the plug into the plug body. When the rubber that has been pushed in is pulled out, it may fall out along with the needle, or leakage may occur from the gap between the rubber and the plug.Furthermore, if the rubber is thickened to improve sealing performance, punctures may occur. There were some problems, such as making it difficult to use. Conversely, if the rubber is made of a hard material in order to increase the fitting force, it becomes difficult to puncture, and if the thickness of the puncture site is made thin, there are problems such as leakage from the puncture site. In addition, there were other problems such as increased manufacturing costs.

In other words, this device consists of a cylindrical elastic body that is integrally molded as a whole, and the proximal end is closed, making it easy to puncture an injection needle and preventing leakage from the punctured part when the needle is removed. The injection plug is characterized by comprising: a main body portion having an outer diameter and length that can be easily grasped with fingers; and a distal end portion having an open tip and a male tapered fitting portion. The present invention is also an injection plug characterized in that the cylindrical elastic body is made of a thermoplastic elastomer.

Specific explanation of the invention This invention will be explained below with reference to the drawings. 1st
The figure shows an injection plug according to the present invention, and FIG. 2 is a sectional view thereof. The injection plug of the present invention is made of an elastic material such as synthetic rubber, natural rubber, or thermoplastic elastomer and is formed into an elongated cylindrical shape as shown in the figure. The proximal end is closed and has self-sealing properties. In other words, it constitutes a needle puncture site 8 which can be punctured with a needle such as a hypodermic needle, and when the needle is withdrawn, the punctured part can be closed and become liquid-tight. As shown in FIG. 2, a fitting portion 4 having a small outer diameter and having a tapered male shape, for example, a so-called Luer taper shape, is used for fitting with the indwelling needle 6.
The main body part 2 has a sufficient outer diameter and length so that it can be grasped with a fingertip. The outer diameter is preferably approximately the same diameter as the fitting portion of the indwelling needle or the like to be connected, and the length is preferably 7 mm to 15 mm.

The wall thickness of this needle puncture site 8 is appropriately determined depending on the material of which the plug body 2 is made, but it must be sufficient to withstand needle puncture and ensure self-sealing properties. The entire plug is injection molded or compression molded, and as shown in the figure, the outer peripheral surface is a flat surface with as few steps and protrusions as possible to minimize irritation to the skin when fixed to the skin surface, and is integrated into a shape that is easy to hold with fingers. Molding is preferred.

Effects of the invention The injection plug having such a structure can be used as a temporary stopper for an indwelling intravenous needle, or as a mixed injection port for a liquid such as a drug to inject a liquid such as a drug through the needle puncture site. A three-way stopcock, an infusion or blood transfusion set, a catheter stopper such as an argent tube, or heparinized saline,
It can be used as a stopper with a mixed injection port for injecting infusion solutions, etc., which is easy to put on and take off, and which does not cause pain to the patient during use. Furthermore, when the material is a thermoplastic elastomer, it has good self-sealing properties and is particularly suitable for molding a plug with a single material.

As explained above, the injection plug according to the present invention can be made entirely by integral molding, so there is no need for post-processing, it is easy to handle during use, and it does not have the problem of falling off like the conventional rubber cap. There is no fear, the sealing performance is good, it is easy to grip with fingers, and manufacturing costs can be reduced.
