The present invention relates to an anti-caries agent, an oral composition, an anti-caries food and drink, and the like. Streptococcus, the main caries-causing bacterium.
Several antibacterial substances against Streptococcus mutans, including various bacteriolisins, have already been proposed, but their side effects, such as their effects on intestinal bacteria, are virtually unknown, and they cannot be used on a daily basis. However, these materials have not yet been put to practical use because they cannot be guaranteed to be safe. In view of the above, the present inventors conducted extensive research and found that lactic acid bacteria cells derived from healthy human intestinal bacteria or their water extracts have strong antibacterial activity against S. muutans, and that these lactic acid bacteria cells or water extracts are The present invention was achieved based on the finding that oral administration is virtually non-toxic, including the effects on intestinal bacteria. Hereinafter, the types and mycological properties of microorganisms that can be used in the present invention, the preparation of the anti-caries agent, its antibacterial activity, specifications, etc. will be explained in detail. Microorganisms Various microorganisms belonging to the genus Streptococcus or Lactobacillus can be used, especially Streptococcus faecium (Streptococcus faecium).
faecium), Streptococcus equinus, Lactobacillus fermentum, Lactobacillus salivarius
salivarius) etc. can be exemplified as suitable examples.
Here, specific examples of particularly useful bacterial strains in the present invention are shown in Table 1 below, together with the Microtech Institute accession number.

257-269 (1981). That is, as described in the above-mentioned literature, the seeds of a healthy person were smeared onto KMN agar and LBS agar, cultured under aerobic conditions at 37°C for 48 to 72 hours, and the resulting colonies were counted and randomly picked. Catalase-negative, Gram-stain-positive cocci and bacilli were isolated and classified and identified by examining their physiological and biochemical properties. 2 Identification of isolated lactic acid bacteria Selective medium for Streptococcus bacteria: KMN agar medium; selective medium for Lactobacillus bacteria: LBS
Identification was performed based on the shape, Gram stainability, morphology, and physiological and biochemical properties of colonies on agar medium (see Table 2) with reference to the following documents 1 to 5.
