2. Description of the Related Art Various types of media such as optical disks, optical cards, and optical tapes have been known for recording and reproducing information using light. Each of these has its own characteristics and can be used in different ways depending on the purpose and application. Among them, optical cards are easy to manufacture, have good portability, and are easy to access. 3. These optical cards are expected to become more and more popular. In these optical cards, multiple tracking tracks are provided parallel to the long side of the card, and the space between the two tracking tracks is used as an information track for recording information. is common. This tracking track is used as a kite for auto-tracking (AT) to control the optical spot not to deviate from a predetermined information track when scanning a light spot for recording and reproducing information when recording information. Furthermore, in actual recording and reproducing of information, autofocus (AF) is also used to control the light spot to accurately focus on the surface of the recording medium. These AT' and AF are common techniques that have been conventionally used in devices that record and reproduce information using light.

For optical cards, there are two types: one that uses the entire recording capacity of one information track as one sector (in other words, it is not divided into sectors), and one that uses the entire recording capacity of one information track as one sector (in other words, it is not divided into sectors), and one that uses the entire recording capacity of one information track as one sector (in other words, it is not divided into sectors). A device has been devised to be used. In the latter case, as with floppy disks, all tracks must have the same capacity per sector (sector size) and the number of sectors per rack, or all tracks may be logically divided into multiple areas. It is common to divide the area physically or physically and have the same sector size and number of sectors within one area.

Currently, optical cards are of the write-once type where information cannot be erased once recorded. Furthermore, the information recording density of optical recording media is higher than that of floppy disks, etc., and the raw error rate is also poor. Therefore, when recording, a powerful error correction code (FCC) is usually added. Furthermore, after recording the information, the recorded information is reproduced, and a check is made to see if it was recorded correctly (hereinafter referred to as verify), and if an error is found, the recorded information is re-recorded at another location.

As the other location, there are methods that use the next track or sector, and methods that use an alternative area secured in advance at a distant location. In the latter case, it is necessary to separately manage (alternative management) which error track or sector information is recorded in which alternative track or sector.

The CPU 50 provides the MPU10 with a recording command signal and the capacity of information to be recorded. MPU 1
In step 101, O determines whether the amount of information to be recorded from now on is larger or smaller than half of the capacity of one track (512 bytes in this embodiment). If there is less, the process proceeds to step 102; if there is more, the process proceeds to step 103. In step 102, a seek is made to the first track of unrecorded information tracks, that is, a track where recording is to be started, and AT is applied. Next, in step 104, the drive motor 14
is driven to move the optical card in the direction of the arrow in FIG. 6, read track number 7, and if it is the target track, record one track's worth of information. At this time, the information to be recorded is CP
When the information capacity to be recorded is less than the information capacity of one track, the insufficient amount is filled with dummy information. Further, this information is recorded on the optical card and also stored in the RAM of MPU10. Furthermore, in the information actually recorded on the optical card, an FCC is added to the data sent from the MPU 50, and a logical track number LT is added to the beginning of the recorded information.
and file number M are added. If the sought track is not the target track, the seek is retried in step 102. (This process is not shown in Figure 1).

,: Starting from CPU 50! This is determined by comparing the selected information volume I to be recorded with the information volume that has already been recorded since the start of recording. If there is still information to be recorded, the process advances to step 108 and the light spot is moved to the next track. After that, the process returns to step 1.04, but the information recorded in step 104 (A) varies depending on the step executed immediately before step 108. Returning to FIG. 1, in step 111, step 110
It is determined whether the selected sector size is the same as the final recording track. This embodiment allows a plurality of sectors to be arranged on one information track, but does not allow sectors with different sector sizes to be mixed. In addition, as mentioned above, the sector size ST when each information file is recorded is recorded in the directory that manages that file, so the MPU
The sector size of the final recording track can be known from the directory information stored in the RAM of l0. If they are the same, proceed to step 121; if they are different, proceed to step 1.

In step 112, it is determined whether there is any empty space in the final recording track for additional information. As mentioned above, the sector size ST in which the information file is recorded
and sector number SN are recorded in the directory information, and if you know the sector size ST, you can know the number of sectors that can be recorded on one track. By comparing the SNs in the information, it can be determined whether there is empty space on the last track. As a result of the judgment, if there is an empty space, proceed to step 114,
If there is none, the process advances to step 113.

In step 113, the light spot is moved to the next track. If this step is executed, step 11.
This is when the sector size of the final recording track and the selected sector size are different, or when the sector size is the same but there is no empty space, and in either case, it is not possible to record on the final recording track. . Therefore, the light spot is moved to the next track.

In step 114, one sector's worth of information, that is, all the information to be recorded is recorded at once. Similarly to step 104, the drive motor 14 is driven to drive the optical card in the direction of the arrow, the track number is read, and if it is correct, recording is performed. At this time, when recording to the first sector (sector O), recording starts immediately after reading the track number, but if the sector to be recorded is other than sector 0, it is skipped to the desired sector position. , the position of the current L1 optical spot for recording in a desired sector in the track direction can be determined by using the output pulses of the waveform shaping circuit 72 as a reference, based on the position where physical track number 7 has been read.
It can be known by counting lO. That is, once the sector size is determined, the physical position of each sector on the information track is determined, so MPU10 counts the output pulses of the waveform shaping circuit 72 to indicate that the optical spot has reached the desired sector position. Detect and start recording.

When the recording is completed, verification is performed in step 11.5. In this embodiment, the data is not reversed and verified immediately after one sector recording is completed. this is,
This is to simplify control by setting the reversal positions only to both ends of the information track. However, there is no problem with the present invention even if the direction is immediately reversed in the middle of a track after recording one sector. Therefore, in this embodiment, as in step 105, the drive motor 14 is driven in the opposite direction to that during recording to drive the optical card in the direction of arrow F to perform verification. The process of skipping to a desired sector is similar to step 114.

At step 116, it is determined whether the verification result is correct or not. If it is correct, the process proceeds to step 109; if it is incorrect, the process returns to step 112; and if there is an empty space on the same track, re-recording is performed at step 114. If there is no empty space in step 112, the optical spot is moved to the next track in step 113, and re-recording is performed in step 114.

On the other hand, if the process proceeds to step 405 in step 403, the target sector is reproduced in step 405. At this time, as with verification, data is skipped until the target sector is reached. Then, in step 410, an ECC check is performed,
In step 411, it is determined whether the riverbed has been correctly reproduced. When the file can be played back correctly, in the present invention, if the track is divided into sectors, one file is always recorded in one sector, and there is no information left to play after that. Therefore, the playback operation ends. If the data is not reproduced correctly in step 411, the process advances to step 412 to determine whether there are any more sectors on the same track. This can be determined from the sector number SN and sector size ST to be reproduced. If there are more sectors, the process returns to step 405 and plays the next sector; if there are no more sectors, the next track is accessed in step 413, and the first sector of the next track is played in step 405. As described above, steps 405 to 413 are repeated a necessary number of times depending on the situation, and when the data is correctly reproduced, the reproduction operation ends.

As explained above, the information recording method of the present invention changes the sector size according to the amount of information in the information film to be recorded, which makes the recording capacity of the medium more effective. How to use it. , j, and l tracks are divided into two parts and used, one file is always recorded in one sector, and there is no need to divide and record it into multiple sectors. Further, the verinoisle is performed in units of one sector (one no'ile), so that there is no wasted operation or wasted time in the device. Therefore, compared to the conventional information recording method in which one file is divided into a plurality of sectors, the throughput is more uniform. Furthermore, if there is a redundancy operation (5-), it is recorded in ruby in the next sector, so there is no need for alternative management of the sector and information management can be simplified.
