(Prior art) In recent years, there has been a strong demand for lighter and stronger car bodies for automobiles.
Attempts have been made to use FRP (glass fiber reinforced plastic). By the way, in order to manufacture these FRP parts, as disclosed in Japanese Patent Publication No. 54-35232, a method called a prepreg sheet is used, which is made by impregnating glass fiber or the like with a thermosetting resin and forming it into a sheet shape. A commonly used method is to use a raw material and heat press mold it.
First, a laminate of prepreg sheets cut to an appropriate size according to the volume of the product is set on a lower mold, and then this is heated and pressed by an upper mold and a lower mold. By doing so, the resin content in the sheet is softened, thereby integrating the above-mentioned laminated materials to obtain a product having a desired shape.

On the other hand, in order to improve product strength, long glass fibers (continuous glass fibers) are sometimes blended into prepreg sheets, but this type of prepreg sheet can be used to produce FRP parts with uneven parts, such as engine mount members. When manufacturing, the following problems arise according to the conventional method as described above. That is, as shown in FIG.
Concave portions A 1 , A 2 and convex portions B 1 , B 2 are formed on the lower die B for molding the uneven portion of the product, but in the vicinity of the convex portions B 1 and B 2 , the upper die of the lower die B is formed. When setting the prepreg sheet C...C to the lower mold B, the sheet C...C does not come into close contact with the lower mold B because it has not yet been sufficiently softened.
Gaps a 1 and a 2 are created between the sheet C...C and the lower mold B. Therefore, when the molds are matched in this state, both ends of the prepreg sheet C...C are the uneven parts A 1 ,
Since it is restrained by A 2 , B 1 , and B 2 and is pressed along the lower die B so as to reduce the gaps a 1 and a 2 , the sheet C...C or the sheet C... Tension is applied to the long glass fibers in C in the longitudinal direction of the product (in the horizontal direction in the drawing). With the long glass fibers being stretched in this way, the resin in the prepreg sheet C...C gradually softens and becomes fluid due to the heating and pressurization of both molds A and B. Since the restraint of the resin on the long glass fibers is released, the long fibers move by their own contraction force to pass the shortest distance in the longitudinal direction of the product, and as a result, as shown in FIG. Near the top of the convex portion B 1 (B 2 ) of B, the long glass fibers D are gathered toward the lower mold B side,
A resin-rich portion E1 in which the long fibers D do not exist is formed in the upper part of the product in the thickness direction. Moreover, as shown in FIG. 9, at the end of the mold, the length of the long glass fiber D becomes insufficient as the long fiber D moves along the unevenness of the mold, so that the length of the long fiber D becomes insufficient at the end of the product. A resin-rich portion E2 in which the long fibers D do not exist is formed in the longitudinal direction. If such resin-rich parts E 1 and E 2 are present in the product, the strength of the parts will be weakened and cracks will occur locally, or in the worst case, the product will be damaged.

Furthermore, when the long glass fibers are press-molded under tension as described above, even after the restraint on the long fibers by the resin is released, the tension acting on the long fibers is not completely resolved. In other words, the resin hardens before the tension is completely resolved, and the tension acting on the long fibers causes deformation (warp) in the product.

(Objective of the Invention) The present invention addresses the above-mentioned problems during press processing of a prepreg sheet containing long glass fibers, and uses this type of prepreg sheet to produce FRP parts or products having uneven parts. When molding, the purpose is to prevent uneven distribution of long glass fibers that tend to occur in the uneven portions, and also to ensure that the long fibers are present at the edges of the product, thereby improving the strength of the product. . In addition, in the present invention, deformation in the length direction of the product is prevented by preventing large tension from acting on the long glass fibers.

That is, in a method of hot press molding a component having an uneven part using a prepreg sheet containing long fibers, the sheet is divided in advance so as to overlap near the uneven part corresponding to the above-mentioned uneven part in a molding die. After press-forming, the long fibers in the sheet are laminated with extra overlap so that they overlap near the tops of the uneven portions, and then hot-press molding is performed from above.

According to such a method, the prepreg sheets overlapped near the uneven portion of the mold are shifted in opposite directions along the uneven portion so that the dimensions of the overlapped portion become smaller when pressed by the mold. Therefore, the tension acting on the prepreg sheet or the long fibers in the sheet is eliminated by the sheet displacement, and the end of the sheet does not separate from the end of the mold. Therefore, even after thermoforming, long fibers are present at the ends of the product, and long fibers extending in opposite directions are present overlappingly near the top of the uneven portion of the mold. This prevents the absence of long fibers or the occurrence of resin-rich portions in uneven parts and edges of the product, and also prevents deformation in the length direction of the product due to tension acting on the long fibers. Become.

However, at the beginning of this mold matching, each sheet 3, 3, 4, 4, 5, 5 is pressed against the lower mold 2 by the upper mold 1 along the mold surface, so that the sheets or their Tension in the longitudinal direction of the product acts on the long glass fibers contained therein, and when the resin restraint is released, the long fibers tend to contract by themselves so as to eliminate the tension. When the long glass fibers shrink in this way, the long fibers may become unevenly distributed near the tops of the convex portions 2a and 2b, or the long fibers may no longer exist at the ends of the mold. Gender arises. However, each prepreg sheet 3, 3, 4, 4, 5, 5
As mentioned above, the sheets are divided in advance near the convex portions 2a and 2b of the lower die 2 and are sufficiently overlapped, so that the dimensions L 0 and L of the overlapped portions Y and Y' of the sheets are 0 ' becomes smaller, so that they are deviated along the mold surface in opposite directions, that is, in a direction that eliminates the above-mentioned tension. As a result, after the resin 6 is softened, the long glass fibers 7 and 8 contained in the sheets 3, 3 (4, 4) and 5, 5 are transferred to the lower mold 2, as shown in FIG. Near the top of the convex portion 2a (2b),
The overlapping portion Z has a dimension L 1 smaller than the dimension L 0 (L p ′) of the overlapping portion Y (Y′) of the sheet, so that they overlap. This prevents the occurrence of resin-rich portions in the convex portions X 3 and X 4 of the product X, and
The strength of X 4 will be improved.

Due to the misalignment of 4, 4, 5, 5, the end sheet 3,
3, 4, 4 are no longer gathered to the center side, and the long glass fibers 7, 8 in these sheets
As a result, the long glass fibers 7 and 8 in the sheet do not shrink even after the restraint of the synthetic resin is released. This prevents deformation of the product in the longitudinal direction after molding, and also reduces the glass length at the ends within the mold (the portions that become ends X 1 and X 2 of product X), as shown in Figure 4. Due to the presence of fibers 7 (8), the strength is improved in the same manner as in the above-mentioned convex portions X 3 and X 4 .
