までの距離を検出する検出手段と、該検出手段の
検出結果に基づいて自動合焦に関するデータを算
出する演算手段と、前記カメラボデイの動作を制
御するボデイ側制御手段とを有し、さらに、前記
レンズと前記カメラボデイとの間で互いにデータ
を送受信する通信手段を有し、前記自動合焦に関
するデータを前記通信手段によつて前記レンズへ
送信して自動的に焦点合なわせを行うカメラシス
テムにおいて、 前記カメラボデイから前記レンズへ前記通信手
段によつて送信するデータ中に、前記自動合焦に
関するデータの種類を示す情報を含むことを特徴
