DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION [Technical Field of the Invention] The present invention relates to an improvement in a sealing device for a flat battery having power generation elements such as an anode, a cathode, and an electrolyte layer. [Technical background of the invention and its problems] Conventionally, this type of sealing device uses tweezers to insert an unsealed battery into a battery sealing mold provided on a rotary table that moves intermittently at an angle of 45 to 50 degrees. It has been known to clamp and insert the anode metal can, curl the opening of the anode metal can inward using an impact press or a hydraulic press, and then tighten and seal the insulating gasket. In such a device, when sealing a battery using an impact press,
The descending time of the press is 0.1 to 0.6 seconds, and even in the case of a hydraulic press, the battery is instantaneously sealed within 1 to 2 seconds. As a result, there were drawbacks such as trapping excess air inside the battery and conversely causing the battery's electrolyte to scatter outside. In addition, since the battery is inserted into and removed from the sealing mold manually using tweezers, it is dangerous, and the sealing efficiency is low because the rotary table is moved intermittently. For this reason, the present applicant proposed a rotary sealing table having a rotary plate having a desired number of battery-receiving arcuate grooves fixed to its upper surface, a sealing cylinder provided at a location on the table corresponding to the arcuate grooves, and a sealing cylinder. A mold fixed to the upper part of the sealing cylinder, a push-up spindle arranged in the cylinder and consisting of a cell nut out, a coil spring, and a nut out rod that slides up and down through the die, and the sealing cylinder. , and an actuating means for lowering the pressing punch, the actuating means lowers the pressing punch, and the unsealed battery is moved between the pressing punch and the push-up spindle. We have already filed an application for a flat battery sealing device that clamps and seals the battery (Japanese Patent Application No. 51-147991 [Patent Publication No. 57-28453]). The main parts of this sealing device have the structure shown in FIGS. 1a and 1b. That is, numeral 1 in the figure is a lower rotary plate having an arcuate groove 2 on its periphery, and the rotary plate 1 is fixed on a rotary table 3. A through hole 4 1 is opened in the rotary table 3, and a sealing die 6 having a recess 5 into which an unsealed battery is inserted during sealing is inserted into the through hole 4 1 so as to be movable up and down. A cap nut 7 1 is inserted into the through hole 4 1 so that its lower portion projects downward from the lower surface of the rotary table 3 . The sealing die 6 is screwed into the portion of the cap nut 7 1 located in the through hole 4 1 . Further, an upper end portion of a sealed cylinder 8 having a cylindrical shape with a bottom is screwed onto a portion of the cap nut 71 that protrudes from the lower surface of the rotary table 3. The upper nut out 9a is inserted into the vicinity of the upper part of the cylinder 8 through the sealing die 6, and below the nut out 9a is a lower nut out 9b.
are arranged to penetrate through the bottom of the cylinder 8, and these upper and lower nuts-outs 9a, 9
A coil spring 10 for biasing the upper nutout 9a upward is interposed between the upper nut-outs 9a and 9b. The lower end of the lower nutout 9b is adapted to be pressed by a lower pressure roller 11 1 in the area to be sealed. An upper rotating plate 12 is disposed above the rotating plate 1 . This upper rotating plate 12
A through hole 4 2 is formed in the through hole 4 2 , and a press punch holder 13 is inserted into the through hole 4 2 so as to be movable up and down. A pressure punch 14 is fixed to the lower end of this holder 13 via a cap nut 72 . Furthermore, a roller follower 15 is attached to the upper side wall of the holder 13. This roller follower 15 is engaged with a cam groove 17 of a ring-shaped cam 16, and the holder 13 moves up and down by moving along the cam groove 17 as each rotary plate 1, 12 and rotary table 3 rotate. It's becoming like that. Further, an upper pressure roller 11 2 is arranged on the upper end of the holder 13 to press the area to be sealed. To perform sealing using the above-mentioned sealing device, first prepare an unsealed battery B shown in FIG. 2a. This battery B has a bottomed cylindrical anode can that also serves as an anode terminal.
Equipped with B1 . This anode can B 1 is filled with an anode mixture B 2 made of an anode active material powder to which silver oxide powder or manganese dioxide powder and an appropriate conductive agent are added. A separator consisting of an ion-permeable membrane B 3 and an electrolyte holding agent B 4 is sequentially housed on the anode mixture B 2 . A dish-shaped sealing plate B6 is fitted into the opening B5 of the anode can B1 via an annular insulating gasket B7 . Note that the insulating gasket B7 is attached to the peripheral edge B8 of the sealing plate B6 .
It is fixed by molding. A gel cathode B9 is filled inside the sealing plate B6 . Then, as shown in FIG. 1a, the press punch holder 13 is located above, and the press punch
is sufficiently away from the lower rotary plate 1 and the upper end surface of the upper nut out 9a is positioned on the upper surface of the recess 5 of the sealing die 6. Then, turn the unsealed battery B upside down and feed it into the arcuate groove 2 of the lower rotary plate 1. do. Next, when the lower and upper rotary plates 1 and 12 are rotated, the roller follower 15 of the holder 13 moves along the cam groove 17 of the cam 16, and the cam groove 17 tilts downward.
At this point, the holder 13 is lowered. As a result, the press punch 14 at the lower end of the holder 3 descends, and the press punch 14 passes through the arcuate groove 2 and passes through the sealing die 6.
The lower end surface of the battery B is brought into contact with the battery B , and the battery B is lowered against the biasing force of the coil spring 10. Furthermore, each rotating plate 1, 1
2 and the rotary table 3, the cam 16 and the cam groove 17 are disengaged and moved to the area to be sealed, and the holder 13 is moved to the upper pressure roll 11 2
The battery B is pressed into the recess 5 of the sealing die 6, and the opening B5 of the anode can B1 of the battery B is pressed.
is bent by contacting the inner surface of the bottom of the recess 5, thereby sealing the recess (as shown in FIG. 1B). Through these operations, the sealed battery shown in Figure 2b
B′ is obtained. In the sealing process, the lower nutout 9b is in sliding contact with the lower pressure roll 111 so that the rotation of the upper and lower rotary plates 12, 1 and the rotary table 3 is not inhibited. However, in the case of the above-mentioned sealing device, since the sealing is carried out with the battery B upside down as shown in FIG. 2a, there is a risk that the anode mixture etc. in the anode can B1 may leak out. Furthermore, when sealing is performed, the pressing punch 14 is brought into contact with the bottom surface of the anode can B 1 of the battery B and lowered to contact the sealing plate B 6 of the battery B , and is urged upward by the coil spring 10. The upper nut-out 9a is lowered against the biasing force, and the battery B is sealed in the recess 5 of the sealing die 6. In other words, since the pressing force from the pressing punch 14 and the repulsive force from the upper nut out 9a are applied to the battery B until it is sealed by the sealing die 6, the insulating gasket B7 inside the battery B protrudes. , deviation,
Another drawback was that the anode mixture was scattered. [Objective of the Invention] The present invention aims to maintain an unsealed battery in a normal position with its sealing slope facing upward, without the contents leaking out, and in addition, to prevent the contents from leaking due to variations in processing accuracy of individual sealing dies, etc. It is an object of the present invention to provide a sealing device for a flat battery that can press a sealing plate and curl the opening of a can to seal the can without causing variations in shoulder height. is screwed into the screw hole. An eccentric shaft 68 is inserted into the left end surface of the screw 66. A roller follower 69 is fitted onto the eccentric shaft 68, and the roller follower 69 is stopped by a strip ring 70 screwed onto the eccentric shaft 68 so as not to fall off. Further, a spanner hook 71 is attached to the right end surface of the adjustment screw 66. Inside the insertion hole 65 is a fastening element 7 such as a shunpan ring for stopping the adjustment screw 66 in a predetermined position after the adjustment screw 66 is rotated with a spanner hook 71.
2 is provided, and the fastening element 72 is fixed in the insertion hole 65 of the nut-out holder 59 by a presser ring 73 and a pressure plate 74. The adjustment screw 66, eccentric shaft 68, spanner hook 71, fastening element 72, presser ring 73, and pressure plate 74 constitute a total height adjustment mechanism. The roller follower 69 is engaged with a cam groove 76 of a ring-shaped cam 75 serving as a means for moving the nutout 60 up and down. This cam 75 is attached to the upper base so that it can move up and down about ±5 mm. The cam groove 76 has a ring shape, has the lowest region to be sealed, and is inclined upward toward the side located on the rotating disk 24 and toward the battery receiving portion 44 . That is, when the upper rotary disk 27 is rotated, the roller follower 69 of the nut-out holder 59 inserted into the hole 47 of the die holder 46 moves while being engaged with the cam groove 76 of the cam 75. When transferred to the engaging portion of the cam groove 76,
The nut-out holder 59 descends, and after passing the area to be sealed, rises again. Next, sealing by the flat battery sealing device of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. 3 to 8 and 9 a to c, which have already been described. First, as shown in FIG. 4, a drive source (not shown) is operated to rotate the drive shaft, rotating the rotating disk 24 counterclockwise, and rotating the lower and upper rotating disks 26, 27 clockwise. When the unsealed battery B shown in FIG.
When the arcuate groove 25 of No. 4 is located, the battery B is received in the arcuate groove 25. In this way, the rotating disk 24 that has received the battery B rotates, and the circular arc groove 25 of the disk 24 rotates.
and the positioning piece 32 of the lower rotating disk 26 are the fourth
When facing each other at point P in the figure, as shown in FIG. Lower punch 3 when in contact with
6 is reliably supplied into the same piece 32 into which it is inserted. At this time, the upper through hole 45 of the upper rotating disk 27
Since the upper cam head 55 of the die holder 46 inserted into the upper cam 56 is engaged with the cam groove 57 on the upper side of the upper cam 56, the sealing die 48 at the lower end of the die holder 46 is inserted into the battery B in the positioning piece 32. while the nut-out holder 59 in the cylindrical hole 47 of the die holder 46
Since the roller follower 69 is engaged with the cam groove 76 on the upper side of the cam 75, the holder 59
The bottom nut 60 is the battery B of the top 32.
located far enough away from Further, the lower cam head 39 of the lower punch holder 37 inserted into the lower through hole 30 of the lower rotary disk 26 is connected to the lower cam 4.
Since the lower punch 36 is engaged with the lower cam groove 41 of 0, the upper end surface of the lower punch 36 attached to the upper end thereof is held at a constant level. Next, when the lower and upper rotating disks 26 and 27 further rotate and are located at point P2 shown in FIG.
The roller follower 69 of the nut-out holder 59 gradually descends along the cam groove 76 of the cam 75, and along with this, the nut-out holder 59 descends along the cylindrical hole 47 of the die holder 46, that is, relative to the die holder 46. The nut-out 60 at the lower end of the nut-out holder 59 descends independently to a certain position against the biasing force of the push-up spring 63. As a result, as shown in FIG. 9b, the lower end surface of the nut-out 60 contacts and presses the upper surface of the battery B in the positioning piece 32 of the lower rotary disk 26, degassing the battery , etc. is frame 3
2 and the nutout 60. At this time, the downward stroke of the nut out 60 is determined by the inclination height of the cam groove 76 of the cam 75, which is set corresponding to the total height of the battery B , and the downward stroke of the nut out 60 is
Since 0 gradually descends, it is possible to prevent strong force from being applied to battery B , and the electrolyte in battery B will not be scattered. Next, when the lower and upper rotary disks 26 and 27 further rotate, the lower end surface of the nutout 60 remains in contact with the upper surface of the battery B and is inserted into the upper through hole 45 of the upper rotary disk 27. The upper cam head 55 of the inserted die holder 46 is engaged with the cam groove 57 of the upper cam 56 and moved to the inclined part of the cam groove 57, and the die holder 46 is lowered and further moved to point P 3 shown in FIG. 4. When the cam head 55 and the cam groove 5 are moved to the area to be sealed, the cam head 55 and the cam groove 5
7 is released, and the die holder 46 becomes free with respect to the upper cam 56. At the same time, the lower cam floor 39 of the lower punch holder 37 inserted into the lower through hole 30 of the lower rotary disk 26 is inserted into the lower cam 40.
The lower punch holder 37 moves to the wide cam groove 41 portion (area to be sealed), and the cam floor 39 disengages from the cam groove 41, and the lower punch holder 37 Free for 40. In this way, the die holder 46 is attached to the upper cam 5.
7, the upper pressure roller 58 comes into contact with the upper surface of the vertical adjustment screw 51 screwed onto the upper part of the die holder 46, and the die holder 46 is further lowered by the roll 58. Further, when the lower punch holder 37 becomes free with respect to the lower cam 40, the lower pressure roller 4 is attached to the lower end surface of the holder 37.
2 are brought into contact with each other, and the lower punch 36 is held in a predetermined position against the pressing force of the die holder 46.
In this step, the sealing die 48 at the lower end of the die holder 46 is lowered as shown in FIG. The spring 31 contacts the opening of the can and pushes up further.
The positioning piece 32 is lowered against the biasing force of the die 48, and the recess 49 of the die 48 comes into contact with the opening of the can of the battery B and is bent to seal the can, resulting in a sealed battery B' as shown in FIG. 10b. . In the sealing process, both the die holder 46 and the lower punch holder 37 are disengaged from the upper cam 56 and the lower cam 40 and are free, and the lower end surface of the lower punch 37 is connected to the lower pressure roll 42. Because they are in sliding contact,
The rotation of the upper and lower discs 27, 26 is not hindered. After the sealing is completed, the upper cam head 55 of the die holder 46 is moved again to the upper cam 5 by continuing to rotate the lower and upper rotary disks 26 and 27.
6 engages with the cam groove 57 of the cam 75 and the holder 46 rises, and as the die 48 separates from the sealed battery B' , the roller follower 69 of the nut-out holder 59 rises along the cam groove 76 of the cam 75. The nutout 60 then separates from the top surface of the sealed battery B' . At the same time, the lower cam head 39 of the lower punch holder 37 is engaged with the cam groove 41 of the lower cam 40. As a result, the pressing force of the sealing die 48 on the push-up spring 31 in the lower rotary disk 26 is released, and the positioning piece 32 is raised by the biasing force of the push-up spring 31 to receive the unsealed battery. return to the original state. Furthermore, when the lower and upper rotary disks 26, 27 rotate and are located at point P4 shown in FIG. The sealed battery B' is guided to the bent side surface of the guide 43 while slidingly in contact with the side surface of the protruding part 33, and the sealed battery B' is introduced into the battery receiving part 44. As described above, according to the sealing device of the present invention, while the lower and upper rotary disks 26 and 27 rotate together, the unsealed flat sheet in the normal posture is supplied to the positioning piece 32 of the lower rotary disk 26. The roller follower 6 engages the cam groove 76 of the cam 75.
It is held by the lower punch 36 inserted into the top 32 and the upper cam head 55 which engages with the cam groove 57 of the upper cam 56. The sealing plate B 6 of the battery B held in advance is pressed and curled by the concave portion 49 of the sealing die 48 that is successively lowered to perform sealing. As a result, by being able to seal the unsealed battery B in a normal position,
It is possible to prevent electrolyte from leaking during rotation. Moreover, when holding the unsealed battery B between the nut out 60 and the lower punch 36, the nut out 6
0 gradually descends and comes into contact with the sealing plate B 6 of battery B to vent the gas inside battery B , and the downward stroke of nutkout 60 is made by a cam set in accordance with the total height of battery B. Since this is determined by the inclination height of the cam groove 76 of the insulating gasket B7, the insulating gasket B7 does not protrude or shift, the electrolyte does not scatter, and the total height of the battery does not vary, etc., as shown in Fig. 10b. A sealed battery B′ with stable quality can be obtained. In addition, as shown in FIGS. 7 and 8, an adjustment screw 66 constituting a part of the total height adjustment mechanism is inserted into the insertion hole 67 of the nut-out holder 59, and the holder 59 is inserted into the left end surface of the adjustment screw 66. By mounting an eccentric shaft 68 that pivotally supports a roller follower 69 for vertical movement, variations in the downward stroke of each nutout 60 can be adjusted. That is, after assembling the sealing device, the nut punch 60 and the lower punch 3 are removed.
Due to the processing precision of No. 6, the lengths between the individual nut-outs and between the lower punches often differ, resulting in variations in the total height between sealed batteries. In such a case, after loosening the bolt of the presser plate 74 that pressurizes the fastening element 72, apply the probe of a test indicator, for example, to the upper part of the outer peripheral side of the adjustment screw 66, and press the right end surface of the screw 66. When the adjustment screw 66 is turned using a wrench hook 71 attached to the screw, the nut-out holder 59 is moved upward or downward by an eccentric shaft 68 (degree of eccentricity 0.1 to 0.5 mm) attached to the left end surface of the screw. , and the nutsout 60 moves up and down accordingly. the result,
While observing the scale of the test indicator, the total height H1 of the battery shown in FIG. 9a can be adjusted to a predetermined size. After adjustment, the pressure plate 74 is bolted to the fastening element 72 via the presser ring 73.
By applying pressure, the adjustment screw 66 can be fastened to the set position. By performing this operation on other nut-out holders into which other nut-outs have been inserted, sealed batteries having the same total height can be stably obtained. On the other hand, when sealing batteries with different total heights that cannot be adjusted with the adjusting screws 66, the cam 75 that is engaged with the roller follower 69 of the nut-out holder 59 is attached so as to be able to move up and down. Therefore, by moving the cam 75 upward or downward, it is possible to stably seal batteries having different total heights. Furthermore, as shown in FIGS. 7 and 8, a vertical adjustment screw 51 that constitutes a part of the shoulder height adjustment mechanism is inserted into the insertion hole 50 of the die holder 46, and the height of the adjustment screw 51 is adjusted. By doing so, the shoulder height of the battery when sealing can be adjusted. That is, when the recess 49 of the sealing die 48 attached to the lower end of the die holder 46 is fitted into the unsealed battery B to seal it as shown in FIG. Height between the upper inner surface of 49 and the upper end surface of the lower punch 36
Determined by H 2 . This shoulder height H 2 is determined by the die 4
It is determined by the depth D of the recess 49 of No.8. However, due to variations in the processing accuracy of the sealing die 48 and the lower punch 36, the depth D between the recesses 49 of the individual dies 48 often varies, resulting in variations in shoulder height between sealed batteries. . This variation in the depth D of the recess 49 can be adjusted by the downward stroke of the die 48. In such a case,
After loosening the bolt pressurizing the fastening element 54,
When, for example, a probe of a test indicator is applied to the upper end surface of the vertical adjustment screw 51 and the adjustment screw 51 is turned using a wrench hook 53 attached to the screw 51, the screw 51 moves upward or downward. . As a result, by adjusting the height of the adjustment screw 51 while looking at the scale of the test indicator,
When the die holder 46 is lowered by the upper pressure roll 58 that contacts the top of the adjustment screw 51 as shown in FIG. . After adjustment, the adjusting screw 51 can be fastened to the set position by tightening the fastening element 54 with bolts and pressurizing the fastening element 72. By performing this operation on other die holders,
Sealed batteries with uniform shoulder height can be stably obtained. On the other hand, when sealing batteries with different shoulder heights that cannot be adjusted with the vertical adjustment screw 51,
If the upper pressure roll 58 is attached to an eccentric shaft so that the downward stroke of the die holder 46 can be adjusted up and down, batteries with different shoulder heights can be sealed stably. [Effects of the Invention] As detailed above, according to the present invention, the can can be opened while the unsealed battery is held in a normal posture and at a predetermined pressure without applying more pressure than necessary to the battery. To provide a sealing device for flat shoulder batteries that can be sealed by curling the parts, and that can produce sealed batteries with stable quality without causing protrusion or misalignment of the insulating gasket, scattering of the electrolyte, or variations in total height. Can be provided. In addition, by providing a total height adjustment mechanism that adjusts the height of each nut-out, differences in length between individual nut-outs and between lower punches due to variations in processing accuracy of individual nut-outs and lower punches can be avoided. This makes it possible to stably obtain sealed batteries with a uniform total height. Furthermore, by providing a shoulder height adjustment mechanism, it is possible to eliminate differences in the depth of the recess between individual sealing dies due to variations in the descending precision of the individual sealing dies and the lower punch, and as a result, the shoulder height can be adjusted. It is possible to stably obtain a uniform sealed battery.
