面の洗浄を行なうブラシと、前記ノズル及びブラ
シを昇降するための駆動手段とを備えた洗車機に
おいて、発光と受光により車高を検出する車高検
出装置を備え、該車高検出装置の発光側をＬＥＤ
等の点光源の集合体より形成し、受光側を前記点
光源の発光状態を読み取りその発光の明暗を感知
する固体撮像素子より形成し、該固体撮像素子の
信号を車高データとして検出する検出手段と、該
検出手段で検出した車高データに基づき前記駆動
手段を制御する制御手段とを備えたことを特徴と
