Sector addresses are confirmed by methods such as providing an address section at the beginning of a sector, or counting sector separation signals between sectors to obtain the sector address. However, the signal that generates the sector address is generally short in time, and there is a problem in that effective error control cannot be performed, so it is necessary to ensure sufficient reliability in the address section.

A recording and reproducing means for recording and reproducing signals on a medium, and a level changing means for changing a binarization level when detecting an address from a reproduced address signal, and when recording,
The playback sensitivity is lowered by changing the level with the level change means, the address is detected from the playback address signal, the detected address is compared with the address to be recorded, and if they do not match, a predetermined value is set in the address section. Overwrite the signals, and then
This information recording and reproducing apparatus is configured so that this address part cannot be reproduced.

11 is a recording/reproducing section, 24 is an optical pickup,
is an optical disk. The directory 6 is composed of a CPU and the like, and is a circuit that determines sector addresses. Now, when a certain data 12 is to be recorded, the directory 6 determines a recordable sector and sends the write address 13, which is the sector address, to the comparator 7. The directory 6 also sends the write address 13 to the recording/reproducing section 10. The recording/reproducing unit 10 controls the optical pickup 24 and sequentially reads the address part 1 of the sector.
A sector corresponding to write address 13 is searched. When the recording/reproducing unit 10 discovers the corresponding sector,
The address part 1 of the sector is reproduced with the reproduction sensitivity lowered by changing the binarization level, and the sector address 14 is sent to the comparator 7. Further, if the corresponding sector cannot be found, the recording/reproducing unit 10 sends the sector end detection signal 15 to the directory 6.
send to Directory 6 is sector end detection signal 15
The sector at write address 13 at the time of receiving the write address is regarded as a bad sector, and the sector at the new write address 1 is set as a bad sector.

compares the sector address 14 reproduced by changing the binarization level sent from the recording/reproducing section 10 and the write address 13, and sends out a recording trigger signal 16 when they match. The encoder 8 that receives the recording trigger signal 16 encodes the data 12 for error control. The encoded data 17 output from the encoder 8 is then modulated and recorded in the data recording section 2. On the other hand, sector address 14 and write address 13 reproduced by changing the binarization level
do not match, comparator 7 outputs mismatch signal 1
8 to directory 6. Upon receiving the mismatch signal 18, the directory 6 regards this sector as a bad sector, determines a new write address 13, and sends a rewrite signal 19 to the recording/reproducing section 10. Upon receiving the rewrite signal 19, the recording/reproducing section 10 returns the reproduction sensitivity to the original value, searches for the corresponding sector again, and overwrites the address section of the corresponding sector with a predetermined signal.

When a specific sector is to be read and output, the directory 6 sends the address of that sector to the recording/reproducing unit 10 as a read address 22. The recording and reproducing section 10 reproduces the data recording section 2 of the sector corresponding to the read address 22 with normal reproduction sensitivity, and the reproduced signal is demodulated and then outputted from the decoder 20 as output data 23.

When a sector is detected, a predetermined signal is overwritten in the address part so that the address part of the sector becomes unplayable, and by making it impossible to write to this sector from now on, the data is transferred to a sector with a stable address part. This enables stable data reproduction.
