走行距離も長いのが普通であり、旋回を伴わない
ことがある。従来の刈取収穫機は、刈取部を上昇
させたときに自動的に刈取クラツチが切れるの
で、上記三つの走行の何れにおいても刈取搬送系
の駆動が停止してしまい、旋回を伴わないのに駆
動を停止して作業能率を必要以上に低下させた
り、作業の中断によつて収穫機側に完全に取り込
まれていない穀稈が、長い距離を走行する間に機
体から脱落したりする問題があつた。

進走行では刈取部を駆動させたままにして搬送路
中の穀稈の脱穀を継続するので、作業能率が必要
以上に低下したり、完全に取り込まれていない穀
稈の脱落を防止できる効果がある。
