Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain brightness characteristics matching human visual sense characteristics similarly for any color by providing a liquid crystal driving means which inputs the multi-gradation (multi-color) display data of an input interface signal and a display synchronizing signal and converts them into the driving signal of the liquid crystal display device to make a display. CONSTITUTION:An eight-level liquid crystal driving signal generating means 101 which inputs the Red(R) signal 100, Green(G) signal 101, and Blue(B) signal 102 of the display data of the interface signal generates liquid crystal display data 107 and the liquid crystal display device driving signal. In an X driving means 115, a data shift means 800 inputs liquid crystal display data 107 by one line with a data shift clock 111 and generates a shift data output 800. Further, a one-line latch means 802 latches the shift data 801 with a horizontal clock 110 and outputs display data 803. Further, an eight-level voltage selecting means 804 selects an eight-level liquid crystal impressed voltage. Consequently, a multi-gradation (multi-color) display which is free from flickering is obtained.

A conventional liquid crystal display device converts an input interface signal into a driving signal for driving a liquid crystal display family, and applies the driving signal to a liquid crystal display means such as Hitachi $1HD66107T. Images are displayed by capturing two levels of display data of the signals for one line in the vertical direction of the screen and outputting it to the liquid crystal panel as a liquid crystal drive power source. However, in such conventional liquid crystal display devices, display on and display off are expressed using two levels of liquid crystal driving power supply, and multicolor display is not considered.
