[Industrial Application Field] The present invention relates to a film mainly composed of polyethylene terephthalate. [Prior Art] Base films for magnetic recording media are coated with a magnetic layer after surface activation treatment, or coated with a slippery layer on one side of the surface to improve running properties. It is coated with a back coat layer. [Problems to be Solved by the Invention] However, when conventional films are used in magnetic recording media, when the number of runs increases, the back coat layer for improving running durability not only does not perform a sufficient function. The back coat layer may peel off during running, or in severe cases, the base film's polyethylene terephthalate itself, or the inorganic and organic compounds added to it, may fall off, which not only rapidly deteriorates the running properties of the tape, but also causes magnetic recording. Deterioration of characteristics, especially flickering of images and dropouts in recording, is likely to occur, and the magnetic layer also has drawbacks such as peeling due to sliding with the head. [Means for Solving the Problems] The present invention is characterized by a film mainly composed of polyethylene terephthalate and having a partial melting temperature of 90 to 120°C. In the present invention, polyethylene terephthalate refers to a polyethylene terephthalate having an ester bond obtained by polycondensation of ethylene glycol and terephthalic acid, and having an intrinsic viscosity of 0.40 or more. Of course, it may be a homopolymer, but in the case of random copolymerization, it may be less than 10 mol%, and in the case of block copolymerization, it may be less than 30 mol%. Examples of the comonomer include 2,6-naphthalene dicarboxylic acid, p-oxybenzoic acid, oxy-6-naphthoic acid, paracyclohexyl dimethanol, polyethylene glycol, and polytetramethylene glycol. A film is a film-like material having a thickness of 500〓m or less, and in the case of the film of the present invention, it is particularly 150 to 4〓m,
More preferably, it is in the range of 80 to 5 m. Note that the film is preferably stretched biaxially. A magnetic recording layer is a layer that can be magnetized by a magnetic field, and the magnetic layer can be either a coating type consisting of a coating film containing ferromagnetic fine particles and a binder, or a metal thin film type consisting of a ferromagnetic metal thin film. The applicable ferromagnetic materials are −Fe 2 O 3 , Fe 3 O 4 ,
Co-doped = −Fe 2 O 3 , Co-doped = −Fe 2 O 3 −
Fe 3 O 4 solid solution, Co-based compound coated type = −Fe 2 O 3 , Co
Coated type -Fe 3 O 4 (including intermediate oxidation state with -Fe 2 O 3. Co-based compounds here include cobalt oxide, cobalt hydroxide, cobalt ferrite, cobalt ion adsorbates, etc.) This shows a case where the magnetic anisotropy of cobalt is used to improve coercive force), or iron, cobalt, nickel, or other ferromagnetic metals, or Fe-Co, Fe-Ni, Co-Ni, Fe-Rh,
Fe-Cu, Fe-Au, Co-Cu, Co-Au, Co-Y,
Co-La, Co-Pr, Co-Gd, Co-Sm, Co-Pt,
Ni−Cu, Fe−Co−Nd, Mn−Bi, Mn−Sb,
Magnetic alloys such as Mn-Al, as well as Ba ferrite,
Examples include ferrite-based magnetic materials such as Sr ferrite. Partial melting means that part of the polymer melts, causing the entire polymer to soften, flow, or
Alternatively, it refers to partial melting that does not significantly deform the shape and appears to have almost no change in appearance, and has a melting energy of 5% or less of the entire melting energy of the film of the present invention. In the case of the present invention, the partial melting temperature Tp is 90 to 120°C,
Preferably it should be in the range 95-110°C.
If Tp is less than 90°C, when running for a long time, the friction coefficient increases due to contact between the back surface of the magnetic recording medium and a guide made of metal, etc., resulting in tape noise, fluctuations in running speed, or parts of the magnetic layer. This may cause peeling, etc. On the other hand, if the partial melting temperature Tp exceeds 120°C, the coating layer on the back surface of the magnetic recording medium may peel off or fall off, and even the polymer from the base polyethylene terephthalate layer or inorganic/organic substances added to it may peel off or fall off when running for a long time. Additives such as these fall off, causing partial peeling of the magnetic layer, leading to a significant deterioration of magnetic recording characteristics. The film of the present invention can be used in cases where a magnetic layer is provided on one or both sides, or in magnetic tapes, magnetic disks, etc. in which a magnetic layer is provided on one side and a back coat layer is provided on the other side. Next, the manufacturing method of the present invention will be described, but it is not necessarily limited thereto. As polyethylene terephthalate, the intrinsic viscosity [〓] is 0.4 to 1.5 dl/g, preferably 0.50 to 0.80 dl/
(g) is a polymer containing 5 mol% or less of a comonomer such as diethylene glycol or polyethylene glycol, which also contains additives such as a heat stabilizer, thickener, antiblocking agent, and slip agent. In the case of the present invention, the additives include one type of silica sol having an average particle size of 0.1 to 1.5〓m, preferably two or more types of silica sols having different particle sizes, for example, silica sols having an average particle size of 0.1 to 0.4〓m and silica sol of 0.8 to 1.2〓m. If these are mixed and added, not only will the shedding of the polymer or additives, which is an effect of the present invention, be particularly reduced, but also the runnability after long-term use will be improved, allowing stable use over a long period of time. After feeding the polyethylene terephthalate to an extruder and melting it,
After measuring the amount accurately using a gear pump, extrude it into a sheet from a nozzle. The molten sheet was cast onto a chrome plated roll cooled to 30 to 70°C while applying an electrostatic charge, and solidified by cooling. The cast sheet is heated on a preheated/stretched roll heated to a roll surface temperature of 70 to 130°C, and then stretched 3 times in the longitudinal direction.
After stretching ~7 times, it is immediately cooled and solidified, followed by 80 times stretching.
It is introduced into a stenter heated to ~190℃, stretched 3 to 6 times in the width direction, and then stretched 0 to 10% in the width direction.
Heat fixation was performed at 70 to 180°C while allowing relaxation. The biaxially stretched film is further introduced into a simultaneous biaxially stretched tenter, heated to 120 to 240°C, and stretched 1.1 to 2.2 times in the longitudinal direction and 0.8 to 1.5 times in the width direction.
The surface was treated at 240°C while allowing 0 to 10% relaxation in the longitudinal direction, and the total lengthwise stretch ratio was 8 to 13 times, the width direction stretch ratio was 3 to 8 times, and the thickness was 4 to 150 m. A biaxially oriented film is obtained. The biaxially oriented film is further heat-treated in a heating medium inert to polyethylene terephthalate. The inert heat medium is liquid or gaseous, such as water, carbon tetrachloride, and trichlene. The temperature of the treatment heat medium should be in the range 50-90°C, preferably 60-80°C. This is because even if the treatment is performed at a temperature other than this, the partial melting temperature will not fall within the temperature range of the present invention. Processing time is 0.1 ~
100 seconds, preferably 1 to 30 seconds, in the longitudinal direction,
The relaxation rate in each direction in the width direction is about 5 to 20%. This is because unless the tension in the longitudinal direction during this treatment is 3 kg/m width or less, it is out of the scope of the present invention for the same reason as above. Next, the surface of the PET film is preferably activated to have a surface wetting tension of 60 dyne/cm or more, and then a coated or vapor-deposited magnetic recording layer is coated, and the opposite side is coated with a slippery layer if necessary. can be coated with a back coat layer. [Function] When the polyethylene terephthalate film of the present invention is used in a magnetic recording medium, the polyethylene terephthalate film serving as the base layer has a special structure that can partially melt, that is, absorb heat, at a specific temperature. It also has an excellent effect in that the surface characteristics of the base film do not change even when heated during coating of the magnetic layer or slippery layer. [Effects of the Invention] Since the partial melting temperature Tp is set within a specific temperature range, a magnetic recording medium using the above-mentioned partial melting temperature Tp produces the following excellent effects. 1. There is no decrease in running durability even after running for a long time. 2. Furthermore, there is no peeling or falling off from the polyethylene terephthalate film layer, back layer, magnetic layer, etc., and it has excellent recording and reproducing characteristics. 3. Adhesion with the magnetic layer is improved, and strong adhesion can be obtained with a simple surface activation method. 4. Good dimensional stability at relatively low temperatures from room temperature to around 80°C, with almost no distortion during recording and reproduction. 5. Uniform and high-density recording can be performed without bleeding out of low molecular weight substances such as monomers and oligomers, as well as additives, onto the surface of the recording medium. Next, the terms and measurement methods used in the present invention will be described below. 1 To determine the partial melting temperature Tp, measure 10 mg of the sample using a scanning calorimeter (DSC, e.g. manufactured by PerkinElmer).
DSC-type, etc.) and under a nitrogen stream.
After increasing the temperature from 20°C at a rate of 20°C/min and measuring up to at least 160 °C, draw a baseline. Arithmetic mean value ((T 1 , T 2 )×1 /
2) is Tp. 2. Intrinsic viscosity [〓] is measured by dissolving the polymer in o-chlorophenol.
According to ASTMD-1601 (unit: dl/g). 3 Surface roughness Ra is measured from the roughness curve according to JIS B-0601-1976 and is the cut-off value.
This was done with a measurement length of 0.25 mm and a measurement length of 4 mm. 4 Running Durability Using a tape running property tester model TBT-300 [manufactured by Yokohama System Research Institute Co., Ltd.], run the tape 100 times in an atmosphere of 25°C and 50% RH, and check the initial dynamic friction coefficient = k and 100 times. 〓k after repeated running was determined from the following formula, and the running durability was expressed as the difference between these two values (〓k after 100 times repeated running - initial 〓k). 〓k=0.7331ogT 1 /T 0 where T 0 is the input tension, T 1 is the output tension,

Examples 1 to 3, Comparative Examples 1 to 3 0.25% of silica sol with number average particles of 200 m was added to polyethylene terephthalate PET (intrinsic viscosity [〓] = 0.65 dl/g) copolymerized with 0.1 mol% of diethylene glycol. Number average particle size 900m〓
0.1% was added. The PET is fed into an extruder, melted at 285°C, and quantitatively determined using a gear pump.
The molten sheet was extruded from a T-die nozzle and cast onto a chrome plating drum kept at 45° C. while applying an electrostatic charge. The cast sheet was brought into contact with a roll heated to 103°C and rolled in the longitudinal direction by 5.5°C.
After the double stretching, it was cooled, then stretched 4.5 times in the width direction in a stenter heated to 98°C, and then heat set at 1150°C while allowing 5% relaxation in the width direction. Furthermore, the film was introduced into a simultaneous biaxial stretching tenter, and the film was stretched 1.5 times in the longitudinal direction and 1.5 times in the width direction at 150°C.
The film was simultaneously stretched 1.1 times and then relaxed at 185° C. by 2% and 5% in the longitudinal direction and width direction, respectively, resulting in a total stretching of 8.1 times in the longitudinal direction and 4.5 times in the width direction. Subsequently, it was introduced into a Triclean heating medium bath maintained at various temperatures, allowed to relax in the longitudinal direction by 2% for 20 seconds, and the longitudinal tension was 1.5 kg/m.
After processing and drying, the film with a thickness of 7.0 m was wound into a roll using a winder. The surface roughness Ra of this film was 0.007 m, which was smooth. Next, the surface was subjected to corona discharge treatment to form a metal oxide type magnetic layer on one side and a dock coat layer on the other side. ◎ Formation of magnetic layer (metal oxide type) Magnetic layer (thermosetting magnetic layer) Cobalt-coated acicular by weight −Fe 2 O 3 (major axis 0.4〓, single axis
0.05〓, Hc600 Oe) 120 parts carbon black (Mitsubishi Carbon Black MA-600 for antistatic use) 5 parts〓-Al 2 O 3 powder (0.5〓 powder) 2 parts powder (soybean oil refined lecithin) 3 parts solvent (MEK / toluene 50/50) 100 parts The above composition was mixed in a ball mill for 3 hours,
The acicular magnetic iron oxide is better wetted by the dispersant. Next, vinyl chloride vinyl acetate copolymer (VAGH manufactured by Union Carbide Co., Ltd.) 15 parts thermoplastic urethane resin (Nituporan 3022 manufactured by Nippon Polyurethane Co., Ltd.) 15 parts solvent (MEK/toluene 50/50) 200 parts lubricant (higher fatty acid (Modified silicone oil) Mix and dissolve the 3 parts mixture well. This was placed in the ball mill that had been treated with the magnetic powder above and dispersed again for 42 hours. After dispersion, 5 parts (in terms of solid content) of an isocyanate compound (Desmodyur L manufactured by Bayer AG) that can react with and crosslink the functional groups, mainly hydroxyl groups, of the binder in the magnetic paint are mixed into the above ball milled paint for 20 minutes. I did this. Magnetic paint was applied onto the above polyester film of 7㎜, oriented on a permanent magnet (1600 gauss), the solvent was dried with an infrared lamp or hot air, and after surface smoothing treatment, it was placed in an oven kept at 80℃. The roll was held for 48 hours to accelerate the crosslinking reaction with the isocyanate. ◎Formation of back coat layer Back coat layer Weight parts Magnesium oxide 100 m〓 120 parts Carbon black 30 m〓 80 parts Hardening agent Coronate L 20 parts Lubricant Stearic acid 4 parts Butyl stearate 2 parts Nitrogen cotton 40 parts Vinyl chloride - Vinyl acetate - Vinyl alcohol Copolymer (manufactured by Sekisui Chemical Co., Ltd., Eslec A) 30 parts Polyurethane elastomer (manufactured by BF Gutdrich Co., Ltd., Etsusen 5703) 30 parts Mixed solvent (MIBK/toluene) 250 parts The coating was applied to the opposite side to a dry thickness of 1.0 mm, dried, smoothed with a calender, and then cured with heat.

いことがわかる。[Table] As shown in Table 1, the Tp of PET film is 90~
It can be seen that by setting the temperature at 120°C, preferably in the range of 95 to 110°C, both runnability and scratch resistance can be achieved. The temperature of the heat medium tank at this time is 50 to 90℃,
It is found that the treatment is preferably carried out at a temperature in the range of 60 to 80°C.
