[Industrial Field of Application] The present invention relates to a drug for treating and preventing eel gill disease. [Prior Art] Eels are susceptible to diseases, such as gill disease. Gill disease is a general term for diseases that occur in the gills of eels, and the main ones are gill disease caused by Chondrocottus columnaris.
These include myxobacterial gill disease caused by myxobacteria, and punctate depressive gill disease of unknown cause. To date, countermeasures against any type of gill disease have been to stop feeding or take a salt water bath (0.5 gills).
~0.7%) have been adopted, but no fundamental countermeasures have yet been proposed. [Problems to be Solved by the Invention] The present invention provides a drug effective for the prevention and treatment of eel gill disease. [Means for Solving the Problems] The present invention relates to a preventive and therapeutic agent for eel gill disease, which contains mugwort leaves as a main ingredient. The mugwort leaves used in the present invention are leaves of Asteraceae (Artemisia princeps Pampanini) or sagebrush (Artemisia montana Pampanini), and contain cyonele, thujone, and sesquiterpenes. , sesquiterpene alcohols, choline, adenine, etc. In the present invention, dried mugwort leaves are used, but powdered leaves are preferred in terms of fish palatability and uniform administration. Mugwort leaves are used as dry matter for about 1 ton of eel per day.
Administer 100-1000g orally. For administration, it is best to mix it with feed. Methods of using the drug of the present invention include administering it to areas where eel death continues, administering it at the start of feeding to areas after treatment such as stopping eel feeding, or administering it to areas where there is a risk of developing gill disease. administration to. [Example] Next, an example will be shown. Example 1 Dried mugwort leaves are sorted to remove impurities,
It was ground to obtain a powder. This powder was sieved to obtain dry mugwort leaf powder. Example 2 A drug for eel gill disease containing the dry mugwort leaf powder obtained in Example 1 as a main component was obtained by mixing the compositions shown in the table below. Table 1 Ingredients Weight% Dried mugwort leaf powder obtained in Example 1 40 Vitamin E (50% by weight) 4 Vitamin C 3 Vitamin B 12 (2% by weight) 0.8 Vitamin K 3 0.5 Calcium pantothenate 2.0 Folic acid 0.5 Calcium lactate 5 Iron fumarate 10 Licorice extract 5 Brewer's yeast 29.2 500g of the obtained mixture was added to 20kg of mixed feed for eels.
This was mixed with 1 ton of drug for one day's worth of eel. [Effects] Next, the effects of the present invention will be described. Reference Example 1 The mixed feed containing dried mugwort leaf powder of Example 1 was administered to a culture area where eel gill disease had occurred. The administration method and results are shown in Table 2.

[Table] Effects began to appear 4 to 5 days after administration, but deaths continued in the non-administration group. Reference Example 2 The mixed feed containing dried mugwort leaf powder obtained in Example 2 was administered to test plots where eel gill disease had occurred. The composition of the test plot was the same as in Reference Example 1. Before administration, there were 20 to 30 dead eels every day, but the number decreased to a few every day after 5 days of administration in all plots.
