5, when the density detection sensor 7 reads the density of the basic original pattern image 19 exposed on the photoreceptor drum 1 and developed by the developing drum 18, the reflected light voltage conversion of the light part is shown. value
V 1 is high, and the output voltage V 2 of the dark area is low, but the values change because the intensity of reflected light varies depending on the level of toner concentration.

, that is, if V 1 /V 2 = C, then the appropriate concentration,
If V 1 /V 2 >C, the density is high, so toner is not replenished, and if V 1 /V 2 <C, the density is low, so toner is replenished. It has become like this.

This allows the concentration to be maintained at an appropriate level. That is, in the embodiment shown in FIG. 1, the developing unit 4 is made replaceable, and when it is desired to obtain an image of a different color, the developing unit 4 is replaced with a developing unit containing toner of the desired color, and at the same time. Try changing the setting value C. Further, in the embodiment shown in FIG. 2, a plurality of developing units 4, 4', 4'' are provided, and only the developing unit of the desired color is operated.
By changing the set value C of the operating color, the developer can be maintained at an appropriate toner concentration at all times, so that optimal copies can always be made even when copies are made in different colors.

たことを特徴とするトナー濃度制御装置。1 When developing a latent image formed on a photoconductor by a two-component development process using carrier and toner, it is necessary to replace multiple developing units containing different colored developers or to change the number of installed multiple developing units. In an electrophotographic copying device that can obtain images with different colors by selecting one of the following, the developed density on the photoreceptor of a basic original pattern with shading is read by the amount of reflected light, and each of the shading images is When controlling the toner density by comparing the ratio value of the reflected light with a predetermined value, the set value to be compared with the ratio of the reflected light is determined for each developer color. 1. A toner concentration control device characterized in that the developer concentration of each color can be controlled by switching according to the toner concentration.
