Cleaning work in areas that are at risk of being harmed by radiation or toxic substances, such as nuclear power plants, is preferably carried out using equipment that can be remotely controlled from a safe location. Conventional cleaning equipment of this type includes:
As a device for cleaning floors, there is a "floor cleaning system and device" previously proposed by the applicant. There are devices for cleaning walls that are built-in for specific objects to be cleaned, but of course these types of devices are not versatile. Therefore, at present, the walls of nuclear power plant buildings and tanks are cleaned manually.

As shown in FIG. 1, the self-propelled cart 7 of the wall cleaning device 1 is stopped at an appropriate position from the wall with its traveling direction parallel to the wall, and the pole 6 is extended to an appropriate length. At this time, if you place the tip of the pole against the ceiling and push it up to secure it between the pole and the floor, the pole will be stable during cleaning work. As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the means 8 for raising and lowering the guide 5 of the arm 3 supporting the cleaning means 4 is driven by a motor 81 and a reel 8.
2. Consisting of a pulley 83 and a hanging wire 84,
The wire 84 on which the guide 5 is suspended is wound up and unwound by the motor 81 and the reel 82, and the cleaning means 4 is moved to a desired position between the top and bottom of the pole. As shown in FIG. 5, the guide 5 includes a short cylindrical guide frame 51 and a plurality of springs 52 and rubber rollers 5 provided therein.
3, and by the expansion and contraction of the spring 52 which presses the rubber roller 53 against the pole, it is possible to move along the pole of non-uniform thickness. The arm 4 is extended to bring the hood 41 into contact with the wall, and as shown in FIG. 3, water-containing air is jetted toward the wall from a nozzle 43 contained in the hood and sucked by the vacuum hose 44. . The rotating brush 42 scrubs the wall surface and cleans the wall together with the sprayed water-containing air. Inside the hood, as shown in Figure 3, the injected air containing water and the air flowing in from the gap between the hood and the wall are sucked by the vacuum hose, forming a flow as shown by the arrow. Moisture containing dirt is sucked along with this flow and transported to a rear contaminant separation device (not shown). In this way, cleaning and suction of dirty water takes place inside the hood, so that no contaminated water is splashed out of the hood. If the cleaning means is moved upward or downward while performing such cleaning, the wall surface within the movable range of the cleaning means can be cleaned. By moving the self-propelled trolley by the width of the brush and repeating the same operation, you can clean the entire wall surface.

The hood should rotatably enclose the rotating brush and should have a shape and size that maintains a steady flow as indicated by the arrow in FIG. In the gap between the end of the hood and the wall, especially at the bottom of the hood, be sure to prevent dirty water and air from scattering.
Air needs to flow in at a certain speed. To do this, the hood must always be kept at an appropriate distance from the wall. This can be achieved by means such as providing legs 45 of an appropriate height on the end face of the hood. It is preferable to use a small wheel instead of the legs, as the arm can move up and down smoothly and will not scratch the wall. As a means for imparting rotation to the rotating brush, it is recommended to attach a rotor to the rotating brush and to blow cleaning water or air, preferably air containing water, onto the rotating brush. Of course, a small motor can also be used. It is advisable to use multiple rotating brushes as needed. For example, if two rotating brushes are arranged as shown in Figure 4 and rotated in opposite directions, they will be symmetrical with respect to the center line of the hood and a natural flow will occur, resulting in a high degree of cleaning. Cleaning can be done quickly. It goes without saying that cleaning efficiency increases when the rotating brush is as long as possible. The mounting direction of the rotating brush, that is, whether the hood is vertically or horizontally long, can be selected depending on the shape of the wall surface. For example, when cleaning something with a wall that is not flat, such as a tank, it may be advantageous to install it vertically. This problem is solved by allowing the entire arm or hood to rotate 90 degrees about the center of the arm. In addition to the above-described winding and feeding of the wire, the cleaning means can be moved up and down by fixing an arm to the top of the pole and extending and contracting the pole. The extension of the pole is easily controlled by a motor.
This is done by letting out a spring with a pinion means and using this spring telescopically, that is, by pushing up from the innermost tube of the multiple tubes and sequentially applying it to the outside, etc. When retracting, it is preferable to do the opposite. The same applies to the arm. Of course, it is also possible to use hydraulic pressure or other means. If the cleaning means is equipped with a remotely controllable monitor television camera 9 as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, it will be convenient to monitor the cleaning work and operate the self-propelled cart. Effects of the Invention The wall cleaning device of the present invention can be used in any room or tank as long as it has a floor on which a self-propelled trolley can run and walls that are almost vertical. Satisfactory cleaning can be carried out without the risk of material damage.
