Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of attraction by applying texturing and magnetic films covering photolithographic patterns on at least either of the front surface and rear surface of a magnetic disk substrate and forming protective films thereon. CONSTITUTION:The many dotty photolithographic patterns 5 formed by a photolithographic technique are formed uniformly at prescribed intervals in the magnetic head 2 moving region of at least the front surface or rear surface of the magnetic disk 1. Further, many concentrical grooves 6a formed by the texturing 6 are formed. The patterns 5 project from the surface of the disk 1 as shown in Fig. The base of the magnetic head 2 and the photolithographic patterns 5 on the surface of the disk 1 come into contact with each other in such a manner and, therefore, the contact is not the contact of the mirror finished surfaces with each other and the generation of the attraction is obviated.

2. Description of the Related Art In a disk-shaped magnetic disk used in a magnetic recording device of a computer, signals are written and read by a magnetic head.
This magnetic head comes into contact with the surface of the magnetic disk when the magnetic disk is stopped, and floats due to the pressure of the air flow generated on the surface of the magnetic disk when the magnetic disk is rotated. I am supposed to do it.

Therefore, the stopped state and the floating running state of the magnetic head will be described. At the time of starting the magnetic disk, the magnetic head is in a state of being pressed against the surface of the magnetic disk by the spring pressure of the spring plate member supporting itself. When the magnetic disk starts rotating from this state, the magnetic head slides while being in contact with the rotating magnetic disk.

Then, as the rotational speed of the magnetic disk is improved, the lift force due to the air flow generated on the surface of the magnetic disk rises, and when this lift force overcomes the spring pressure applied to the magnetic head, the magnetic head gently moves on the magnetic disk surface. It floats above the magnetic disk while maintaining the flying height determined by the shape of the magnetic head, the spring pressure, and the peripheral speed of the magnetic disk.

That is, the magnetic head rubs the surface of the magnetic disk while being pressed by the spring pressure from the start of the rotation of the magnetic disk to the start of the floating of the magnetic head. For this reason, conventionally, the surface of the magnetic disk or the surface of the magnetic head facing the medium is abraded, and in some cases the frictional force rises abnormally, causing the surface of the magnetic disk to crash (crash), and the recorded contents of the magnetic disk can be read. It was sometimes gone. Further, when the frictional force between the magnetic head and the magnetic disk abnormally rises to a value equal to or higher than the rotational torque of the magnetic disk, the magnetic disk no longer rotates, which may result in failure of the magnetic recording device.

As an example of the laminated film formed on the Ni-P coating film 15, the structure shown in FIG. 11B can be adopted. In FIG. 11B, the laminated film has a thickness of 1500.
A Cr layer 16 having a thickness of about Å, a magnetic layer 17 formed on the Cr layer 16 having a thickness of about 700 Å, such as a Co-Ni layer or a Co-Ni-Cr layer, and a thickness laminated on the magnetic layer 17. Three
The protective film 18 is made of C having a thickness of about 00Å, and the lubricating film 19 is coated on the protective film 18. Further, texturing is formed on the coating film 15 made of Ni-P or the like. The texturing is a large number of concavo-convex groove-shaped rings having an average roughness Ra of about 0.002 to 0.1 μm formed concentrically on the upper surface of the coating film 15. Therefore, on the surfaces of the magnetic layer 17 and the protective film 18 laminated on the texturing, the uneven groove having a shape matching the uneven groove of the texturing is formed.

The texturing provided on the substrate of the conventional magnetic disk having the above-mentioned structure has the effect of reducing the adsorption phenomenon that occurs between the medium facing surface of the magnetic head and the surface of the magnetic disk. That is, the attraction phenomenon is avoided by reducing the contact area between the magnetic head in contact with the magnetic disk and the surface of the magnetic disk. In addition to this effect, the texturing also has a magnetic film 17 coated on the surface of the texturing.
To provide magnetic anisotropy, excellent reproduction output and resolution, and less DC erasing noise. However, even if the above-described texturing is formed, in some cases, the frictional force of the magnetic head against the magnetic disk may be abnormally increased, which may impede the rotation of the magnetic disk.

Further, in the polishing step for forming the texturing, when the polishing liquid is supplied while the polishing liquid is being supplied onto the coating film 15, in the final stage of the polishing process, the polishing liquid does not flow concentrically but flows obliquely. An uneven groove may be formed, and when such an oblique uneven groove is formed, a waviness may be generated on the surface of the magnetic disk along the uneven groove.

According to the present invention, by forming a photolithographic pattern on the texturing on the magnetic disk substrate, a projecting pattern is formed on the surface of the completed magnetic disk. When in contact with the magnetic disk, the magnetic head can be brought into contact with the magnetic disk through a plurality of patterns formed in the shape of the magnetic disk. In this case, the magnetic head does not attract the magnetic disk to the magnetic disk, so that the deterioration of the magnetic recording characteristics and the failure of the magnetic recording device can be avoided.

Further, in the conventional magnetic disk, when the texturing is formed, the polishing eyes remain on the surface of the completed magnetic disk, and by contacting this with the magnetic head,
Although it may adversely affect the flying start of the magnetic head, in the magnetic disk according to the present invention, by forming a photolithographic pattern on the surface of the texturing,
The effect of the remaining polish on the eyes is canceled out, the smoothness of the surface of the magnetic disk is maintained, and the floating running of the magnetic head can be carried out smoothly.

Further, when the texturing is provided on the magnetic disk substrate and the photolithographic pattern is provided on the surface of the protective film, the following effects can be expected. Conventionally, the texturing is designed in depth, pitch, etc. in order to achieve the two purposes of giving magnetic anisotropy to the magnetic film and avoiding the adsorption phenomenon between the surface of the magnetic disk and the magnetic head. However, by providing texturing on the magnetic disk substrate and forming a photolithographic pattern on the protective film of the magnetic disk, the texturing imparts magnetic anisotropy to the magnetic film and improves the magnetic characteristics of the magnetic disk. The optimum depth, pitch, etc. are designed only for the purpose of improving the magnetic characteristics of the magnetic disk, while the photolithographic pattern formed on the protective film forms irregularities on the surface of the magnetic disk. However, the contact between the magnetic disk and the magnetic head can be made point contact to avoid the attraction phenomenon between the magnetic disk and the magnetic head.

Further, on at least one of the front surface and the back surface of the magnetic disk 1, in the moving region of the magnetic head 2, photolithographic patterns 5 ... Formed by a dot-shaped photolithography technique are formed on the surface of the magnetic disk. A large number of grooves 6a are formed uniformly at predetermined intervals, and further, a large number of concentric circular grooves 6a are formed by the texturing 6 described later. This pattern 5 is projected from the surface of the magnetic disk 1 as shown in FIG. Since the magnetic disk 1 has a single-sided type in which a magnetic layer is formed only on the surface and a double-sided type in which a magnetic layer is formed on both sides, the single-sided type has a photolithographic pattern 5 formed only on the surface, In this case, the photolithographic pattern 5 can be formed on both front and back surfaces.

That is, in the final step of forming the conventional texturing, polishing eyes are left on the magnetic disk substrate, and as a result, they remain as waviness on the surface of the completed magnetic disk. When the head comes into contact with the magnetic head, the flying posture of the magnetic head is deteriorated and the magnetic recording characteristics are deteriorated. However, in the magnetic disk according to the present invention, by forming a photolithographic pattern on the texturing, the polish eyes are formed. It is possible to offset the influence of the above, enhance the smoothness of the surface of the magnetic disk, stabilize the flying posture of the magnetic head when flying over the magnetic disk, and improve the magnetic recording characteristics.
