Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a display device by which the recording state of a video camera can be exactly recognized by sight from a back side. CONSTITUTION:A display member 16 which displays the recording state of a display device 12 of a video camera 10, which is mounted on the back face of the video camera so as to be freely attachable and detachable is connected through a curl code 18 with the video camera 10, and a grip 16a for fixing is provided at one part of the display member 16. Thus, the display device 12 which can be selectively fixed at a position where an obstacle interrupting a visibility such as an output cable 14 or a battery 15 is absent, and by which the recording state of the video camera can be exactly and easily recognized by sight, can be constituted.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION 1. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to a display device for a video camera, and more particularly to a display device for a video camera used for broadcasting.

2. Description of the Related Art In recent years, video cameras have been widely used for broadcasting and news gathering, and a display member which is turned on at the time of recording is provided on the rear surface of the video camera so as to inform the state other than the photographer.

A conventional display device will be described below. In FIG. 4, the video camera 1 is carried by the photographer 2. A display device 3 is arranged on the back surface of the video camera 1, and a switch 1a is arranged on the side surface thereof. A supervisor 4 is behind the photographer 2 and visually checks the display device 3 to monitor the photographing state of the video camera 1. An output cable 5 and a battery 6 are attached to the back surface of the video camera 1. In FIG. 5, the display member 7 is fixed to the back member 1b of the video camera 1 by a screw portion 7a and a nut 8 provided in a part thereof, and is connected to an internal circuit of the video camera 1 by a lead wire 9.

The operation of the display device 3 constructed as above will be described below.

First, when the photographer 2 presses the switch 1a of the video camera 1, a recording state is set and the display device 3 is turned on. The supervisor 4 who is behind the photographer 2 can confirm the lighting state of the display device 3 to know the recording state of the video camera 1.

However, in the above-mentioned conventional configuration, when the photographer 2 or the supervisor 4 moves, the display device 3 is hidden behind the output cable 5 and the battery 6, and the visibility is remarkably improved. It has a problem that it may be damaged.

The present invention solves the above-mentioned conventional problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide a display device in which a display member can be selectively fixed at a position where it can be easily seen by a supervisor.

In order to achieve this object, a display device of a video camera of the present invention is a display device having a display member which is detachably attached to the back surface of the video camera and which is turned on during recording. A curl cord connected to the back surface of the video camera in a stretchable manner, and a clip of the video camera for fixing the display member provided at the tip of the curl cord to a desired place are provided.

With the above construction, when the visibility from the supervisor deteriorates, the display device on the back of the video camera is taken out and placed on a position with better visibility, such as the photographer's clothes or the projection of the video camera. In FIG. 3, the display member 16 is fixed by a clip 16a provided on a part of the display member 16 sandwiching a rib 17a of a back member 17 of the video camera 10. Further, the display member 16 is connected to the internal circuit of the video camera 10 by a curl cord 18 which can expand and contract.
