Description of the Related Art In a non-aqueous electrolyte battery using manganese dioxide for the positive electrode and propylene carbonate as a solvent for the non-aqueous electrolyte, a large amount of gas is generated and swells during storage if left as it is after the battery is manufactured. However, there is a drawback that the performance deteriorates due to leakage, liquid leakage, or increase in internal resistance.

In this method, a constant current is flown within a few hours after the battery is manufactured to discharge a capacity of about 100 to 700 mAh, and a finished battery is obtained after this preliminary discharge step is completed.

The subsequent battery performance also had a defect that the battery capacity varied due to the preliminary discharge.

It has been found that gas generation can be suppressed. The present invention has been made based on the above findings, and an object thereof is to suppress generation of gas without performing preliminary discharge, and to make it possible to reduce variations in discharge capacity of completed batteries. Is provided.

When it is less than 0.1, for example, when the value is 0.1, the gas generation suppressing effect is small, and the battery after manufacturing is swollen. When the amount added exceeds 5, for example, when the amount is 6, the capacity of manganese dioxide, which is the main active material, decreases and the discharge capacity decreases.

However, a battery is formed by combining a separator, a light metal such as lithium and sodium, and injecting ethylene carbonate or propylene carbonate and a non-aqueous electrolytic solution containing this and ether as a solvent.

It is presumed that this is because the addition of calcium iodide deactivates the active component, which is a decomposition component of the manganese dioxide active material, in a uniform state before the formation of the battery, and thus prevents the decomposition of the carbonates.
