Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase strength by forming non-perforated sections without through-holes on both edges of a perforated film in an ink jet printer provided with a perforated film provided with very fine through-holes, an ink roller for filling ink into the through-holes and a thermal head. CONSTITUTION:Ink is filled in a number of very fine through-holes 11 provided on a perforated film 1. Pulse signals are issued to a thermal head 3 being in contact with the rear face of the perforated film 1, and ink filled in the through- holes 11 is heated to form ink drops, which are jetted toward a component 4 to be recorded disposed on the front face of the perforated film 1 and made to adhere thereon and printing is carried out. The perforated film 1 is linked with the uniform rate in the given direction, and the ink is replenished into through-holes 11 jetted in the positions adjacent to the thermal head 3 by an ink roller 2 to prepare for following printing. The perforated film 1 is composed of a perforated section 12 with through-holes 11 at its center and non-perforated sections 13 without through-holes 11 on both edges, and strength is increased to a large extent by the action of the non-perforated sections 13.

In the ink jet printer shown in FIG. 3, ink is held in a large number of through holes 32 formed in a film 31, and the ink is heated by a thermal head 33 and boiled so that the ink is ejected and printed on a printing paper 34. Printing is performed by depositing ink droplets on the to form characters and figures. This method uses a large number of through holes 32 formed in the film 31 as nozzles without using a fixed nozzle, and sequentially moves a large number of through holes 32 formed in the film 31 while moving the film 31. Since the ink filled therein is boiled and ejected, it is difficult to cause clogging.

In FIG. 2, a large number of minute through holes 11 (see FIG. 1) provided in the perforated film 1 are filled with ink. A thermal head 3 is disposed in contact with the back surface of the perforated film 1, and the thermal head 3 is provided with a pulse signal so that the through hole 1
The ink filled in 1 is heated to form ink droplets,
Printing is performed by causing the ink droplets to fly toward and adhere to a recording member (printing paper) 4 arranged on the front surface of the perforated film 1. The perforated film 1 is moving at a constant speed in a certain direction. An inking roller 2 is in contact with the back surface of the perforated film 1 at a position adjacent to the thermal head 3.
Prepares for the next printing by supplying ink to the through hole 11 after the flight. The inking roller 2 is supplied with ink from an ink container (not shown).
