However, this device has a complicated configuration in that it requires a light receiver made up of many segments to capture the optical image pattern of the surface to be measured, and the direction of movement that can be detected depends on the arrangement direction of the segments. is defined, and has the problem that it is not suitable in principle for detecting the moving speed and moving direction when the moving direction changes.

Approximately 8 bits is sufficient. For example, in the case of 1 bit, the intensity of light captured by each photodiode P p to P x is simply divided into two levels, ``bright'' and ``dark.'' Specifically, it is necessary to use a comparison circuit. I can do it.
When using more than 1 bit, the intensity of the detected light can be divided into three or more levels from "bright" to "dark", and specifically, an A/D converter can be used.

A moving direction detecting device is provided, which is capable of suitably detecting the direction of relative movement between relatively moving objects.
In addition, no complicated calculations are required in this case, and the direction of movement can be determined simply by comparing the data from which remote point sensor is most similar to the data from the origin sensor. It has the advantage that it can be implemented with a simple configuration.
