In FIG. 3, when the image input device 1 of the present invention is viewed from the front, the two-dot chain line indicates the stored state, the solid line indicates the set state, and the two-dot chain line of the right arm 6 indicates the angle of the flexible portion 6a. One adjusted state is shown. The angle adjustment of the flexible portion 6a is performed depending on the form of the document. For example, if the document is thin and flat, there is no need to adjust the angle of the flexible portion 6a. In this case, the illumination light directed toward the stage 10 from the illumination lamp 5 shown by the solid line uniformly illuminates the stage 10 and the surface of the document, and is reflected as shown in the figure. Since this reflected light and the direct light from the illumination lamp 5 are not directly incident on the zoom lens 16, flare and ghosts do not occur, and a clear image without unevenness can be captured.

Next, in order to store the image input device 1 of the present invention, first rotate the head section 3 and open the zoom lens 1.
6 is inserted between the pillars 4, the locking mechanism built in the shaft 12 is released from the locked state, and the pillars 4 are laid down. When the support column 4 is lowered, the operation panel 11 is covered by the cover 7a as shown in FIG. Next, if the flexible portion 6a has been operated, return it to its original position, and then fold the arm 6 in the same way as when folding an eyeglass frame. It will be stored. At this time, the decorative lid 18 is pulled back by a spring attached to the hinge 19 to cover the opening of the groove 2a.
