Purpose of the invention (1) Industrial application field The present invention applies a conductive primer to a part of the surface of a synthetic resin component, which is set as a non-painting area, except for the non-painting area. The present invention relates to an electrostatic coating method for synthetic resin parts for electrostatically coating a top coat after coating.

During electrostatic painting, a metal material such as aluminum foil is tightly fixed on the side opposite to the surface of the synthetic resin part to avoid a decrease in conductivity due to a decrease in the content of the conductive filler and to obtain a good finish quality. This is what we are trying to do.

A simple combination of this and the conventional method described above requires a process of grounding the conductive primer, a process of grounding the metal substance, and a process of pasting masking tape, which results in excellent work efficiency. I can't say that.

First, in FIG. 1, a vehicle bumper 1 as a synthetic resin component has a surface 2 having a linear non-contact extending between both ends in the longitudinal direction. A painted area 3 is set, and the surface 2 excluding this non-painted area 3 is electrostatically coated according to the method of the present invention.

This conductive tape 4 may be made of any material as long as it has conductivity; for example, it may be made of aluminum. Furthermore, as long as the entire non-painted area 3 is masked, the conductive tape 4 may be attached in any way, but considering the grounding work described later, it is necessary to attach both ends of the conductive tape 4 to the vehicle. It is desirable to attach it to the back side of the bumper 1 for use.

The paint truck 5 and the receiving portion 6 are made of conductive metal, and the upper surface of the receiving portion 6 is formed to correspond to the shape of the back surface of the vehicle bumper 1. Therefore, by placing the vehicle bumper 1 on the receiving part 6, both ends of the conductive tape 4 are brought into close contact with the receiving part 6, and the conductive tape 4 is grounded.

After this drying process, as shown in FIG. 6, by peeling off the conductive tape 4, it is possible to obtain a product whose surface 2 is electrostatically coated, except for the uncoated area 3 that remains uncoated. .

Since the conductive tape 4 is used to mask the bumper 1 and the conductive tape 4 is grounded, there is no need to ground the conductive primer 7 that is painted over the conductive tape 4. It becomes unnecessary to ground a metal substance in close contact with the back surface of the device. Therefore, the number of work steps can be reduced and work efficiency can be improved.

Effects of the Invention As described above, according to the method of the present invention, there are a step of masking the non-painted area with a conductive tape, a step of grounding the conductive tape, and a step of coating the entire surface of the synthetic resin part with a conductive primer. The steps of electrostatically applying a top coat on the conductive primer and peeling off the conductive tape are sequentially performed in this order. By grounding the conductive tape, the work of grounding the conductive primer and the work of adhering a metal substance to the back surface of the synthetic resin component and the work of grounding, which were conventionally necessary, are no longer necessary, and work efficiency can be improved.
