[Industrial Application Field] This invention relates to grip covers for sports equipment such as golf clubs, fishing rods, rackets, etc., and is particularly aimed at providing a grip cover made of a special viscoelastic material with high energy absorption ability. It is. [Prior Art] Conventionally, grips for sports equipment, etc. have been made to prevent slipping by changing the shape of the grip, forming ridges, wrapping a linear object, wrapping with cloth, or forming groove patterns on the outer surface of elastic rubber. The company has taken measures such as: However, changing the shape of the grip, such as a square shape, to prevent slipping not only requires a considerable amount of man-hours to process, but also tends to lead to finger fatigue and a decline in grip strength over time. ,
Furthermore, when used, it has a subtle influence on the direction of the ball, especially in ball games. Furthermore, in recent years, soft rubber tubular grips having a hollow portion that fits into the grip portion of the shaft of a golf club have been used, but they tend to be too elastic and lack energy absorption ability. In other words, the effect of the soft rubber suppresses the slipperiness considerably from the surface of the shaft, but due to the excessive elasticity of the rubber and the low adhesion with the core, when gripping the palm, the surface of the shaft is in close contact with the shaft. The defect was that it was difficult to ensure operability. [Problems that the invention aims to solve] In order to solve the above-mentioned conventional defects, this invention
Even though it has a conventional grip shape, it does not slip, has appropriate elasticity and energy absorption ability, and has excellent adhesion to the grip core and palm surface, so that it can operate integrally with the core. The purpose of this project is to search for a grip cover that can ensure extremely good grip and a material for it. [Means for solving the problem] As mentioned above, in order to improve the defects of the conventionally used soft rubber with high elasticity, the ratio of the viscous component to the elasticity of the viscoelastic body itself of the rubber-like material was improved. The grip increases in size to form a special viscoelastic body exhibiting a special viscoelastic curve with appropriate high energy absorption ability, which increases the close fixation with the grip core and the adhesion with the palm surface. The structure ensures integral operation with the core body. The viscous parts that affect the viscoelastic behavior of polymeric materials are components such as polymers, plasticizers, and softeners.
By increasing the volume fraction of these components,
The peak value of Tanδ moves to the high temperature side, and
It is sufficient to select and use a component type that provides a high value of Tanδ. Examples of such components include high hysteresis polymers such as polynorbornene and polyisobutylene, special resins that are compatible with these polymer components to increase Tg, and tackifiers such as coumaron resins and petroleum-based resins. The special viscoelastic body of the present invention made of this kind of material has a rebound resilience of 15% or less according to JIS K6301, and is measured at -5℃ to 30℃ by applying 110Hz sine vibration using the non-resonant method according to JIS K6394. A rubber composition having a high energy absorption ability with a loss tangent value of 0.5 or more in the range of The modulus and hardness are adjusted according to the application. As a material that exhibits such characteristics, a composition in which the above-mentioned polynorbornene polymer is blended with a relatively large amount of a tackifier and a softener such as coumaron resin or petroleum-based resin is preferable, and this is combined with the usual additives for rubber. agents (reinforcing materials such as short fibers, fillers, vulcanization accelerators,
An example of this is a rubber composition in which a viscoelastic body made of such a rubber composition is molded into a hollow shape. This is to eliminate the deficiencies of [Function] As mentioned above, the hollow grip cover of this invention is made of a rubber composition having a high energy absorption ability with a rebound resilience of 15% or less and a loss tangent value of 0.5 or more in the room temperature range, or the rubber composition. Because it is made of a special viscoelastic material made by adding short fibers to the material, it does not slip during use, exhibits appropriate elasticity and energy absorption ability, and can be operated in an integrated manner through close contact with the core and palm surface. guaranteed and provides excellent grip. [Example] Next, aspects of the invention will be described based on exemplary drawings. FIG. 1 shows an example of a hollow grip cover set on the grip portion of the shaft of a golf club according to the present invention, and in this case, the outer surface thereof is formed in the shape of a truncated cone. In the figure, 1 is a hollow grip cover, and 2 is a hollow part into which the grip part of the shaft is inserted.
3 is a special viscoelastic body, which is composed of a polynorbornene rubber composition whose formulation is shown in Table 1. The rebound resilience of this special viscoelastic body 3 is 3%, and the loss tangent value in the temperature range of -5°C to 30°C is 0.5 or more, as shown by the solid line in Fig. 2.
Its peak value is 2.23. The rebound resilience was measured using JIS K6301, and the loss tangent value was measured using the non-resonant method of JIS K6394.
Measured at 110Hz.

The grip cover of this invention is a special viscoelastic material that meets the above requirements with an increased proportion of viscous parts, and provides excellent adhesion to the grip core and the palm surface of the grip, which cannot be achieved with conventional elastic rubber grips. It has a high slip resistance and exhibits the property of being attached integrally with the grip core, and the ease of stretching due to increased viscosity can be adjusted appropriately with short fibers depending on the application. without decreasing
It supports grip strength and exhibits the characteristics of a grip cover that operates integrally with the core body.
