Abstract
Description
Claims (13)
- 1.第1の波長で1次蛍光ピークに関連した3レベルレーザ転移を行う活性材料 によってドープされる光導波体を具備している光導波体増幅器において、導波体 が第1の波長よりも長い第2の波長で光ポンプパワーを供給する少なくとも第1 の光ポンプソースに結合されていることを特徴とする光導波体増幅器。
- 2.導波体が希土類イオンによってドープされた二酸化珪素をベースとしたファ イバを具備する請求項1記載の増幅器。
- 3.導波体がドープされたSiO2−Al2O3−GeO2光ファイバを具備し 、活性材料がEr3+である請求項2記載の増幅器。
- 4.第2の波長が1.54μm乃至1.57μmである請求項3記載の増幅器。
- 5.第2の波長が1.55μmである請求項4記載の増幅器。
- 6.第1の波長よりも短い第3の波長で光ポンプパワーを供給する第2の光ポン プソースが含まれている請求項1乃至5のいずれか1項記載の増幅器。
- 7.第2の光ポンプソースが約1.47μmでポンプパワーを供給している半導 体レーザである請求項4および5のいずれかに依存している請求項6記載の増幅 器。
- 8.第1の光導波体増幅器と同じ活性材料によってドープされる導波体を具備し 、第1の波長よりも短い波長で光ポンプパワーを供給する第3の光ポンプソース を含んでいる第2の光導波体増幅器と、第1および第2の光導波体増幅器のそれ ぞれ1つに光信号の一部分を結合する光カプラ手段と、第1および第2の光導波 体増幅器に沿った伝播後に光信号の一部分を結合する光結合手段とを具備してお り、請求項1乃至7のいずれか記載の第1の光導波体増幅器を具備している光導 波体増幅器。
- 9.光カプラ手段および光結合手段が光ファイバカプラから構成されている請求 項2乃至7のいずれかに依存している請求項8記載の光導波体増幅器。
- 10.第2の波長よりも長い第4の波長で光信号のソースが結合されている請求 項1乃至9のいずれか記載の光導波体増幅器を具備している光伝送システム。
- 11.各光ポンプソースからのポンプパワーを供給し、光信号が第2の波長より も長い波長を有する請求項1乃至9のいずれか記載の光導波体増幅器に光信号を 結合することを具備している光信号の増幅方法。
- 12.図1あるいは図7に関連して説明されるような光増幅器。
- 13.図面に関連して説明されるような光信号の増幅方法。
