Description

The present invention relates to a pulse sensor mounting structure for electrically detecting an abnormality such as drowsiness of a driver.
【0002】[0002]
With the development of electronics, vehicles are becoming high-performance and high-function. The higher the performance and functionality of vehicles, the more the vehicle performance can be explained without considering the driver, that is, the human being, from the viewpoint of information processing. It's gone. By the way, in the case of long distance driving at night or poor physical condition such as lack of sleep, it becomes easy to feel drowsiness during driving, and especially in a flat rhythm driving state such as constant speed driving, it is easy to fall asleep. .. When the driver perceives such a state, it may be very difficult to actively talk with the passenger or chew the gum to maintain the awake state.
Therefore, in recent years, when an abnormal state such as falling asleep of the driver occurs, various devices have been proposed that detect the abnormal state and generate an alarm to alert the driver. There is. Sensors used in drowsiness detection devices that detect anomalies such as a driver's drowsiness are those that detect slight electrical resistance between the skin during awakening and drowsiness, fluctuations in pulse (heartbeat), etc. It is used.
The principle of derivation of the electrocardiogram is adopted when detecting the fluctuation of the pulse, and what is called the I-th derivation in which the negative terminal of the electrocardiograph is connected to the right arm and the positive terminal is connected to the left arm is usually adopted. ing. The electrocardiographic recording by this first derivation shows that when a certain point on the chest where the right arm is connected is negative with respect to a certain point on the chest where the left arm is connected, the electrocardiographic recording becomes positive and the electrocardiogram is zero. The electrocardiographic recording has a waveform that goes above the voltage line and goes vice versa.
As shown in FIGS. 9 and 10, the pulse sensor of the drowsiness detection device to which the above principle is applied is arranged in a normal operating state of the steering wheel 1, that is, when the steering wheel 1 is moved in a straight or gentle curve. A contact type pulse sensor (plus electrode) 2 is provided at a portion which is gripped by both left and right hands in a driving state where it is not moved (turned) too much, that is, portions 1a and 1b in the vicinity of both sides in a radial direction of the steering wheel 1 respectively. When the pulse sensor (minus electrode) 3 is attached and the driver grips the vicinity of the parts 1a and 1b of the steering wheel 1, the pulse sensor 2 comes into contact with the left hand (left arm) and the pulse sensor 3 comes into contact with the right hand. It is configured to be connected to the negative electrode.
【0006】[0006]
However, in the pulse sensor having the above structure, the grip portions 1a and 1b of the steering wheel 1, that is, the pulse sensors 2 and 3 must be always gripped by both the left and right hands, which greatly restricts the driving behavior of the driver. There are some driving habits and relaxing movements that each driver has. For example, some drivers hold the steering wheel 1 with their left hand and hang their right hand on the armrest to do one-handed driving. On the contrary, the steering wheel 1 with their right hand. There are also drivers who hold the vehicle and put their left hand on the shift knob of the shift lever for one-handed driving, and it is difficult to drive because it is not possible to absorb (accept) the habits and relaxing movements of each driver. There is a problem.
The present invention has been made in view of the above points, and provides a pulse sensor mounting structure capable of detecting a pulse without unnecessarily restricting driving operation behavior of a driver. With the goal.
【0008】[0008]
In order to achieve the above object, according to the present invention, first and second pulse sensors having polarities different from each other are provided at portions of the steering wheel that are frequently held by both left and right hands, and The third pulse sensor is provided at the gripping part of the shift knob located on one side, and the fourth pulse sensor is installed at the part of the armrest of the door located on the other side where the hand is frequently placed. The pulse sensor on the left-hand side of the pulse sensors of 4 has the same polarity as the first pulse sensor, and the pulse sensor on the right-hand side of the pulse sensor has the same polarity as the second pulse sensor. Is.

When the driver holds the steering wheel with both his left and right hands, the pulse of the driver is detected by the first and second pulse sensors, the steering wheel is held with his left hand, and his right hand is placed on the armrest of the door. When the vehicle is in the left state, the first pulse sensor and, for example, the fourth pulse sensor detect the pulse of the driver. Conversely, when the right hand holds the steer wheel and the left hand holds the shift knob or the left hand is placed on the shift knob, the second pulse sensor and the third pulse sensor detect the pulse of the driver. To do.
【0010】[0010]
An embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings. FIG. 1 shows the inside of a vehicle to which the present invention is applied, and a direct control type is adopted as a gear shift operation unit. The vehicle 10 includes a steering wheel 11 and a shift knob 12 arranged on the left side of the steering wheel 11. The contact-type pulse sensors 15, 16, 17 and 18 are provided on the armrest 13 of the driver's door on the right side of the steering wheel 11.
That is, as shown in FIG. 2, the steering wheel 11 is set in a normal driving state as described above, that is, in a traveling state in which the steering wheel 11 does not move (turn) too much, such as a straight line or a gentle curve. The pulse sensors 15 and 16 are electrically connected to each other at predetermined portions along the circumferential direction at portions (hereinafter, referred to as “grasping portions”) 11a and 11b near the left and right sides on the diameter in the left-right direction that are gripped at a certain time. Installed in an insulated state.
Note that the lengths of the pulsation sensors 15 and 16 along the circumferential direction are longer than the width of the palm of the driver, and it is sufficient even if the portion gripping the steering wheel 11 is slightly deviated due to individual differences of the driver. The length is set so that it can be grasped and contacted. The left pulse sensor 15 held by the left hand is, for example, a positive electrode, and the right pulse sensor 16 held by the right hand is a negative electrode.
A pulse sensor 17 is attached to the upper surface 12a of the shift knob 12 as shown in FIGS. 4 and 5, and the pulse sensor 17 is used when the driver holds the shift knob 12 with his left hand during a gear shift operation. It is arranged so as to be gripped together with the shift knob 12 or to be contacted when the left hand is placed on the shift knob 12. The driver grips the steering wheel 11 with the right hand and the shift knob 12 with the left hand when performing a shift operation. When the driver grips the steering wheel 11 with the right hand and operates one hand, the left hand frequently holds the shift knob 12 or is placed on the shift knob 12. Therefore, the pulse sensor 17 provided on the upper surface of the shift knob 12 is the same plus electrode as the pulse sensor 15 provided on the steering wheel 11.
As a result, even when the driver holds the grip portion 11b of the steering wheel 11 with the right hand and holds the shift knob 12 with the left hand or operates the one hand with the left hand placed on the shift knob 12, the right hand is operated. The pulse sensor 16 and the left hand come into contact with the pulse sensor 17, so that the left hand can be connected to the positive electrode and the right hand to the negative electrode.
Further, as shown in FIGS. 6 and 7, a pulse sensor 18 is provided at a predetermined portion of the upper surface 13a of the armrest 13 of the door on the driver's side, and the driver operates the steering wheel 11 with his left hand. It is set so that it can be gripped and placed on the pulse sensor 18 when the right hand is placed on the armrest 13, or can contact the pulse sensor 18. When the driver holds the grip portion 11a of the steering wheel 11 with his left hand and operates one hand, the driver often places his right hand on the armrest 13. Therefore, the pulse sensor 18 is the same negative electrode as the pulse sensor 16 provided on the steering wheel 11.
As a result, even when the driver holds the steering wheel 11 with his / her left hand and puts his / her right hand on the armrest 13 for one-handed driving, the right hand can contact the sensor 16 and the left hand can contact the pulse sensor 17, and the left hand can be contacted. It is possible to connect the positive electrode to the negative electrode and the right hand to the negative electrode. Therefore, the driver holds the steering wheel 11 with the right hand and holds the shift knob 12 with the left hand or puts it on the shift knob 12, or holds the steering wheel 11 with the left hand and puts the right hand on the armrest 13 for one-handed driving. In this case, the left hand can contact the positive electrode and the right hand can contact the negative electrode. These pulse sensors 15 to 18 are connected to the drowsiness detection device 20 shown in FIG.
The operation will be described below. When the driver grips the vicinity of the gripping portions 11a and 11b of the steering wheel 11 in a traveling state where the steering wheel 11 does not move much such as going straight or a gentle curve, the left hand and the right hand respectively. The pulse sensors 15 and 16 are gripped together with the steering wheel 11 and are in contact with them. Therefore, the driver's left hand is connected to the positive electrode and the right hand is connected to the negative electrode.
When the driver holds the grip portion 11 b of the steering wheel 11 with the right hand and holds the shift knob 12 with the left hand or places the left hand on the shift knob 12, the right hand is the pulse sensor 16 and the left hand is the pulse. The left hand is connected to the positive electrode, and the right hand is connected to the negative electrode in contact with the sensor 17. On the contrary, when the driver holds the grip portion 11a of the steering wheel 11 with the right hand and puts the right hand on the armrest 13 for one-handed driving, the left hand contacts the pulse sensor 15 and the right hand contacts the pulse sensor 18, The left hand is connected to the positive electrode and the right hand is connected to the negative electrode. As a result, the driver frequently contacts his / her left and right hands with the pulse sensor without unnecessarily restricting the driving operation behavior.
The driver's pulse (heartbeat) signals detected by the pulse sensors 15 to 18 are amplified by the amplifier 21 of the drowsiness detection device 20 (FIG. 8) and then added to the pulse shaping processing circuit 22. The pulse shaping processing circuit 22 extracts, for example, an R waveform signal that is relatively easy to extract from the pulse signal including many waveform signals. This R waveform signal is converted into a pulse signal by the A / D converter 23 and subjected to time series conversion processing, and then applied to the arithmetic processing circuit 24. The arithmetic processing circuit 24 recognizes the pattern of the input signal to determine whether the driver is in an awake state with a high consciousness level, or if the consciousness level is lower than the wakeful state and the driver is in a drowsiness state. When it is determined that the driver is in a drowsiness state or is in a drowsiness state, the alarm 25 is activated to generate an alarm and alert the driver.
In the above embodiment, the case where the steering wheel 11 is arranged on the right side has been described. However, in the case where the steering wheel 11 is arranged on the left side, the shift knob 12 is used. The positions of the armrest 13 and the armrest 13 are opposite to each other with respect to the steering wheel 11, so that the pulse sensor 17 arranged on the shift knob 12 has the same polarity as the pulse sensor 16 of the grip portion on the right side of the steering wheel. It suffices that the pulse sensor provided on the left side of the steering wheel 11 has the same polarity as the pulse sensor 15 on the left side of the steering wheel 11.
【0021】[0021]
As described above, according to the present invention, the parts of the steering wheel that are gripped by both left and right hands, the shift knob that the driver frequently puts his left hand when driving with one hand, and the door that frequently puts his right hand when driving with one hand. By attaching the pulse sensors of fixed polarity to the armrests of each driver, it becomes possible to detect the driver's pulse without unnecessarily restricting the driver's driving operation behavior. It is possible to absorb the motion, and it is easy to adopt the contact type pulse sensor.
