A method of accessing between songs in a conventional compact disc player will be explained below. First, all the absolute position data (TOC data) between songs of all the songs recorded in the TOC area of the compact disc is stored in a dedicated storage device, and then the data from that storage device is stored.
The TOC data is compared with the current location, and the direction and amount of access to the target location are determined and accessed. That is, by reading the absolute value of the current position from the compact disk, and on the other hand, retrieving the absolute value of the desired inter-track position from the storage device that has been stored in advance, and comparing both of the above values, the absolute value of the difference between the two can be determined. This is the access amount, and the sign of the calculation result indicates the access direction.

However, the above method requires a dedicated storage device for storing TOC data. Up to 99 songs can be recorded on a compact disk, so if you want to store all of this TOC data, you will need a storage device with a total capacity of 16 x 99 bits, as one TOC data consists of 16 bits. Therefore, this storage device had the disadvantage of increasing the cost of the entire set.

DESCRIPTION OF EMBODIMENTS The access method of the present invention is shown in the figure. It is detected in which direction the gap between the songs to be accessed is compared with the absolute position data of the current position (absolute position data from the first song recorded in advance on the compact disc). Next, repeat the track jump to access the desired song. If you can access the desired song, you can find out where your current position is in the desired song from the address information on the compact disc. Therefore, by subtracting this data from the absolute position data of the current position recorded in advance on the compact disc, the absolute position between the target songs can be found, and it is possible to access between the songs using this absolute position data. This will be explained using a specific example. Consider the case of accessing between the 10th songs as shown in the figure. Repeat track jump 10 times
Suppose that point A of the song is accessed. At this time, if the absolute position data of the current position is 22 minutes 12 seconds and the mid-song position data is 2 minutes 05 seconds, then the absolute position data of the target inter-song position P is 2 minutes 05 seconds from 22 minutes 12 seconds. Subtract and find that it is 20 minutes 07 seconds. Therefore, if the absolute position data between the target songs is known, it becomes possible to access them easily.
