[Technical Field] The present invention relates to an optical information storage medium having a light-absorbing and reflective dye film on a substrate. More specifically, the present invention relates to an information storage medium for storing information in a recording layer by condensing and irradiating a laser beam. [Prior Art] Conventionally, various optical information storage media using a dye thin film as a recording layer are known. As shown in FIG. 1, this type of optical information storage medium 1 is composed of a transparent substrate 2 and a dye film 3. When used as an optical information storage medium 1, a laser beam 4 is directed onto a substrate 2 by a condensing lens 5.
A method is known in which recording and reproduction are performed by irradiating condensed light from the side, and the substrate 2 needs to be transparent. Information is recorded by irradiating the laser beam 4 with high power, and the dye film 3 is thermally changed by the absorbed light energy to form small holes (pits), depending on the presence or absence of the small holes. On the other hand, information is reproduced by irradiating a laser beam with a low power that does not destroy the pigment film and detecting the presence or absence of small holes based on the light reflected from the pigment film. A storage medium having such a structure can be manufactured by coating, which is an extremely productive method, and has the advantage of being industrially produced at low cost. The current situation is that this is quite difficult. [Objective] The object of the present invention is to improve the reliability of an optical information storage medium having a light-absorbing and reflective dye film on a substrate by achieving manufacturing stability and reflectance uniformity. be. [Structure] The present inventor used dyes with high light absorption coefficients such as cyanine dyes and triallylmethane dyes as dyes in the dye film in an optical information storage medium having the structure shown in FIG. 1 to improve light absorption. At the same time, it has been proposed that a high reflectance of 20 to 30%, comparable to that of metals, can be obtained, but the conditions for forming a pigmented film with high reflectance and good uniformity have not yet been investigated. Therefore, in order to achieve the above object, the present inventor conducted various studies on pigment films and found that the thickness of the pigment film is an important factor, leading to the present invention. That is, the present invention is to set the thickness of the light-absorbing and reflective dye film so that the reflectance is maximized. The dye used in the present invention is not particularly limited, and can be appropriately selected to provide a high reflectance of 20 to 30%, comparable to that of metals. Furthermore, the dye film in the present invention does not need to be composed of a dye alone, and may be formed by mixing it with other dyes or with a stabilizer such as a nickel complex. In addition, such a pigment film may contain other polymeric substances, various plasticizers, surfactants, antistatic agents, lubricants, flame retardants, dispersants, and the like. Further, a protective layer may be provided on the dye film, if necessary, or a subbing layer may be provided below the dye film, if necessary. The material of the substrate on which the dye film is provided is not particularly limited, and may be any of various plastics, glass, ceramics, metals, etc. Further, the recording medium of the present invention may have the above-described dye film on one surface of such a substrate, or may have dye films on both surfaces thereof. Furthermore, it is also possible to form a so-called sanderch structure in which a pair of substrates each having a dye film provided on one surface are arranged so that the dye films face each other. Next, the relationship between film thickness and reflectance according to the present invention will be explained with reference to Examples. For example, structural formula

According to the present invention, it is possible to obtain a pigment film that is uniform and exhibits high reflectance, which provides characteristics suitable for reflective optical disk memories, and also prevents changes in reflectance due to macroscopic or microscopic variations in pigment film thickness. It can be possible to suppress it to a minimum.
