As a result, the rotation urging force of the wiper arm 3 increases. In this case, the tension spring at the 7' position is extended compared to the tension spring at the 7 position, so the tension T' is increased, but this increase in tension is due to the increase in the length l' of the perpendicular line. It is very small in comparison. Therefore, the rotation biasing force of the wiper arm 3 is approximately equal to the length of the perpendicular line.
It can be seen as being proportional to l′.

When the lever shaft 12, the tension spring engaging arm of the L-shaped lever, and the fixed point 13 of the wiper arm are aligned in a straight line m'-m' due to the tension of the tension spring 7, the line m'-m' is called L. The above-mentioned shift distance l'' is set so that it is a bisector of the rotation angle φ of the letter-shaped lever.

When the wiper arm 1 and the tension spring 7 are in the position shown by the solid line, the rotation urging force of the wiper arm 3 is minimum (almost zero), and the wiper arm 3 is rotated when the L-shaped lever 11' and the tension spring 7' are in the position shown by the chain line. The biasing force becomes maximum.

The pivot shaft 4 and the hook 8 are aligned on a straight line S, and the rotation urging force of the wiper arm 3 is zero. The axis 12 of the L-shaped lever is offset downward in the figure compared to the line S mentioned above. To maintain this state (Fig. 2), it is necessary to apply the operating force of arrow f3 . This operating force changes the rotational output of the motor 14 to the screw means 1.
5 into a reciprocating motion, which is applied to the L-shaped lever 11 via a bracket 16. however,
The motor 14 is energized only when the L-shaped lever 11 is rotated, and the force for holding the L-shaped lever 11 in a constant position is provided by the frictional force of the screw means 15 and other forces.

As detailed above, by applying the present invention, the operating force required to adjust the pressing force of the variable pressure wiper can be significantly reduced (nearly half).
This has the effect that the pressing force of the wiper can be adjusted using a drive means with less power than the conventional one.
