The present invention relates to a tempo setting device for an automatic musical instrument, and more particularly to a tempo setting device capable of indicating a performance tempo to be set using a tempo motto. The applicant has previously proposed various automatic performance machines such as an autorhythm device, an auto arpeggio device, an auto bass chord (ABC) device, and a musical score data reading device. The tempo of automatic performance in these automatic performance machines is determined by a timing signal called a tempo clock signal. Conventionally, in a performance tempo setting device for this type of automatic performance machine, the performance tempo is graduated around the operating dial in units of "reference number of notes/1 minute", and a tempo clock signal is output as the operating dial is rotated. The frequency is configured to increase or decrease continuously. However, if such a continuous wave number variable method is adopted, it is difficult to operate quickly when, for example, you want to suddenly change the tempo from a slow tempo to a fast tempo. When only the tempo motto is displayed, such as in the case of a tempo motto, the tempo motto must be converted into a tempo numerical value, which is inconvenient for beginners. This invention was devised in view of the above-mentioned problems, and its purpose is to provide a tempo setting device that can quickly and easily set the tempo of automatic performance to a tempo corresponding to a desired tempo slogan. There is a particular thing. The tempo setting device for an automatic musical instrument according to the present invention includes (a) an input means for inputting tempo motto information corresponding to a desired tempo motto; and (b) tempo motto information inputted from the input means as the tempo motto. (c) means for generating a tempo clock signal for an automatic performance machine; and (d) converting means for converting the frequency of the tempo clock signal into corresponding frequency control information according to the frequency control information of the automatic performance machine. and tempo control means for controlling the tempo to a value corresponding to the tempo. In such a configuration, the input means may be one that inputs tempo motto information by a tempo motto designation operation (for example, a tempo motto selection switch), or one that inputs tempo motto information by voice (for example, a microphone). It may also be a voice recognition device (with a voice recognition device). According to the configuration of the present invention, by simply instructing a tempo motto such as "Allegro" by manual operation or voice, the tempo of the automatic performance is automatically set in accordance with the tempo motto specified. The invention will now be described in detail with reference to embodiments shown in the accompanying drawings. FIG. 1 shows an example of an automatic performance machine to which the present invention is applied. The illustrated device is an electronic keyboard instrument that is equipped with a musical score data reading device and is capable of automatic performance. The details of this device have already been filed in various applications by the applicant, so the entirety will be summarized here. I'll just limit myself to explaining. In the musical score data memory 1, note names, chord names, note lengths, etc. that constitute the musical score of a piece of music to be automatically played are encoded and stored in the order of performance. Each of these coded data is read out at a predetermined timing synchronized with the tempo clock signal TCL by the readout control circuit 2, supplied to the musical tone forming circuit 3, and converted into a musical tone signal corresponding to the musical score. After this musical tone signal is amplified by an amplifier 4, it is output from a speaker 5, and thus, for example, an automatic performance of a melody is performed. The keyboard 6 is composed of three keys consisting of upper, lower and pedal keys, and the key codes UKC, LKC,
PKC is output. The music forming circuit 7 forms and outputs musical sound signals corresponding to each key code UKC, LKC, and PKC output from the keyboard 6. For example, it forms and outputs a manual melody sound signal according to the key code UKC, and outputs a manual melody sound signal according to the key code LKC. A manual chord sound signal is formed and output according to the key code PKC, and a base sound signal based on foot operation is formed and output according to the key code PKC. The pattern generator 8 receives a tempo clock signal generated from a tempo clock generating device 9.
Generates timing signal T 1 for auto arpeggio, auto chord, and auto bass based on TCL, and also generates timing signal T 2 for auto rhythm based on tempo clock signal TCL.
is generated. The musical tone forming circuit 7 can automatically form an arpeggio tone signal, a chord tone signal, and a bass tone signal based on, for example, the chord name specified on the lower keyboard and the timing signal T1 . In addition, the rhythm sound forming circuit 1
0 can automatically form a rhythm sound signal based on the timing signal T2 . In this way, this electronic keyboard instrument can play manual melody sounds, manual chord sounds, and bass sounds based on foot operations, as well as automatic melody performance.
Various automatic performances such as automatic rhythm performance, automatic arpeggio performance, automatic bass chord performance, etc. are possible.
The tempo of these automatic performances is determined by the tempo clock signal TCL output from the tempo clock generator 9.
Determined based on. Next, an example of the tempo clock generator 9 (hereinafter referred to as a first embodiment) will be explained with reference to FIGS. 2 and 3. In Figure 2, 11a to 11e are the tempo mottos "Allegro", "Allegretto", "Moderato",
A tempo motto selection switch corresponding to "Andante" and "Adagio", 12 is a fine adjustment dial for finely adjusting the tempo, and 13 is a numerical value for displaying the tempo as the number of quarter notes per minute. This is a display device, and these devices are provided, for example, in the clapperboard of an electronic keyboard instrument. As shown in FIG. 3, the tempo motto selection switches 11a to 11e are mechanically interlocked with each other so as to perform a self-holding operation as an alternative. In the circuit shown in FIG. 3, five reference voltages Va, Vb, Vc, Vd, and Ve are output from the resistive voltage divider 15, and these reference voltages are output from the analog switch 16.
The signals are supplied to a voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) 17 via a to 16e, respectively. Analog switches 16a to 16e are switches 11a to 11, respectively.
The on/off state is controlled by the on signal (“1”) and off signal (“0”) from e. The variable resistor 18 is configured so that its resistance value changes continuously in conjunction with the rotation of the tuning dial 12, and outputs a voltage Vx. This voltage Vx is added to a reference voltage from one of the analog switches 16a to 16e and supplied to the oscillator 17 as a control voltage Vc. That is, when any of the switches 11a to 11e is turned on, the analog switch 1
Any one of 6a to 16e turns on and the oscillator 17
The sum of the voltage Vx and one of the voltages Va, Vb, Vc, Vd, and Ve (for example, Va+Vx) is supplied as the control voltage Vc. The oscillator 17 is configured to output a tempo clock signal TCL having a frequency corresponding to the control voltage Vc, and the automatic performance tempo is determined by the tempo clock signal TCL. Table 1 shows the tempo setting range that can be adjusted using the fine adjustment dial 12 for each of the switches 11a to 11e. In Table 1, the tempo is expressed in quarter notes per minute.

[Table] Same control voltage as supplied to oscillator 17
Vc is a digital value D 1 via the A/D converter 19
This digital value D1 is supplied to the conversion ROM 20 as an address signal. conversion
Tempo data (data representing the number of quarter notes per minute) TPD corresponding to each digital value D 1 is stored in each address of the ROM 20, and when the digital value D 1 is supplied, the digital value D Tempo data TPD corresponding to 1 is output from the conversion ROM 20. This tempo data TPD is converted into display drive data DD via the display control circuit 21, and upon receiving this data DD, the numerical display 13 numerically displays the current tempo as the number of quarter notes per minute. . According to the first embodiment described above, by simply turning on any of the switches 11a to 11e to which a tempo motto is attached, the tempo corresponding to the tempo motto of the turned-on switch can be instantly set as the tempo for automatic performance. I can do it. Furthermore, by operating the fine adjustment dial 12, it is possible to precisely set the desired tempo based on the numerical display. Next, another example of the tempo clock generator (hereinafter referred to as the second embodiment) will be explained with reference to FIGS. 4 and 5. In FIGS. 4 and 5, the same components as those in the first embodiment are designated by the same reference numerals, and the explanation thereof will be omitted. In FIG. 4, 11a to 11e are tempo motto selection switches, 13 is a numerical value display, and 22 is a fine adjustment slider for finely adjusting the tempo, and these are provided, for example, in the clapperboard of an electronic keyboard instrument. In FIG. 5, the variable frequency divider circuit 23 divides the frequency of the high-speed clock signal HCL output from the reference oscillator 24 and outputs the divided signal, and this output becomes the tempo clock signal.
Becomes TCL. When one of the switches 11a to 11e is turned on, the frequency division ratio memory 25 outputs frequency division ratio data D C1 corresponding to the turned on switch. The multi-variable changeover switch 26 is configured to perform a switching operation in conjunction with the slide of the fine adjustment slider 22, and each switching output is supplied to an encoder 27. The encoder 27 corresponds to the switching operation from the center position (0) of the changeover switch 26 to the left or right, -1, -2, -3... or +1, +2, +3...
Outputs division ratio fine adjustment data D C2 corresponding to . The adder circuit 28 adds and outputs the sentence frequency ratio data D C1 outputted from the frequency division ratio memory 25 and the sentence frequency ratio fine adjustment data D C2 output from the encoder 27, and this output is sent to the variable sentence frequency circuit 23. Division ratio setting data D C3
becomes. Bunshu ratio setting data D C3 is converted at the same time as conversion ROM29
is also supplied as an address signal. Conversion ROM
29 addresses store tempo data (data indicating the number of quarter notes per minute) TPD corresponding to each sentence ratio setting data D C3 , and when the digital value D C3 is supplied, the tempo data (data indicating the number of quarter notes per minute) TPD is stored. Tempo data TPD corresponding to the digital value DC3 is output from the conversion ROM 29. This tempo data TPD is converted to display drive data DD via the display control circuit 21, and in response to this data DD, the tempo at that time is numerically displayed as the number of quarter notes per minute on the numerical display 13. Ru. Thus, in this second embodiment as well, the first
The same effects as in the embodiment can be obtained, and the automatic performance tempo can be indicated using a tempo slogan. Next, still another example of the tempo clock generator (hereinafter referred to as the third embodiment) will be described with reference to FIGS. 6 and 7. In FIGS. 6 and 7, the same components as those in the first or second embodiment are given the same reference numerals, and the explanation thereof will be omitted. In FIG. 6, 12 is a fine adjustment dial, 13 is a numerical value display, 30 is a motto display for displaying a tempo motto, and 31 is a microphone for detecting the uttered tempo motto, and these are electronic keyboard instruments. It is installed in the clapboard xylem, etc. In FIG. 7, the speech recognition device 32 identifies each tempo motto such as "Allegro" and "Allegretto" from among the spoken words input through the microphone 31, and outputs a digital signal D 2 corresponding to each tempo motto. do. This digital signal D 2 is converted into an analog signal via the D/A conversion circuit 34. The voltage controlled oscillator 33 uses the output voltage V 2 of the D/A conversion circuit 34 and the output voltage of the fine adjustment variable resistor 18.
The sum of Vx and Vx is the control voltage Vc, and this control voltage
Outputs a high-speed clock signal HCL with a frequency corresponding to Vc. This high-speed clock signal HCL is further frequency-divided at a constant ratio via a frequency divider circuit 35, and the frequency-divided output becomes the tempo clock signal TCL. A high speed clock signal is output from the reference oscillator 36A.
Reference clock signal φ with a sufficiently longer period than HCL
is output. Counter 36 is a high speed clock signal.
In addition to counting HCL, the reference clock signal φ
It will be reset with . The latch circuit 37 latches the coefficient value of the counter 36 immediately before being reset each time the reference clock signal φ arrives. As a result, the latch circuit 37 outputs tempo data TPD representing the current tempo in terms of the number of quarter notes per minute. Then, this tempo data TPD is converted to display drive data DD 1 via the display control circuit 21, and upon receiving this data DD 1 , the numerical display 1
3 shows the current tempo numerically as the number of quarter notes per minute. Further, the output D 2 of the voice recognition device 32 is converted to display drive data DD 2 corresponding to each tempo motto via the display control circuit 32, and in response to this data DD 2 , the 6th motto display As shown in the figure, the tempo motto is displayed in alphanumeric characters. Thus, according to this third embodiment, if any tempo motto is pronounced audibly and accurately, that tempo motto is displayed in alphabet on the motto display 30 and the tempo clock signal is
The TCL frequency is automatically set to the value corresponding to the tempo motto. Therefore, the third embodiment also makes it possible to indicate the tempo of automatic performance using a tempo motto. In the third embodiment, by using different colors for the numerical value display and the slogan display, the two can be more clearly distinguished and recognized. As described above, according to the present invention, simply by specifying a tempo motto, the tempo for automatic performance is automatically set in accordance with the specified tempo motto.
There is no need to perform a conversion operation from a tempo motto to a tempo value as in the past, and even beginners can easily and quickly enjoy automatic performance at a desired tempo. In addition, beginners can immediately feel the performance tempo that corresponds to each tempo motto.
Another advantage is that it is easier to learn tempo mottos.
