Description

【発明の詳細な説明】[Detailed description of the invention]

(産業上の利用分野) 本発明は、歯科治療において、口腔内の唾液等
の不必要な水分の吸収、除去のために用いられる
口腔用棒状吸収材に関する。 (従来の技術) 従来、歯科治療等で口腔内の唾液等の水分を吸
収除去したり、施術のための空間を確保したり、
さらに噛合わせる時等には、短繊維集合体である
脱脂綿を適当な大きさに切断したり、丸めたりし
て使用しており、また、上記加工作業を省略する
ため、予め適当な大きさに切断されたカツト綿や
棒状に加工された綿体も用いられている。 (発明が解決しようとする問題点) しかしながら、上記従来のものにおいて、脱脂
綿の場合、前述したように使用の都度適当な大き
さに切断するか、あるいは丸めなければならず、
またカツト綿は口腔内の清掃用としては十分に機
能を発揮するが、毛羽立ちや口腔内への繊維の残
量が多く、さらに棒状綿体の場合、カツト綿、脱
脂綿に比べ改良されてはいるものの表面の毛羽立
ちを防止し、保形性を付与する目的で用いられる
カルボキシメチルセルロース等の接着剤が水溶性
であるため、唾液等により溶出し、その結果繊維
が口腔内に残留したり、治療用具にからみついた
りする。この繊維の脱落を防止する目的でテープ
状不織布等で外周部を包装したもの(特願昭61−
138367号)があり、かなりの程度にまで改善され
てきた。これをさらに改良したものとして高吸水
性物質を棒状体内部に混在させたものが考えられ
るが、高吸水性物質が吸水時膨潤し、両端開放面
よりにじみ出てくるという問題点がある。 本発明は、かかる問題点を改善するものであ
り、吸水能力が高く、かつ圧排効果の良好な高吸
水性物質のにじみ出しのない口腔用棒状吸収材を
提供することにある。 (問題点を解決するための手段) 本発明は繊維集合体の棒状体Aと高吸水性物質
を含む棒状体Bよりなり、棒状体Bの両端にそれ
ぞれ棒状体Aが配され、これら全体の外周に水透
過性テープが巻着されてなる口腔用棒状吸収材に
ある。 棒状体Aは、繊維集合体を棒状に成形したもの
ならいかなる手法によるものでも使用可能である
が吸水特性の良好な、例えばアセテート繊維、ポ
リプロピレン繊維、ポリエステル繊維、アクリル
繊維、レーヨン等の捲縮長繊維の単独又は混合物
を均一に開繊して収束し水透過性テープで巻着し
て棒状体に成形したもの、脱脂綿等の短繊維スラ
イバーを開繊して収束し水透過性テープで巻付け
て棒状体に成形したもの、脱脂綿等の短繊維スラ
イバーを開繊後収束し棒状体に成形し、カルボキ
シメチルセルロース等で形体保特性を与えたも
の、パルプ繊維を接着剤により、パルプ繊維相互
を接着せしめシート状にした後収束し、水透過性
テープで巻付けて棒状体に成形したものなどが使
用できる。また、高吸水性物質を含む棒状体B
は、アセテート繊維、ポリプロピレン繊維、ポリ
エステル繊維、アクリル繊維、レーヨン等の捲縮
長繊維の単独又は混合物を均一に開繊後、高吸水
性物質の粉体や繊維を添加し水透過性テープで棒
状体に巻着したものや解砕パルプと高吸水性物質
粉体との混合物を水透過性テープで巻付けて棒状
体としたものなどが使用できる。 この棒状体Bの両側にそれぞれ棒状体Aを配
し、これら全体の外周に少なくとも略一周水透過
性テープを巻廻し、このテープの少なくとも重ね
合わせ部を糊剤等で接着、融着等により接合する
ことにより本発明の口腔用棒状吸収材が得られ
る。 水透過性テープとしては、レーヨン、ポリエス
テル繊維、ポリプロピレン繊維等の不織布やレー
ヨン、ポリエステル繊維、ポリプロピレン繊維等
の短繊維をパルプ繊維と混合して抄紙したシート
状物等のテープを使用することができるが、口腔
内での使用適性の上で15mm巾で45g以上の引張強
度のものが必要である。 又、水透過性テープを棒状体A及び棒状体Bの
配置された棒状体全体に巻付け接合するには糊剤
として水不溶性糊剤を用いる方が長時間の使用に
耐え好ましい。接合はテープの重ね合わせ部のみ
ならず配置された棒状体全体の外周面とテープと
の接触部の全体又は一部で行なつてもよく、かか
る場合には吸水により高吸水性物質が膨潤した時
にもその膨高力に耐え、形態保持性が良好であ
る。 又、水透過性テープの構成繊維としてポリエス
テル、ポリプロピレン、ポリエチレン等の低融点
成分の単独又は複合化した熱融着性繊維を用いた
ものは、テープ重ね合わせ部の接合と配置された
棒状体全体の外周面とテープ接触部との接合を融
着で同時に行なうことができる。 (作用) 本発明は、高吸水性物質を含む棒状体Bの両端
にそれぞれ高吸水性物質を含まない棒状体Aを配
し、湿潤強度に優れた水透過性テープで一体に巻
着することにより吸水能力が高く構成繊維の脱落
のない圧排効果に優れた高吸水性物質のにじみ出
しのない口腔用棒状吸収材の提供を可能とするも
のである。 (実施例) 以下、実施例により本発明を説明する。 実施例 通常のシガレツトフイルター製造装置により単
繊維繊度3デニール、総繊度50000デニールのア
セテート捲縮長繊維トウを均一に開繊後、収束し
つつ麻とレーヨン短繊維を抄紙してよりなる坪量
12g/m2のテイーバツク用の紙を32mm巾としたテ
ープで包み込み、このテープの重ね合わせ部をエ
チレン/酢酸ビニル共重合体のホツトメルト糊で
接合し直径9.7mm、長さ84mm、重さ0.637g/本の
棒状体A1にした。次に、前記シガレツトフイル
ター製造装置に振動式粉体供給機を取付け前記と
同様にアセテート捲縮長繊維トウを開繊後、ビニ
ルアルコール/アクリル酸共重合体を主成分とす
る平径粒径150〜250μ、吸水能力(自重に対し)
500〜700倍の白色状粒状高吸水性粉体を添加し、
同様にテイーバツク用の紙のテープで直径9.7mm、
長さ120mm、重さ0.996g/本の棒状体B1を製造し
た。ここで高吸水性粉体重量のアセテート捲縮長
繊維トウに対する比率は126%であつた。次に棒
状体A1と棒状体B1を各々6分の1に切断し、切
断したものを交互に配列させ、その外周を、特公
昭48−4590号公報等で示される坪量30g/m2、巾
32mm、湿潤引張強度180g/15mm巾のレーヨン不
織布テープで包み込み、この不織布テープの重ね
合わせ部を前記同様エチレン/酢酸ビニル共重合
体のホツトメルト糊で接合し、さらに不織布テー
プと棒状体A及び棒状体Bの配列体を、前記のホ
ツトメルト糊で固定し連続せる棒状体としたもの
を、棒状体A1の中央部で切断することにより長
さ7mmの棒状体Aが長さ20mmの棒状体Bの両側に
配された、第1図に示すような重量0.307g/本の
棒状吸収材が得られた。 比較例1として、特願昭61−138367号に示すも
ので長繊維集合体及び不織布テープとして前記実
施例と同じものを使用した直径9.7mm、長さ30mm、
重量0.223g/本の吸収材を、又、比較例2とし
て、直径8.6mm、長さが30mm、重量0.228g/本の
市販ロール綿を比較測定し、その結果を実施例で
得られた吸収体の結果と共に第1表に示した。こ
こで吸水試験は、直径の半分が浸漬する様水を入
れたシヤーレにサンプルを横置きにし5分間放置
し吸水前後の重量を比較した。又、硬度の測定は
吸水前硬度にあつてはサンプルを横置きにして
300gの荷重を上方より付与した時の下面からの
高さを、荷重を付与する前の下面からの高さで除
した値を100倍したもので示し、吸水後硬度にあ
つては吸水後のサンプルを横置きにして300gの
荷重を付与した時の下面からの高さを吸水前のサ
ンプルの荷重を付与する前の下面からの高さで除
した値を100倍したもので示した。又、吸水倍率
は吸水後の重量を吸水前の重量で除した値を示
す。
