First, a predetermined convolution of the label-processed image (FIG. 2) is captured (step 1-1). Then, it is determined whether the central pixel of the convolution is a graphic pixel (step 1-
2). If the central pixel is a graphic pixel, then it is determined whether or not there is another graphic pixel in the vicinity (step 1-
3). When there are other graphic pixels around (Fig. 6A)
If the brightness value of other graphic pixels is high after the expansion process,
Eroded by the other figures. Therefore, in order to prevent such erosion between figures, the central pixel is not subjected to expansion processing (FIG. 6B), and steps 1 to 5 are reached.

なる(図3)。When it is judged in step 1-2 that the central pixel is not a graphic pixel (FIG. 4A), and when in step 1-3 the central pixel is a graphic pixel but no other graphic pixel exists in the surroundings (FIG. 5A). In step 1-4, the brightness value of the pixel having the maximum brightness value is given to the central pixel in the convolution, and expansion processing is performed (step 1-).
4). Only in such a case, expansion processing is performed, and the respective results are shown in FIGS. 4B and 5B. In step 1-5, it is determined whether or not the convolution to be processed is the image end, and if it is not the image end, the processes from step 1-1 are repeated. If the convolution is at the end of the image, the process ends here, and the dilation process is performed without any change in the number of groups and without erosion between figures (FIG. 3).
