例である。感光ドラム1は矢印の方向に回転し、
回転に従つてまずコロナ放電器2によつて一様に
帯電される。次に照明光源3によつて照明された
原稿台4上の載置原稿5の反射光像は、ミラー
6、レンズ7、ミラー8を介して感光ドラム1上
に結像し、光像に応じた潜像を形成する。潜像は
現像装置9によつて現像され、得られたトナー像
は、給紙カセツト10から給送される転写紙にコ
ロナ放電器11の作用で転写される。尚、12は
給紙カセツト10から転写紙を給送する送り出し
ローラ、13,14は転写位置へ転写紙をドラム
上の画像に同期させて送り込むタイミングローラ
である。転写後、転写紙は分離帯電器15によつ
て感光ドラム1から分離し、トナー像は定着器1
6によつて転写紙に定着され、排紙ローラ17,
18によつて排紙トレイ19に排出される。一
方、感光ドラム1の表面上に残留したトナーはク
リーナブレード20によつてかき落され、マグネ
ツトローラ21より補集された後スクレーパ22
によりかき落され、クリーナスクリユー23によ
つて廃トナー回収容器に排出される。また、感光
ドラム1上に残留した不要電荷は、照明装置24
の照明光により除去される。そして感光ドラム1
は再び放電器2によつて帯電され、上記のプロセ
スを繰り返す。本図面では廃トナー回収容器は示
されていないが、図面上手前側に設置されてお
り、クリーナスクリユー23から廃トナーを受け
取るようになつている。ここで、画像形成装置が
稼動中には現像装置9は第2図のようにストツパ
27によつて所定位置に設置されているが、スト
ツパ27は矢印a方向にのみ移動可能であり、ば
ね28により現像装置9に圧力を加えて現像装置
9に配設された突き当てコロ34,35を感光ド
ラム1に当接させるようになつている。現像装置
9を取り外す際は、まず画像形成装置本体に対し
開閉可能な本体前扉(図示せず)の内側に設けら
れた解除レバー25を本体前側板(図示せず)に
回動可能に設けられた支軸26を中心として時計
方向に回動させ、ストツパ27を解除する。この
ときストツパ27は現像装置9の突起部分9aを
押し上げ、現像装置9は感光ドラム1より退避す
る。そして現像装置9を画像形成装置本体に対し
て図面上手前側に引き出しつつ、現像装置9の脚
部30,31を本体前側板より本体前扉の内側近
傍まで延びて配置されているレール29に合わせ
る(第3図a)。更にレール29に沿つて現像装
置9を充分に引き出すと、レール29上任意の位
置に設置されたストツパ(図示せず)によつて現
像装置9は停止し、ここで把手32を持つて現像
装置9を引き上げ、現像装置9を画像形成装置本

する部材40,41は、その中心部において現像
装置本体9に固定された支軸42,43と回動可
能に係合している。また、把手32の下端部32
a及び32bは、それぞれ連結部材40,41の
端部40a,41aにおいて係合部材44,45
により回動可能に係合している。更に、現像用ス
リーブの保護カバー39の上端部39a及び39
bは、それぞれ連結部材40,41の端部40
b,41bにおいて係合部材46,47により回
動可能に係合している。また、現像用スリーブの
保護用カバー39の下部両端39c及び39dに

決めされて上方に移動し、連結部材40,41は
それぞれ支軸42,43を中心として矢印b,c
の方向へ回動する(第5図)。従つて、連結部材
40,41の端部40b,41bは下方に回動し
て現像用スリーブの保護用カバー39を押し下げ
る。このとき、突き当てコロの保護用カバー部材
36,37も現像用スリーブの保護用カバー39
に固定されたピン48,49によつて押され、突
き当てコロの保護用カバー36,37は支軸38
を中心に回動するようにして閉じる(第6図、第
4図)。それに従つて、突き当てコロの保護用カ
バー36,37と係合したピン48,49も支軸
38を中心とした円周上を回動するため、現像用
スリーブの保護用カバー39の下部も現像用スリ
ーブ33から退避するように回動して現像用スリ
ーブ33を覆う。保護用カバー36,37及び3
9が突き当てコロ34,35及び現像用スリーブ
33を覆つた時、連結部材40,41の把手側端
部40a,41aは部材50,51に当接し、把
手32はこれ以上上方に移動しないようになつて

述動作と逆の動作を行なう。レール29に現像装
置9の脚部30,31を載せ、現像装置9を画像
形成装置本体に挿入していく。把手32は依然と
して引き出された状態にあり、そのまま挿入して
いくと、画像形成装置本体の手前側筐体に衝合す
る。このとき、把手32を押下げれば、前述動作
と逆の動作により保護用カバー36,37及び3
9は開く。そして、把手32は手前側筐体より退
避するのでそのまま現像装置9を挿入していくこ
とができ、現像装置9が画像形成装置本体内所定
位置へ到達した後、レバー25を反時計方向へ押
し上げることにより、現像装置9は第2図に示さ
