2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, various thermal transfer methods have been known. Among them, a sublimation dye is used as a recording agent, and this is carried on a base material film such as paper or plastic film to form a thermal transfer sheet, which is used as a dye transfer material. There has been proposed a method of forming various full-color images on an image-receiving sheet such as a layered paper or plastic film. In this case, the thermal head of the printer is used as the heating means, and a large number of three-color or four-color dots are transferred to the image receiving sheet by heating for an extremely short time, and the full-color image of the original is formed by the multicolor dots. It is to be reproduced.

The image-receiving sheet capable of forming an image by the above method is limited to a dye-stainable plastic sheet or a paper having a dye-receptive layer provided in advance, and an image can be directly formed on ordinary plain paper. There is a problem that there is no. Of course,
Even ordinary plain paper can be image-formed by forming a dye-receptive layer on the surface thereof, but this is generally expensive, and for example, postcards, memos, letter papers, report papers, etc. It is difficult to apply to a general ready-made image receiving sheet such as. As a method of solving such problems, when trying to form an image on a ready-made image receiving sheet such as plain paper,
A dye-receiving layer transfer sheet is known as a method for easily forming a dye-receiving layer only in its necessary portion (for example,
(See JP-A-62-264994). To further simplify the operation, each dye layer of yellow, cyan, magenta and, if necessary, black is sequentially formed on the surface of the long base film, and the transferable dye is received on the same base film. There is known a composite thermal transfer sheet in which a layer is provided, first the dye receiving layer is transferred to an image receiving sheet, and then the dye of each color is transferred to the dye receiving layer to form a full color image,
Further, a composite thermal transfer sheet is further proposed in which a protective layer for protecting the formed dye image is further provided in a surface sequential manner.

DISCLOSURE OF THE INVENTION Problems to be Solved When preparing the above-mentioned dye receiving layer transfer sheet or composite thermal transfer sheet, the layer containing the dye receiving layer is required to have good releasability,
Therefore, a release layer is often formed between the base film and the transferable dye receiving layer. When a dye receiving layer is transferred to an image receiving sheet by using a thermal head or the like using such a dye receiving layer transfer sheet or a composite thermal transfer sheet, the release layer may be melted or melted due to temperature change of the thermal head, heat stored in the printer, or the like. The release layer and the dye receiving layer are softened and fused,
The transferability of the dye-receptive layer may decrease, or part of the release layer may be transferred to the transferred dye-receptive layer surface, resulting in uneven density, missing dots, or missing dots in the image formed on the dye-receptive layer surface. There is a problem that occurs. These problems occur in the case of a composite thermal transfer sheet in which a dye layer and / or a transferable protective layer are provided together with a transferable dye receiving layer on a continuous base film, because the dye receiving layer and the protective layer are also transferred by a thermal head. , Has become a very important issue. Therefore, an object of the present invention is to solve the above-mentioned conventional problems, and when transferring the dye receiving layer, the dye receiving layer having good transferability of the dye receiving layer due to temperature change of the thermal head and heat stored in the printer. A transfer sheet and a composite thermal transfer sheet are provided.

As the release agent, one type or two or more types are used. The amount of the release agent added is preferably 0.5 to 30 parts by weight with respect to 100 parts by weight of the dye-receiving layer forming resin. If the addition amount range is not satisfied, problems such as fusion of the thermal transfer sheet and the dye receiving layer or reduction of printing sensitivity may occur. By adding such a release agent to the dye receiving layer, the release agent bleeds out on the surface of the dye receiving layer after transfer to form a release layer. The dye receiving layer, on one surface of the release layer, a resin obtained by adding necessary additives such as a release agent to the resin as described above, is dissolved in an appropriate organic solvent or in an organic solvent or water. Dispersed dispersion,
For example, it is formed by applying and drying by a forming means such as a gravure printing method, a screen printing method, and a reverse roll coating method using a gravure plate. The dye receiving layer formed as described above may have any thickness, but it is generally 1 to 10 μm. Further, such a dye receiving layer is preferably a continuous coating, but it may be formed as a discontinuous coating by using a resin emulsion or a resin dispersion.

Optical brighteners and / or bubbles (or blowing agents) can be included. These white pigments and fluorescent whitening agents improve the whiteness of the dye receiving layer after transfer and hide the light yellow color of the paper which is the image receiving sheet, and the air bubbles (or foaming agents) are used for dye receiving. It has the function of imparting good cushioning properties to the layer. As a method of incorporating these additives, a white pigment or the like may be incorporated in the coating liquid used when forming each layer.

As the binder resin for carrying the dye as described above, any conventionally known binder resin can be used, and preferred examples include ethyl cellulose, hydroxyethyl cellulose, ethyl hydroxycellulose, hydroxypropyl cellulose, methyl cellulose and acetic acid. Cellulose, cellulosic resins such as cellulose acetate butyrate,
Polyvinyl alcohol, polyvinyl acetate, polyvinyl butyral, polyvinyl acetal, polyvinyl pyrrolidone, vinyl resins such as polyacrylamide, polyesters, and the like. Among these, cellulose-based,
Acetal-based, butyral-based, polyester-based and the like are preferable from the viewpoints of heat resistance, dye migration, and the like. Further, the dye layer may also contain various conventionally known additives as required. Such a dye layer is preferably prepared by adding the sublimable dye, a binder resin and other optional components in a suitable solvent to dissolve or disperse each component to prepare a dye layer-forming coating material or ink. Is formed on the above-mentioned base film by applying and drying the film in a frame-sequential manner. The dye layer thus formed has a thickness of about 0.2 to 5.0 μm, preferably about 0.4 to 2.0 μm, and the sublimable dye in the dye layer contains 5% by weight of the dye layer. Suitably it is present in an amount of ˜90% by weight, preferably 10 to 70% by weight. The transferable dye-receiving layer formed on the surface of the base film in the surface-sequential manner with respect to the dye layer is formed via a release layer as in the case of the dye-receiving layer transfer sheet, and transferred to any image receiving sheet. It is for receiving the sublimable dye transferred from the thermal transfer sheet later and maintaining the formed image.

The relationship between the transferable dye receiving layer and the dye layer is not particularly limited. For example, as shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, one unit is in the order of dye receiving layer → Y → M → C → Bk → protective layer. Although it is general, the present invention is not limited to this and may be the example shown in FIG. 4 or another example. Also, dyes of respective hues are usually provided in the same area, but the transferable dye receiving layer (or protective layer) is transferred twice or more depending on the type of image-receiving sheet and the durability required for the image. In some cases, it may be required to do so, so that it is possible to form a larger area. The method for forming the release layer, the transferable dye-receptive layer (or protective layer) or the intermediate layer may be the same as in the case of the dye-receptive layer transfer sheet except that it is provided in a frame sequential manner. The transferable protective layer can be formed in the same manner as the transferable dye receiving layer as described above, but it is not necessary to form an intermediate layer, and the transferable protective layer is such that an image can be observed through the layer. Therefore, it is necessary to be transparent or semi-transparent. The forming material, forming method, thickness and the like of the protective layer and the adhesive layer formed on the surface thereof may be the same as in the case of the dye receiving layer.
