Human eyes have about 6 left and right eyes.
Since they are separated by 5 mm, the images with parallax between the left eye and the right eye are separately viewed through the lenticular plate, which gives a stereoscopic effect. From this point of view, as described above, in the lenticular plate of the stereoscopic display, a plurality of vertically long lenses 4 are arranged side by side.
Therefore, the stereoscopic display can be viewed stereoscopically when a person is awake (standing or sitting).
When a person lies down and looks at this stereoscopic display, since the human eyes are aligned in the same vertical direction as the lens passage direction, there is a problem that the lenticular plate has no lens function and cannot be stereoscopically viewed.

The stereoscopic composite image provided on the film 14 can be stereoscopically viewed through the first lenticular plate 11 and the second lenticular plate 13. This composite image for stereoscopic viewing is, for example, among a plurality of original images obtained with a parallax in the horizontal direction (horizontal direction) and a vertical direction (vertical direction), a plurality of original images having a parallax in the horizontal direction. The image is divided and compressed using two lenticular plates (not shown) for photographing, which are stacked so that the lens disposing directions are orthogonal to each other so as to correspond to the first and second lenticular plates, and one lens pitch While arranging the divided compressed images in (horizontal), a series of divided compressed images is arranged in the horizontal direction, and a plurality of original images having parallax in the vertical direction are compressed and divided using the lenticular plate for photographing. Then, it is obtained by arranging a series of divided compressed images in the vertical direction while sequentially arranging the divided compressed images within one pitch (vertical) of the lens. Furthermore, as another method, divided compressed image data is obtained on a computer from original image data having a parallax in the horizontal and vertical directions by three-dimensional CG (computer graphic) processing, and stereoscopic synthesis is performed from these. Create an image (print,

When the focal length of the second lenticular plate and the focal length of the first lenticular plate are almost the same, the thickness of the second lenticular plate must be close to 0 (zero), but this is not the case. It is possible. In this case, the second lenticular plate has an appropriate arbitrary thickness, and
The arrangement may be turned over as shown in FIG. The reason will be described with reference to FIG. FIG. 7 shows optical characteristics in the case of the arrangement example shown in FIG. (FIG. 7A) In the second lenticular plate 13, the light is bent at the boundary of the lens 12 in the direction of converging light, and the first lenticular plate 11 is a mere transparent plate for the light, and is almost the first You can focus on the same position as the lenticular plate. (FIG. 7B) In the first lenticular plate 11, light is bent at the boundary of the lens 10 in the direction of converging light, and the second lenticular plate 13 becomes a mere transparent plate for the light. In this way, when the focal lengths of the first lenticular plate and the second lenticular plate are almost the same, the lens focus of the first lenticular plate and the second lenticular plate is turned over by turning over the second lenticular plate. The position can be set on the same plane, in this case, the back surface of the first lenticular plate 11.

FIG. 9 shows the optical characteristics of the first and second lenticular plates in this case. (FIG. 9 (A)) In the second lenticular plate 13, the light is bent at the boundary of the lens 12 in the direction of converging light, and the first lenticular plate 11 is a mere transparent plate for the light and is for stereoscopic viewing. A focus can be placed on the composite image (film 14). (FIG. 9B) In the first lenticular plate 11, light is bent at the boundary of the lens 10 in the direction of converging light, and the second lenticular plate 13 becomes a mere transparent plate for the light. Then, similarly, it is possible to focus on the stereoscopic composite image (film 14). As described above, the first lenticular plate and the second lenticular plate may be made thin if necessary, and the focal plane (stereoscopic composite image) may be set far behind the first lenticular plate. it can.

As described above, according to the stereoscopic display of the present invention, the first lenticular plate having the lens shape of the cylindrical peripheral surface has the lens shape of the cylindrical peripheral surface and the lens disposing direction is the first direction. A second lenticular plate orthogonal to the lens arrangement direction of the lenticular plate is stacked, and the lens focus of the first and second lenticular plates is set on the back surface of the first lenticular plate or on the same plane behind this back surface. The composite image for stereoscopic vision that is stereoscopically visible through the first lenticular plate and stereoscopically through the second lenticular plate is arranged on the plane where the lens focus is set. Since the conventional stereoscopic display only gives a stereoscopic effect due to the left and right parallax, the observing condition is attached to the person observing, but with the stereoscopic display of the present invention, it also lie down when standing up. Even when viewed, the stereoscopic viewing is enabled, and the commercialability of the stereoscopic display is improved.
