Description: BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to liquid collection devices, and more particularly to devices for collecting urine samples.

A urine analyzer is a medical device used by medical practitioners to provide information relating to a wide range of psychosomatic disorders and illnesses. However, it is difficult to obtain a urine sample when dealing with infants or adults with disabilities. For example, in the case of infants and the elderly before receiving discipline, it is impossible to control if the sample can be provided on demand.

Various urine sampling devices are available, and my US Patent No. 3,918,433 entitled "Fluid Sampling Device" was granted on November 11, 1975 (1975). Is disclosed. That is, the first surface is provided with a water channel for introducing urine to the second surface, the second surface is combined with the fluid sensing valve and is guided to the container, and the sensing valve is provided immediately after passage of a predetermined amount of fluid. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION It is an object of the present invention to provide a sampling device that is simpler, more versatile, more adaptable and more advantageous than conventional available devices.

In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a urine collection device having first and second portions such that the first and second portions are placed adjacent to the perineum and the genitals, respectively, when worn by a wearer in clothing. The device is characterized in that the first part comprises an enclosure defining a compartment having a predetermined volume, the enclosure being located in the compartment and at least one opening for passing urine into the compartment. A body of dry compressed absorbent material, the body being smaller than the compartment and expandable when moist when constrained by the enclosure, the second portion being the opening. Comprising a panel of liquid impervious material containing at least one channel for directing urine to the body, the panel extending from the first portion, wherein the body regulates the relationship between the absorbent body and the compartment. A convenient way to secure the device to the inner surface of the diaper 23 is to provide a layer 24 of pressure sensitive adhesive on at least a portion of the bottom surface 13 of the panel 11. As best seen in FIGS. 1, 4 and 5, the adhesive layer 24 is in the form of a string along the longitudinal axis extending from the end 22 toward the vicinity of the area 22.
