である。本発明の歯磨剤組成物は、練り歯磨剤組成物、
液状歯磨剤組成物あるいは液体歯磨剤組成物でもよい。
本発明の歯磨剤組成物に使用する寒天は食品に用いられ
る寒天でよく、適量の水で加温溶解後、ペースト状にし
て用いる。寒天は食品分野で数多く用いられ、歯磨剤の
味を変化させることがなく、安全性にはなんら問題はな
い。従って、本発明の歯磨剤組成物における寒天の配合
量は、特に制限されず、また使用する寒天のゲル強度に
より適宜増減することができるが、好ましくは練り歯磨
剤組成物であれば0.1〜5重量%が適当であり、液状歯
磨剤組成物であれば1〜5重量%が適当である。また、
液体歯磨剤組成物では0.1〜1重量%が適当である。歯
磨剤組成物に寒天を用いることにより、シリカ系基剤あ
るいは寒天以外の水溶性高分子化合物のような増粘剤を
減量して、あるいはこれを使用することなく賦形性を持
たせることができ、粘りの比較的少ない使用感に優れ
た、かつ経時的に安定で安全性の高い歯磨剤組成物を提
