Abstract

PURPOSE:To efficiently remove the residual chlorine, etc., in city water with a small amt. of a purifying agent by sticking green tea extracts to natural coral sand. CONSTITUTION:The required purifying agent is obtd. by combining the natural coral sand which is aragonite type calcium carbonate liable to be soluble in water and is a very small sandy granular material opened with 10 to 50mum small holes to all corners like the holes of a lotus root with the green tea extracts and sticking the green tea extracts to the natural coral sand. The coral sand stuck with the green tea extracts is more preferably enveloped by a non-woven fabric, by which the properties of the meshed entanglement of the non-woven fabrics are utilized to rapidly effect the contact with the water and the reaction in the water. This purifying agent is produced by agitating and mixing the natural coral sand and the green tea extracts, then subjecting the mixture to a drying treatment. The green tea extracts are so added to the natural coral sand that the ratio of the former is 0.1 to 20 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. the latter.

2. Description of the Related Art In recent years, the quality of drinking water in urban areas has been deteriorating. Although the source water of drinking water contains various chemical substances and microorganisms, it is treated as drinking water to become drinking water. It is said that the residual component of chlorine for sterilization used for treating the source water (chlorinated odor) is mainly the odor.

Conventionally, in order to reduce / remove this residual chlorine, many reactor water vessels filled with activated carbon have been used. Further, as the water quality improving agent, fossil corals and natural reef-building corals that have been heat-activated, or those that have added anti-septic effects by adding silver to these water quality improving agents are known (( JP-A-63-5642).

The water quality improver utilizing natural coral is mainly aimed at the action of mineral water by dissolving Ca in water and the removal of chlorine. However,
Conventional water quality improvers have no practical effect because they are not effective unless about several tens of grams are added to 1 liter of drinking water. Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a natural coral-based drinking water purifying agent and a method for producing the same, in which an excellent purifying action can be obtained even when added in a small amount.

Further, the green tea extract is known as a deodorant for foods, pharmaceuticals, refrigerators, etc., and contains tannin, catechin, flavonoid, etc., and has the property of exhibiting a flavono effect containing no vitamin C. The flavono effect is a general term for the deodorizing effect of flavonoids in green tea extract and reduces the malodorous components such as ammonia, trimethylamine hydrogen sulfide and methyl mercaptan. A method for producing an extract in green tea is described in Japanese Patent Publication No. 1-24506. That is, the green tea component separation method is tea, using dry tea as an extraction solvent,
Using glycerin or propylene glycol alone or a mixture thereof, at an extraction temperature of 180 ° C to 220 ° C, 5
A dark brown extract is obtained by performing extraction for about the time. Silica gel was added to the extract to adsorb the active ingredient, and the extract was distilled (back-extracted) with ethyl ether, and water was added to separate the active ingredient from the ethyl ether into an aqueous solution to obtain a green tea extract . In the above extraction process, vitamin C should be decomposed when the extraction temperature is 180 ° C to 220 ° C, and the active ingredient of green tea and vitamin C are separated when adsorbing the alcohol extract on silica gel. Is not adsorbed on silica gel, so vitamin C is not contained in the green tea extract.

The inventor of the present invention has conducted repeated tests to remove residual chlorine and the like in drinking water by using natural coral sand and green tea extract individually, or by combining both, and as a result, natural coral sand alone has residual chlorine in drinking water. A large amount of natural coral reefs are required to remove water, but it was found that the combination of natural coral sand and green tea extract removes residual chlorine in tap water by adding an extremely small amount to drinking water. did. Further, natural coral tends to dissolve chlorine from seawater in drinking water, but it has been found that this tendency disappears when combined with a green tea extract, and the present invention has been completed.

The drinking water purifying agent of the present invention can be produced by a method in which natural coral sand and a green tea extract are stirred and mixed, and then dried. In this case, 0.1 to 20 parts of green tea extract (containing 50% of water) based on 100 parts by weight of natural coral sand.
It is preferable to add it so that it may be added by weight. The present invention will be described in detail below with reference to examples.
