Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the durability of a ball sphere support by securing a cage having balls therein to a support plate in such a manner that the balls are rotatable, and bringing each of the balls in the cage into contact with a sphere, and making the cage longer at its outer peripheral portion than at its inner peripheral portion. CONSTITUTION:A cage 1 holds balls 3 at the outer and inner peripheral portions 1c, 1d thereof, the outer peripheral portion 1c being longer than the inner peripheral portion 1d. The cage 1 is either welded, adhesive bonded, soldered or screwed to the support plate 2 in such a manner that the balls 3 are rotatable. Figure shows the case in which the support plate 2 has a circular groove therein, while the support plate 2 may have no or plural grooves. The support plate 2 is held in position by the method of adhesive bonding, soldering, press-in or screwing.
