The light emission characteristics also change. The EL lamp with the best emission characteristics emits blue-green light. EL lamps that emit pink or white light have also been developed, but they have lower emission brightness and shorter lifespan than those that emit blue-green light. By mixing a dye with the phosphor, the emission color can be adjusted. As the dye, one that absorbs the emission color of the phosphor and emits light having a wavelength longer than the absorption wavelength is used. An EL lamp that emits white light can be obtained by mixing a red fluorescent dye with a blue-green light emitting phosphor. An EL lamp that emits white light by mixing a dye exhibits excellent emission characteristics as compared with a fluorescent substance that emits white light. However, since the EL lamp contains a phosphor mixed with a dye, the body color when not lit is colored reddish orange. By the way, EL lamps are often used for liquid crystal backlights. The body color of the EL lamp used in this state when it is not lit is a problem. In addition, the ground color red-orange appears more than white when exposed to strong external light not only when it is not lit but also when it is lit. An EL lamp provided with a light-diffusing film having a light-transmitting property has been developed to make the body color close to white when it is not lit (Japanese Utility Model Publication No. Sho 63-182097). In the EL lamp disclosed in this publication, the light diffusion film provided on the light emitting surface scatters external light to whiten the surface, so that the body color when not lit can be made close to white. When the light is diffused by the light diffusion film, it looks white because the outside light includes light in all visible regions from red to purple. However, the EL lamp provided on the surface of the light diffusion film has a drawback that the light emission output is reduced. In particular, there is a drawback that the light emission output decreases as the body color when not lit is closer to white. That is, the white color of the body color and the light emission output are characteristics that are contradictory to each other, and both characteristics cannot be satisfied at the same time.

In other words, the present invention succeeded in satisfying both properties which are contradictory to each other at the same time. Therefore, an important object of the present invention is to provide an EL lamp which has a high light emission output and can make the body color closer to white when it is not lit.

If it is possible to put into practical use a lamp that emits 100% of the light emitted from the lamp body, it is possible to realize an EL lamp that allows the body color when it is not lit to be closest to white, and that the light output does not decrease at all with the light diffusion film. That is, it is important that the light diffusion film has a high reflectance of external light in order to make the body color white and the light transmittance from the EL lamp to be high in order to increase the light emission output. The distributed EL lamp of the present invention has an extremely simple structure and satisfies the above characteristics. That is, the dispersion type EL lamp of the present invention comprises an EL lamp body and a light diffusion film stretched on the outer surface of the EL lamp body on the light emitting side. The light diffusing film has an irregular reflection surface having innumerable irregularities formed on its surface so that incident light is reflected in random directions and is made incident in random directions. The light refracted in random directions and incident on the light diffusion film is totally reflected within the light diffusion film so as to be reflected more. The rate at which light is totally reflected inside the light diffusion film is specified by the relative refractive index between the light diffusion film and an external substance. In order to increase the refractive index of the light diffusion film to the outside, an air layer is provided on the entire surface facing the EL lamp body, or almost the entire surface.

That is, in the EL lamp of the present invention, in FIG. 1, the reflectance of the external light incident from the top to the bottom is high, and the transmittance of the light from the EL lamp that is transmitted from the bottom to the top is increased. The characteristics are satisfied. In the figure, the light radiated from the top to the bottom is largely reflected and has a low transmittance, while the light radiated from the bottom to the top has a high transmittance and the reflectance is low, which are opposite to each other. Both characteristics are satisfied. The transmission and reflection states of light will be described with reference to FIG. External light incident from top to bottom Light in this direction is reflected on the surface of the light diffusion film and is separated into light incident on the light diffusion film. The light reflected by the surface is irregularly reflected by the unevenness of the surface and reflected in all directions. The light that enters the light diffusion film
It is refracted in all directions due to surface irregularities. The light incident on the light diffusing film in a non-directional manner is totally reflected by the lower surface of the light diffusing film by about half or more, more accurately, about 54%. The ratio of total reflection on the lower surface of the light diffusion film is
Determined by the critical angle of the light diffusion film. The critical angle is an angle at which all the light is completely reflected without being transmitted to the outside when the angle formed by the incident ray and the perpendicular is more than this. When the critical angle is 45 degrees, half of the light rays incident in no direction are totally reflected. The light diffusion film with a critical angle of 41 degrees can transmit 41/90 light to the outside of the light diffusion film, but 90-41 / 90 = 54% of the light is totally reflected,
It is reflected 100% upward on the lower surface of the light diffusion film. The critical angle at which light is totally reflected is determined by the refractive index of the light diffusion film. That is, the refractive index of the light diffusion film is n,
When the critical angle is α, sin α = 1 / n. As the light diffusion film, a synthetic resin film is usually used. The refractive index of synthetic resin film to air is
It is about 1.5. The light diffusion film with this refractive index has a critical angle of light of 41 degrees, and all light incident at an angle beyond this is reflected 100% and does not go out. Total internal reflection is the same as an ideal mirror, with 10% of all incoming light.
It is in a state of reflecting 0%. Not in a state to reflect some light. Therefore, about 54% of the light that is refracted by the uneven surface of the upper surface of the light diffusion film and scattered in all directions is completely reflected by the lower surface of the light diffusion film. That is, the light incident from the top to the bottom on the light diffusion film is diffusely reflected on the upper surface, and the light that enters the light diffusion film without being reflected is totally reflected by more than half on the lower surface and is again reflected. It is radiated upward from the upper surface of the diffusion film. Therefore, the external light incident downward from above is reflected upward by the light diffusion film at an extremely high rate. More than half of the light is totally reflected on the lower surface of the light diffusion film because the lower surface of the light diffusion film has an air layer.
If the lower surface of the light diffusing film were in close contact with the synthetic resin film of the EL lamp, the refractive index of the light diffusing film would be almost 1, and light would hardly be totally reflected.
The refractive index of the light diffusion film is 1.5, which is the refractive index of air, and the refractive index of the synthetic resin film of the same quality is about 1. For this reason, the EL lamp of this invention is
By providing an air layer between the lamp body and the lamp body, the reflectance of outside light can be significantly increased, and the body color in the non-lighted state can be made closer to white. Light transmitted from the bottom to the top of the light diffusion film (emission from the EL lamp) The light that enters the light diffusion film from the bottom to the top even if there is an air layer between the EL lamp body and the light diffusion film.
Alternatively, even if the two are in close contact with each other, there is no change in the amount of light rays incident on the light diffusion film. This is because the light incident from the bottom to the top of the light diffusion film is not totally reflected on the lower surface of the light diffusion film. As described above, the EL lamp of the present invention can maintain high transmittance of light from the EL lamp and increase reflectance of external light.
Therefore, there is a feature that the body color when not lit can be made whiter while maintaining excellent light emitting characteristics. Table 1 shows how the EL lamp of the present invention exhibits excellent characteristics. This table measures L, a, and b in a non-illuminated state with a colorimeter CR-100 manufactured by Minolta. L, a, and b are specified as shown in FIG. That is, as shown in the figure, L is the lightness of the color. The larger the value, the closer it is to white, and the smaller it is to black. The larger a is, the deeper the red is, and the more negative, the deeper the green is. The larger b is, the darker the yellow becomes, and the more negative, the deeper the blue becomes. Therefore, the larger L is and the smaller a and b are, the closer to white. [Conventional EL lamp] In this figure, a light diffusion film with a light transmittance of 64% is used.
The one closely attached to the EL lamp body has an L of 79.8, which is smaller than the one without the light diffusion film, and has a large value of 16.4 and b of 13.9, and the body color when not lit is not white. , A little red. In addition, the light output of this EL lamp was reduced by 13% due to the light diffusion film. [EL lamp of this invention] In contrast, the EL lamp of this invention, which has an air layer between the light diffusion film and the EL lamp body, uses a light diffusion film with the same light transmittance of 64%. Despite the use, L is considerably large at 82.5, a is small at 11.3, and b is small at 8.7, and the body color when not lit is almost white. In addition, the light output of this EL lamp was reduced by 14% due to the light diffusion film. As described above, the EL lamp of the present invention has an ideal feature that the emission output can be maintained at a high value and the body color when not lit can be remarkably close to white. In Table 1, the light-diffusing film having a light transmittance of 64% has one surface as an irregular reflection surface having irregularities, as shown in FIG. The light-diffusing film with a light transmittance of 50% has irregular reflection surfaces on both sides. The EL lamp that uses this light diffusion film has a 33% reduction in light output, but the body color when it is not lit is extremely close to white. Furthermore, in the EL lamp of this invention, the light when the phosphor emits light approaches white due to the light diffusion film. Table 2 shows changes in the x value and the y value of the emission color with respect to the light transmittance of the light diffusion film. As is clear from this table, the light transmittance of the light diffusion film is lowered, and the x value and the y value of the EL lamp emission color become smaller as the emission color when not lit approaches white. In other words, the emission color of the EL lamp approaches white. Therefore, an EL lamp with a light diffusion film has the same x
When the value and the y value are set, the amount of the red organic dye mixed in the phosphor can be reduced. Therefore, the body color itself of the fluorescent layer can be made close to white. This synergizes with the effect of the light diffusion film, and further brings the body color closer to white when it is not lit.

The EL lamp does not specify the material, shape, structure and arrangement of the components as the following structure. The EL lamp of this invention is
Various modifications are made within the scope of the claims for utility model registration. The EL lamp shown in FIG. 1 comprises an EL lamp body 9 and a light diffusion film 10 provided on the light emitting surface of the EL lamp body 9.
Consists of. For the EL lamp body 9, any one in which a fluorescent substance is mixed with a dye and the fluorescent layer has a body color can be used. The EL lamp body 9 shown in FIG. 1 comprises a light emitting layer 1, an insulating layer 2 located on the back surface thereof, and a pair of electrode layers 3 sandwiching the light emitting layer 1 and the insulating layer 2 and arranged to face each other. ,
4, moisture-proof films 5 and 6 that surround the electrode layers 3 and 4 to shut off the outside air, and moisture-proof skin films 7 and 8 that hermetically surround the whole. The light emitting layer 1 is a mixture of ZnS: Cu, Br blue-green light emitting phosphor and a red fluorescent dye. Phosphor and red fluorescent dye
It is evenly dispersed with an organic binder of cyanoethyl cellulose, and is coated and dried on the surface of the insulating layer 2 that reflects emitted light to form a light emitting layer. That is, in the light emitting layer 1, the dye particles and the phosphor particles are dispersed in the binder in a mixed state. The red fluorescent dye is excited by the emission of the zinc sulfide phosphor mixed together to emit an orange light. The insulating layer 2 is formed by coating the electrode layer 4 with a solution of a powder of a ferroelectric substance such as BaTiO 3 dissolved in an organic binder solution similar to the organic binder solution of the light emitting layer 1 and drying it. The lower surface of the insulating layer 2, that is, the electrode layer 4 located on the non-fluorescent surface is
A copper or aluminum plate can be used, and the electrode 3 located on the fluorescent surface, which is the upper surface of the light emitting layer 1, is an electrode having electrical conductivity and translucency, for example, In 2 O 3 , SnO on the lower surface of a polyester sheet.
2 , the one to which the transparent conductive film such as Sb 2 O 3 is attached can be used. Lead wires are connected to the electrode layers 3 and 4, and the lead wires are planar and insulated from each other, and are hermetically sandwiched between the moisture-proof outer skin films 7 and 8 and guided to the outside. In the moisture-proof films 5 and 6, upper and lower layers are connected at the peripheral edges of the electrode layers 3 and 4 to form a closed space, and the electrode layers 3 and 4, the light emitting layer 1 and the insulating layer 2 are hermetically sealed in the closed space. It is stored in. The moisture-proof outer films 7 and 8 are films having good moisture-proof properties and light-transmitting properties, such as a trifluoroethylene chloride film having an inner surface coated with polyethylene, and the peripheral portions thereof are heat-sealed by heating. In the EL lamp body 9 configured as described above, when an AC electric field is applied to the electrode layers 3 and 4 from the external AC power source through the lead wire, the phosphor of the light emitting layer 1 emits electroluminescence, ZnS: Cu, Br.
With phosphor and red fluorescent dye, x value = 0.384, y value = 0.337
Emits white light. The light emitting layer of the EL lamp body of the present invention is prepared by mixing the zinc sulfide phosphor with the red fluorescent dye to adjust the emission color to white. The emission color of the EL lamp body can be adjusted by changing the emission color and mixing amount of the red fluorescent dye mixed with the zinc sulfide phosphor. The x value and the y value of the emission color of the red fluorescent dye that is excited by the zinc sulfide phosphor to emit light are determined to be optimum values in consideration of the emission color required for the EL lamp body. Further, the mixing ratio of the fluorescent dye is adjusted to an optimum value in consideration of the color depth of the red dye. Further, in the zinc sulfide phosphor containing copper as an activator, the emission color changes depending on the activator and its content. In the zinc sulfide phosphor activated with copper and bromine, when the content of the activator is high, the x value and the y value of the emission color are large and approach green, and when they are decreased, the x value and the y value are reduced. The value becomes smaller and approaches blue. Also, depending on the content of copper contained in the zinc sulfide phosphor,
The emission brightness of the EL lamp body changes. The emission brightness of the zinc sulfide phosphor becomes maximum when the content of copper is in a specific range, and the emission brightness is reduced when the content is too large or too small.
Therefore, the Cu and Br contents are adjusted to the optimum values in consideration of the emission color and the emission brightness. The light diffusion film 10 is stretched over the entire front surface of the light emitting surface of the EL lamp body 9. For the light diffusion film 10, any sheet material that is translucent and capable of irregularly reflecting light can be used. For example, as the light diffusion film 10, a polyester film, a polytrifluoroethylene chloride film, a nylon film, a polypropylene film, or the like can be used. The light-diffusing film 10 that diffusely reflects light on the surface has a satin finish with fine irregularities. In order to finish the surface of the film to a satin finish, for example, abrasive sand is sprayed on the surface, or the surface is rubbed with an abrasive to form innumerable irregularities. The light diffusion film 10 preferably has a thickness of 25 to 300.
The one with μm is used. The light diffusion film 10 is stretched over the light emitting surface of the EL lamp body 9 via the air layer A without being closely attached to the light emitting surface. The light diffusing film 10 is not adhered to the surface of the EL lamp main body 9 via the air layer A, and the light incident on the light diffusing film 10 is placed on the lower surface of the light diffusing film 10 in FIG. This is for efficient total reflection. That is, this is to increase the refractive index of the lower surface of the light diffusion film with respect to air. Therefore, in this specification, "the light diffusion film is stretched over the EL lamp body through the air layer" means that the air between the light diffusion film 10 and the EL lamp body 9 is It means a state in which the refractive index with respect to the EL lamp body 9 is increased and the light transmitted through the light diffusion film 10 is totally reflected on the back surface of the light diffusion film 9. The light diffusion film 10 is locally adhered to the light emitting surface of the EL lamp body 9 or is adhered to the outer periphery of the EL lamp body 9. At the portion where the light diffusion film 10 is bonded to the EL lamp body 9, the light diffusion film 10 is brought into close contact with the EL lamp body 9 with an adhesive. That is, the adhesive blocks the total reflection of the light diffusion film. Therefore, when adhering the light diffusion film to the light emitting surface of the EL lamp body, it is preferable to make the adhering area as small as possible.
The light diffusion film is preferably adhered to the non-light emitting portion on the outer periphery of the EL lamp body. In the light diffusion film 10, one that diffusely reflects light on both sides,
One that diffuses light on one side can be used. The light diffusion film 10 that diffusely reflects light on both sides adheres the outer periphery to the EL lamp body 9. The light diffusion film 10 can adjust the light transmittance depending on the surface state. If the surface has less irregularities, the light transmittance increases. On the contrary, if the unevenness of the surface is increased, the light transmittance is lowered. The light diffusion film 10 having a low light transmittance can make the body color of the EL lamp body 9 when it is not lit more white.
However, the light diffusion film 10 having a low light transmittance lowers the actual emission brightness of the EL lamp. Therefore, the light transmittance of the light diffusion film 10 is adjusted to an optimum value in consideration of the required body color and the emission brightness. Generally, the light transmittance of the light diffusion film 10 is 50
Adjusted to ~ 80% range.
