With a material that is coated with, and if necessary, a fabric is laminated on it, fit it into the flange of the loop-shaped sunroof opening, and make a round around the flange to create a seam at both ends of the material It is constructed by joining. Then, in order to join the joints of the both end portions, the insert is pulled out from the both end portions of the material by a certain length while leaving the thermoplastic resin portion slightly, and the material is preheated to the melting temperature of the thermoplastic resin. It is known that both ends of a material obtained by removing an insert from a heating plate or the like are brought into contact with each other to be heated and melted, and then the both ends are welded to form a loop shape.

It is very troublesome. In addition, when welding both ends, both ends warp, resulting in a defective product with a significantly poor appearance of the joint part, especially in the case of laminating fabrics, the fabric of the joint part is ruptured at the time of extracting the insert. There is a problem in that the joints of the fabrics at both ends of the material of the joint portion do not coincide with each other and the appearance is remarkably impaired.

To form a protruding piece of the fabric, and to form a loop shape in which both ends are opposed to each other with a certain gap, and a thermoplastic synthetic resin is injection-molded in the gap to bond the fabric piece to the thermoplastic synthetic resin. A part was formed, and the both ends were joined by the joining part.

That is, the entire surface of the insert 3 made of a metal plate or the like is coated with a thermoplastic synthetic resin or rubber by extrusion coating or the like to form a coating layer 5, and the fabric 2 is attached to the entire outer peripheral surface of the coating layer 5. An opening trim blank 1 having a U-shaped cross section is formed. And both ends 12,1 of the opening trim material 1
Fabric protrusion pieces 12 and 12 'are formed on 2', respectively, and then both end portions 12a and 12b are formed into a loop shape matching the overall shape of the flange of the sunroof opening facing each other with a constant gap 13. Then, a thermoplastic synthetic resin is injection-molded in the gap 13 to form the joint portion 4 in which the protruding pieces 12a, 12b of the fabric are entangled with the thermoplastic synthetic resin, and the joint portions cause the end portions 12, 12 'to be joined. Are joined together to form the opening trim.
次に、前記結合部4の成形工程について説明する。Next, the step of forming the joint portion 4 will be described.
