In general, if the waste liquid is simply mixed with a fluorine compound, it can be easily removed by adding calcium hydroxide or the like to be precipitated as calcium fluoride. However, when it is present as borofluoride mixed with boric acid, its removal treatment becomes extremely difficult. The conventional method for treating borofluoride-containing waste liquid is to adjust the pH of the waste liquid to 1-2,
An aluminum salt (sulfuric acid band) or a calcium salt (calcium chloride) was added, heated at 80 ° C to 100 ° C for about 2 hours to cause hydrolysis, and then neutralized with lime milk.

When it was released into, it had to be diluted to clear the standard. Further, in the above processing method, since a heating step of heating to 80 ° C. to 100 ° C. is indispensable, there is a problem that the processing cost increases and a very dangerous work is involved.

Furthermore, it becomes hydroxide and precipitates. Aluminum hydroxide itself has a low solubility, but by being placed in the reaction in which ferric ion is reduced to ferrous ion, it becomes easier to dissolve in the waste liquid, for unknown reasons. It is considered that the borofluoride complex is decomposed and precipitated as calcium fluoride by lime milk. In this way, by mixing the ferric chloride waste liquid with the borofluoride-containing waste liquid, the decomposition of the borofluoride complex is promoted, and it can be precipitated as calcium fluoride. The amount of aluminum hydroxide added is important. As is clear from Examples 1 to 6 and Comparative Examples 1 and 2, 70 wt% or more of the amount of fluorine is effective, and optimally 80 wt% or more is preferable. Even if added excessively, no significant difference in processing time was observed (Example 6). In comparison with this, the addition amounts of the ferric chloride waste liquid and the iron powder affect the treatment time. That is, as is clear from Table 1, if the amount of aluminum hydroxide added is a predetermined amount or more, the treatment time is shortened as the amount of the ferric chloride waste liquid and the iron powder added increases. It should be noted that the reaction temperature was not heated and was a natural rising temperature, but the temperature did not rise so much, and the heat-resistant structure of the reaction tank was almost unnecessary. Although not as effective as aluminum hydroxide, aluminum or aluminum compounds such as aluminum sulfate and sodium aluminate may be used. Even with these aluminum and aluminum compounds, simultaneous treatment of the borofluoride-containing waste liquid and the ferric chloride waste liquid and improvement of the treatment rate were observed.
