The input operation by the keyboard is complicated and time-consuming, and there are many mistakes in the operation, which is a big obstacle for beginners. Further, conventional personal computers and electronic organizers are generally large in size because the keyboard part and the display part are independent. Transparent electrode type and optical touch panels are mainly used for pen input computers that can input characters, symbols, and other information by directly writing on the panel. These touch panels have problems that workability, durability, sensitivity, etc. remain, they are easily affected by the surrounding environment such as light, and malfunction, and it is difficult to display high-density information on the panel. In addition to a pen input computer, an electronic notebook and the like can be realized by applying a touch panel. The touch panel is required to detect a touch on the panel by a human finger, an object, or the like with quick responsiveness, and it is desired that the touch position be specified with high resolution. In addition to the above, the conventional touch panel mainly includes a resistance film type and an ultrasonic type. The resistance film method changes the resistance value of the transparent conductive film by touching the transparent conductive film (resistive film), and although it consumes low power, it has problems in response time, sensitivity, durability, etc. have. An example of an ultrasonic touch panel is a surface acoustic wave touch panel using a reflective array. This utilizes the fact that the surface acoustic wave is attenuated when it comes into contact with a panel in which the surface acoustic wave is excited in advance by using a wedge-shaped transducer, and has the advantage of being excellent in environmental resistance. On the other hand, the fabrication of the reflection array requires a high level of technology, and the work precision of the wedge-shaped transducer influences the function of the touch panel, and it has a difficulty in driving at a low voltage. In this way, the conventional touch panel has response time, resolution, durability, work precision,
It has problems in workability and mass productivity.

1, the display screen displayed in at least one type of color is provided on the other plate surface F2 of the non-piezoelectric substrate, so that the device can be made compact and lightweight and thin. Further, the information processing apparatus of the present invention includes ultrasonic wave transmitting / receiving means L 1 and L 2 and information processing means connected to the display screen, and the position X on the plate surface F1 contacted by the pen tip of the input pen. Information Y corresponding to can be displayed on the display screen. Each of the ultrasonic wave transmitting / receiving means is composed of ultrasonic devices T and R, and the ultrasonic device T is composed of a piezoelectric thin plate A provided with N interdigital electrode groups P i (i = 1, 2, ..., N). , The ultrasonic device R has N interdigital electrode groups Q i (i = 1, 1) corresponding to each interdigital electrode group P i .
2, ..., N) are provided on the piezoelectric thin plate B. Each of the interdigital electrode groups P i has at least one interdigital electrode P i-1.
(I = 1, 2, ..., N), and the interdigital electrode group Q i
Is at least one set of interdigital electrodes Q i-1 (i =
1, 2, ..., N). The interdigital electrodes P i-1 and Q i-1 have a structure in which the respective electrode period lengths continuously change along a direction parallel to the center line of the interdigital electrodes P i-1 and Q i-1 . At this time, the center line of the interdigital electrodes P i-1 and Q i-1 is a line that bisects the interdigital electrode in each interdigital electrode. Interdigital transducer P
A structure is adopted in which an electric signal having a frequency that continuously changes corresponding to the electrode period length of i−1 , for example, a linear chirp signal whose frequency changes linearly with time is input to the interdigital transducer P i−1. As a result, a surface acoustic wave of a first-order mode or a second-order mode or more having a wavelength substantially equal to the electrode period length is provided to the ultrasonic device T from the interdigital transducer P i-1 at a portion corresponding to each electrode period length. It is possible to continuously excite on the plate surface F1 of the contacting portion according to the electrode crossing width. At this time, as the electrode crossing width is larger, the surface acoustic wave can be excited over a wider range. Further, the two adjacent pairs of the interdigital transducers P i-1 are arranged so that the propagation directions of the respective surface acoustic waves are substantially parallel to each other, and the propagation paths of the respective surface acoustic waves are substantially adjacent to each other. Arranged to do so. Therefore, it is possible to evenly and uniformly excite the surface acoustic wave over a wide range on the plate surface F1. Furthermore, by adopting a structure in which the phase velocity of this surface acoustic wave is close to the propagation velocity of the surface acoustic wave in the non-piezoelectric substrate alone, the electrical energy applied from the interdigital transducer P i-1 is applied to the elastic surface. Not only can the degree of conversion into waves be increased, but also reflection and the like caused by mismatch of acoustic impedance at the interface between the piezoelectric thin plate A and the non-piezoelectric substrate can be eliminated. In this way, surface acoustic waves can be efficiently excited on the plate surface F1 with low power consumption and without applying a high voltage. As the non-piezoelectric substrate, glass materials such as Pyrex glass and polymer materials such as acrylic plate and polyimide plate are useful. By adopting a structure in which the interdigital electrodes Q i-1 are arranged so that the directional axes of transmission and reception of the surface acoustic waves are common to the interdigital electrodes P i-1 , that is, they are arranged to face each other, The surface acoustic waves excited on the surface F1 can be efficiently output as electric signals from the interdigital electrodes Q i-1 . At this time, an electric signal having a frequency substantially corresponding to the wavelength of each surface acoustic wave is continuously output from the interdigital electrode Q i-1 in the portion having the electrode cycle length substantially equal to the wavelength of the surface acoustic wave. The ultrasonic wave transmission / reception means L 1 and L 2 are the propagation paths D i-1 (i = 1) of the surface acoustic wave between the interdigital electrodes P i-1 and Q i-1 in the ultrasonic wave transmission / reception means L 1 . , 2, ..., N) and the propagation path D i-1 of the surface acoustic wave between the interdigital transducers P i-1 and Q i-1 in the ultrasonic wave transmitting / receiving means L 2 are orthogonal to each other. Is located in. In this way, when the position X on the plate surface F1 that is touched by the pen tip of the input pen is specified, the two propagation directions orthogonal to each other in the area on the plate surface F1 including the position X (referred to as X area). It can correspond to any of the crossover areas of the path D i-1 . If a part of the plate surface F1 comes into contact with the pen tip of the input pen, the surface acoustic wave corresponding to the contact position of the surface acoustic waves excited on the plate surface F1, that is, the position X is attenuated or disappears. . Therefore, since the electric signal output to the interdigital electrode Q i-1 in the portion corresponding to the X region is also attenuated or disappeared, the interdigital electrode Q i-1 corresponding to the X region is identified. Further, a structure for detecting the attenuated frequency component among the frequency components in the electric signal output to the interdigital transducer Q i-1 corresponding to the X region is adopted, and the attenuated frequency component is coordinated on the plate surface F1. By adopting the structure corresponding to, it is possible to specify the position X included in the X region more finely. At this time, the coordinates on the plate surface F1 are two-dimensional coordinates with two propagation paths D i-1 orthogonal to each other as axes. In addition, it is desirable that the frequency band output to the interdigital transducer Q i-1 be flatter. The flatter the band, the higher the detection sensitivity of the attenuation frequency component, the easier the signal processing, and the simpler the circuit configuration. . An example of the interdigital electrode having a flat frequency band structure is a hyperbolic interdigital electrode. Since the position X and the attenuation frequency component have a linear relationship in the hyperbolic interdigital transducer, the signal processing becomes easier. In this way, the information processing apparatus of the present invention has a short response time and good sensitivity. Note that the pen tip of the input pen needs to be a substance that is softer and more likely to absorb ultrasonic waves than the non-piezoelectric substrate. A person's finger or the like also has that characteristic and can function as an information processing device. The information processing means in the information processing apparatus of the present invention includes means for receiving the information W, means for storing the information Z including the information W, position X specifying means, and information Y corresponding to the specified position X. It includes information Y detection means for detecting from the information Z, information Y display means for displaying the detected information Y on a display screen, and means for transmitting the detected information Y. Further, the information Y display means includes means for displaying the information Y detected by the information Y detection means on the display screen for a predetermined time. By adopting the translucent structure as the non-piezoelectric substrate, the contents displayed on the display screen can be seen from the plate surface F1. When the pen tip of the input pen touches the plate surface F1, the information Y corresponding to the touched position X is detected from the information Z stored in the information Z storage means, and the detected information Y is immediately detected. Displayed on the display screen. That is, the information processing apparatus of the present invention employs a structure in which the display and the keyboard are integrated. A screen using liquid crystal or the like is useful as the display screen. Further, the information processing device of the present invention is also capable of information communication. Receive information W,
It is also possible to store and display it on the display screen, and it is also possible to transmit the detected information Y. In this way, the information processing apparatus of the present invention is further reduced in size and weight,
It has been promoted to be thinner and has a communication function, and the screen is clear, and even beginners can easily operate it. By adopting a structure in which the color of the information Y displayed on the display screen and the frequency band of the electric signal input to the interdigital transducer for input are adopted, the color bands are separately classified by switching the frequency band to the same location on the display screen. The information Y thus displayed can be displayed. That is, it is possible to display the color-coded information Y for each frequency band by touching the same location on the plate surface F1 for each frequency band. Therefore, the amount of information to be input is also increased. For example, if there are two types of frequency bands of electric signals input to the interdigital transducer P i-1 , it is possible to display two types of color information Y on the display screen. In this case, the type of frequency band of the electric signal input to the interdigital transducer P i-1 can be made to correspond to the mode order of the surface acoustic wave excited on the plate surface F1. That is, it is possible to make the electric signals in the frequency bands respectively corresponding to the surface acoustic waves of the first mode and the second and higher modes correspond to the color of the information Y displayed on the display screen. The information Z consists of information Y j (j = 1, 2, ..., N) corresponding to each position X j (j = 1, 2, ..., N) of the coordinates on the plate surface F1, and the position X Corresponds to one of the positions X j , and the information Y is one of the information Y j.
By adopting a structure corresponding to one, the information Y corresponding to the position X specified from the position X j by the position X specifying means can be selected from the information Y j .
At this time, the information Y j includes dots, lines, symbols, characters, numbers, pictures,
It consists of information such as illustrations, drawings or maps. That is,
By touching the position X on the plate surface F1, the information Y corresponding to the position X is detected from the information Y j and displayed on the display screen. When the information Y is a character, the character is displayed on the display screen, and when the information Y is a map, the map is displayed on the display screen. Further, when the information Y is a point or a line, a structure in which the information Y is displayed on the display screen for a predetermined time is also used, so that the locus formed by the continuous movement of the position X is displayed on the display screen. Can be displayed as is. That is, when a character or the like is written on the plate surface F1, the character is displayed as it is on the display screen. Further, new information formed by combining several pieces of information corresponding to several positions of the position X j can be stored and added to the information Y j . For example, it is possible to call a desired map on the display screen, save all of the text and symbols added from the plate surface F1 there, and send it to a third party or call it again later. .
The information Z is the position group X k (k = 1, 2,
..., N) corresponding information Y k (k = 1, 2, ...,
N), and each position group X k is composed of a locus formed by the movement of the position X on the plate surface F1, so that the information Y corresponding to the position group X k is converted into the information Y k . You can choose from the inside. At this time, the information Y k is in the model style of information such as lines, symbols or characters. That is, by touching the position group X k on the plate surface F1, the information Y corresponding to the position group X k is detected from the information Y k and displayed on the display screen. At this time, the information Y indicating the model style most suitable for the position group X k is selected from the information Y k . For example, when a character or the like is written on the plate surface F1, an exemplary character is displayed on the display screen regardless of the handwriting. Furthermore, it is also possible to store new information formed by a combination of several pieces of information corresponding to several pieces of the position group X k and add it to the information Y k . For example, it is possible to call a map received from a third party on a display screen, write a graph, a sentence, or the like on the display screen, save the map, send the map to the third party, or call the map again later.
In addition to the input pen and fingertips, the information processing apparatus of the present invention is provided with a plate surface F.
It is also possible to employ a laser pen that irradiates the laser light on the spot in a spot shape. By touching the plate surface F1 with such an input pen or laser pen, processing instructions, recognition of handwritten characters, character input such as kana-kanji conversion,
Even beginners can easily perform operations such as drawing of figures and pictures, line feed / insertion / deletion. An optional external keyboard can also be connected, allowing keyboard input. In addition, printer, external C
You can also connect RT etc. Each interdigital electrode group P i comprises at least two interdigital electrodes P i-1 and P i-2 , and each interdigital electrode group Q i corresponds to each of the interdigital electrodes P i-1 and P i-2. A structure composed of two sets of interdigital electrodes Q i-1 and Q i-2 can be adopted. At this time, in the plate surface F1, the portion of the interdigital electrode P i-1 having the longest electrode period length and the interdigital electrode P i-1
A portion of the interdigital electrode Q i-1 having the smallest electrode period length is arranged adjacent to each other, and a portion of the interdigital electrode Q i-1 having the largest electrode period length has the largest electrode period length of the interdigital electrode Q i-2 . A structure is adopted in which the small portion and the small portion are arranged next to each other. Moreover, the interdigital transducer P i-1
Frequency band of the electric signal input to the interdigital transducer P i-2
In addition to adopting a structure in which the frequency band of the electric signal to be input to is adopted, and a structure in which the electric signal in each frequency band is alternately or simultaneously input to the interdigital electrodes P i-1 and P i-2 , By adopting a structure in which the color of the information Y displayed on the screen and the frequency band of the electric signal input to the interdigital electrodes P i-1 and P i-2 are adopted, information of two types of colors is displayed on the display screen. It becomes possible to display. In this way, it is possible to increase the number of colors of information displayed on the display screen by increasing the number of interdigital electrodes included in the interdigital electrode groups P i and Q i . further,
The interdigital electrodes P i-1 , P i-2 , Q i-1 and Q i-2 are arranged so that the interdigital electrodes in which the frequency band of the input and output electric signals is high are inside each other, that is, the electrodes. They are arranged so that the distance between them becomes smaller. By adopting such a structure, it is possible to suppress the attenuation of surface acoustic waves excited on the non-piezoelectric substrate. This is because the surface acoustic wave of high frequency is excited to the non-piezoelectric substrate as the electrode period length becomes smaller,
This is to solve the problem that the higher the frequency of the surface acoustic wave, the more easily it is attenuated. At least two sets of interdigital electrodes Q i-11 (i = 1, 2, ..., N) and Q corresponding to each interdigital electrode P i-1 as the interdigital electrode group Q i.
A structure composed of i-12 (i = 1, 2, ..., N) can be adopted. At this time, the output terminals of the interdigital transducer Q i-11 are electrically connected to each other at the connection point N1, and the output terminals of the interdigital electrode Q i-12 are electrically connected to each other at the connection point N2. Therefore, each connection point N1
It becomes possible to sense the delayed electrical signal output to N2 and N2. Therefore, the circuit configuration is simplified. As means for inputting an electrical signal to IDT P i-1, an output connected to the input terminal of the interdigital electrodes P i-1 N
Switch S i-1 (i = 1, 2, ..., N) is provided,
It is possible to employ a switch control means for electrically connecting and disconnecting the switch S i-1 sequentially at a predetermined cycle. In this way, the electrical signal can be sequentially input to the interdigital electrode P i-1 at a predetermined cycle by turning on and off the switch S i-1 , so that the propagation path of the surface acoustic wave on the plate surface F1 is increased. (That is, the interdigital electrodes P i-1 and Q i-11
, And between P i-1 and Q i-12 ), for example, when the interdigital electrodes P 1-1 and Q 1-11 are contacted with a human finger, the interdigital electrodes P 1 Only when the electric signal is input to -1 , the delayed electric signal output to the connection point N1 is attenuated or disappears. Further, a structure for detecting the attenuated frequency component among the frequency components in the delayed electric signal output to the connection point N1 is adopted, and a structure for making the attenuated frequency component correspond to the coordinates on the plate surface F1 is adopted. As a result, the position X included in the X region can be specified more finely. The thickness of the piezoelectric thin plate A is equal to or less than the electrode period length of the interdigital electrodes included in the interdigital electrode group P i, and the thickness of the piezoelectric thin plate B is equal to or less than the electrode period length of the interdigital electrodes included in the interdigital electrode group Q i. And the interdigital electrode group P
A structure in which the electrode period length of the interdigital electrode included in i and the electrode period length of the interdigital electrode included in the interdigital electrode group Q i are set to be substantially equal to the wavelength of the surface acoustic wave in the first-order mode or the second or higher modes. By adopting it, not only can the degree of conversion of the electrical energy applied from the interdigital electrodes into surface acoustic waves be increased, but also the acoustic impedance mismatch at the interface between the piezoelectric thin plate and the non-piezoelectric substrate, etc. It is possible to remove reflection and the like caused by the above.
The ratio of the thickness d of the piezoelectric thin plate to the electrode period length of the interdigital transducer (that is, the wavelength λ of the surface acoustic wave) (d / λ)
The smaller the value, the greater the effect. Structure for securing to the plate surface F1 at the plate surface towards the piezoelectric sheet A and B, respectively interdigital electrodes P i and Q i are provided, i.e., non-piezoelectric substrate IDT group P i and the piezoelectric sheet A By adopting a structure in which the interdigital electrode group Q i is provided at the interface with the non-piezoelectric substrate and the piezoelectric thin plate B, the interdigital electrode group P i is provided.
Efficiently converts the electric energy applied to the surface acoustic waves into surface acoustic waves, and the surface acoustic waves are efficiently arranged into a comb-shaped electrode group Q i.
Can be converted into an electric signal. Piezoelectric thin plate A
And a structure in which a piezoelectric ceramic is adopted as B, and the direction of the polarization axis of the piezoelectric ceramic is parallel to the thickness direction,
Alternatively, by adopting a structure in which the direction of the polarization axis of the piezoelectric ceramic is parallel to the direction of the electrode fingers of the interdigital electrodes included in the interdigital electrode group P i or Q i , the primary mode can be efficiently applied to the plate surface F1. Alternatively, it is possible to excite surface acoustic waves in modes of second or higher order. P as piezoelectric thin plates A and B
By adopting a polymer piezoelectric film such as VDF, it is possible to efficiently excite a surface acoustic wave of a first-order mode or a second-order mode or higher on the plate surface F1.

It is made of Pyrex glass with a thickness of 1.9 mm. The piezoelectric ceramic thin plate 8 is made of TDK 101A material (product name) having a thickness of 230 μm. The piezoelectric ceramic thin plate 8 surrounds the edge of the non-piezoelectric substrate 7, and is fixed on one plate surface of the non-piezoelectric substrate 7 with an epoxy resin having a thickness of about 20 μm. A display screen 9 is fixed on the other plate surface of the non-piezoelectric substrate 7. The display screen 9 is connected to the display device. 3 and RY4 are made of the same material as the interdigital electrode TX1, have the same shape, and perform the same function. Each of the interdigital electrodes has an electrode cycle length of 260 μm to 390 μm, has 26.5 pairs of electrode fingers, and has an electrode crossing width of 23.4 mm. The input interdigital electrode and the output interdigital electrode in each of the interdigital electrodes are arranged so as to form a one-to-one pair with each other so that the directional axes of transmission and reception of the surface acoustic waves are common. That is, in FIG. 1, for example, the interdigital transducer T
X1 and RX1 are arranged so as to face each other at the portions having the same electrode cycle length. Further, the two interdigital electrodes adjacent to each other in each of the interdigital electrodes are arranged such that the propagation directions of the surface acoustic waves are substantially parallel to each other and the propagation paths of the surface acoustic waves are substantially adjacent to each other. . In this way, a structure is formed in which the surface acoustic waves are evenly propagated to the entire area of the plate surface of the non-piezoelectric substrate 7 surrounded by the piezoelectric ceramic thin plate 8 forming a frame structure. In this embodiment, each interdigital electrode has hyperbolic electrode fingers, but if the electrode period length is continuously changed, the same function is achieved even if the electrode fingers are linear. . FIG. 4 is a sectional view of the touch panel unit 1 of FIG.
The relationship between the interdigital electrodes TX1 and RX1 is shown.

This is the same as the relationship between 1 and RX1. In this embodiment, each interdigital electrode is provided on the non-piezoelectric substrate 7 side of the piezoelectric ceramic thin plate 8. FIG. 5 is a configuration diagram when the touch panel unit 1 is driven. When the touch panel unit 1 is driven, a linear chirp signal whose frequency changes with time is generated by a sweep oscillator, and the linear chirp signal is input to each of the interdigital transducers TX1, TX2, TX for input.

It is sequentially applied to the interdigital electrodes of the 1, T2, T3 and T4 groups. When a linear chirp signal is applied to the input interdigital transducer, only an electric signal having a frequency that substantially changes corresponding to the electrode period length (260 μm to 390 μm) of the input interdigital transducer is converted into a surface acoustic wave. .
In this case, to adopt at least two types of Delta] f 1 - 1 and Delta] f 1 - 2 as a frequency band of the linear chirp signal. The displacement component of the surface acoustic wave in the piezoelectric ceramic thin plate 8 also exists near the interface with the piezoelectric ceramic thin plate 8 in the non-piezoelectric substrate 7. Of the surface acoustic waves propagating through the non-piezoelectric substrate 7, the electrode cycle length (260 μm to 39
Only surface acoustic waves having a wavelength substantially equal to 0 μm) are converted into delayed electric signals and output from each output interdigital transducer. That is, the interdigital electrodes TX1, TX2, TX3,

The respective delayed electrical signals are received at 3 and RY4. At this time, by alternately inputting the electric signal to the interdigital electrodes of the T1, T2, T3 and T4 groups, the delayed electric signal is input to the interdigital electrodes RX1 and RY1.

The propagation paths (surfaces in the X direction) of the surface acoustic wave between and are parallel to each other. Further, the propagation paths of the surface acoustic waves (the propagation paths in the Y direction) between the interdigital electrodes TY1 and RY1, between TY2 and RY2, between TY3 and RY3, and between TY4 and RY4 are parallel to each other. is there. The X-direction propagation path and the Y-direction propagation path are orthogonal to each other. By connecting the interdigital electrodes RX1, RX2, RX3 and RX4 (hereinafter referred to as RX group), not only the circuit configuration is simplified but also delayed electric signals of the interdigital electrodes of the RX group are received in a duplicated form. And the interdigital electrode RY
By connecting 1, RY2, RY3 and RY4 (hereinafter referred to as RY group), not only the circuit structure is simplified, but also delayed electric signals of the interdigital electrodes of the RY group are received in a duplicated manner. Therefore, for example, the intersection of the surface acoustic wave propagation path between the interdigital transducers TX1 and RX1 and the surface acoustic wave propagation path between the interdigital transducers TY3 and RY3 is made softer than the non-piezoelectric substrate 7 and When contact is made with a substance that easily absorbs sound waves, the surface acoustic wave corresponding to the contact position disappears or is attenuated. Therefore, only when the electric signals are input to the interdigital electrodes of the T1 and T3 groups, the interdigital electrodes are provided. The delayed electrical signal output to RX1 and RY3 is attenuated. Further, by detecting the disappeared or attenuated frequency components of the frequency components of the delayed electric signals output to the interdigital electrodes RX1 and RY3, the contact position included in the intersection can be specified more finely. That is, the contact position can be clearly specified by reading the disappeared or attenuated frequency of the delayed electric signal appearing at the output interdigital electrode. In this way, the frequency of the delayed electric signal that has disappeared or attenuated among the delayed electric signals appearing on the interdigital electrodes of the RX group and the RY group is read, and the interdigital electrode (T
The contact position can be clarified by checking the interdigital transducers of the 1, T2, T3 or T4 group). Further, when a spot of laser light is applied to the propagation path of the surface acoustic wave on the non-piezoelectric substrate 7, the surface acoustic wave corresponding to the position of the spot becomes abnormal. Therefore, an abnormality also occurs in the delayed electric signal having the frequency component corresponding to the spot position. Thus, the position of the spot can be detected from the frequency of the delayed electric signal which is abnormal. That is, the abnormal frequency of the delayed electric signals appearing on the interdigital electrodes of the RX group and the RY group is read, and the interdigital electrodes (T1, T2, T3, or T4 group) to which the electric signal is input at that time are read. By checking either of the interdigital electrodes)
The position of the spot can be clarified. When the information processing apparatus of FIG. 1 including the touch panel unit 1 of FIG. 2 is driven, information corresponding to the contact position and the position of the spot appears on the display screen 9 according to a command from the computer.
The information on the display screen 9 can be seen through the non-piezoelectric substrate 7. In this way, when the propagation path of the surface acoustic wave propagating through the non-piezoelectric substrate 7 is contacted, the surface acoustic wave propagating along the propagation path is attenuated or disappeared, and accordingly, the display screen 9 is brought into contact with the contact position. Corresponding information appears. In addition, information of the form corresponding to the contact position for a predetermined time,
A system for displaying it on the display screen 9 is incorporated. In this way, for example, characters or the like are printed on the non-piezoelectric substrate 7
When the character is drawn on, the character can be displayed on the display screen 9. FIG. 6 is a characteristic diagram showing a velocity dispersion curve of a surface acoustic wave propagating through the non-piezoelectric substrate 7. The product (kd) of the wave number k of the surface acoustic wave and the thickness d of the piezoelectric ceramic thin plate 8 or the surface acoustic wave It is a figure which shows the phase velocity of each mode with respect to ratio (d / (lambda)) with respect to wavelength (lambda). However, piezoelectric ceramic thin plate 8
Is a plate surface (air side plate surface) of one of the piezoelectric ceramic thin plates 8 which is in contact with the non-piezoelectric substrate 7 (glass side plate surface) which is in an electrically open state and which is in contact with one side of air. And the glass side plate surface and the air side plate surface of the piezoelectric ceramic thin plate 8 are both electrically short-circuited. In the present embodiment, the plate surface of the piezoelectric ceramic thin plate 8 is coated with a metal thin film to electrically short the plate surface. In this figure, "short" indicates a short-circuit state and "open" indicates an open state. Surface acoustic waves have multiple modes. The zero-order mode is a fundamental Rayleigh wave, and when the kd value is zero, the zero-order mode matches the Rayleigh wave velocity of the non-piezoelectric substrate 7 and converges to the Rayleigh wave velocity of the piezoelectric ceramic thin plate 8 as the kd value increases. is doing. There is a cutoff frequency in the first and higher modes, and the kd values converge to the transverse wave velocity of the non-piezoelectric substrate 7 when the respective kd values are minimum. In this figure, the circles indicate measured values. FIG. 7 is a characteristic diagram showing a velocity dispersion curve of a surface acoustic wave propagating through the non-piezoelectric substrate 7, and is a diagram showing a phase velocity of each mode with respect to a kd value or a d / λ value. However, the piezoelectric ceramic thin plate 8 has a structure in which both the glass side plate surface and the air side plate surface of the piezoelectric ceramic thin plate 8 are in an electrically open state, and the glass side plate surface of the piezoelectric ceramic thin plate 8 is in an electrically shorted state. The air side plate surface was electrically open. In the zero-order mode, when the kd value is zero, it matches the Rayleigh wave velocity of the non-piezoelectric substrate 7, and converges to the Rayleigh wave velocity of the piezoelectric ceramic thin plate 8 as the kd value increases. There is a cutoff frequency in the first and higher modes, and the kd values converge to the transverse wave velocity of the non-piezoelectric substrate 7 when the respective kd values are minimum.
In this figure, the circles indicate measured values. FIG. 8 is a characteristic diagram showing the relationship between the effective electromechanical coupling coefficient k 2 and the kd value calculated from the phase velocity difference of the piezoelectric ceramic thin plate 8 under two different electrical boundary conditions. However, the piezoelectric ceramic thin plate 8 uses a piezoelectric ceramic thin plate 8 on which a glass-side plate surface is provided with interdigital electrodes (IDT) to electrically short the air-side plate surface. The higher order mode k 2 has a larger value than the zero order mode. Particularly in the first-order mode, k 2 = at kd = 1.8
It shows the maximum value of 17.7%. FIG. 9 is a characteristic diagram showing the relationship between the effective electromechanical coupling coefficient k 2 and the kd value calculated from the phase velocity difference of the piezoelectric ceramic thin plate 8 under two different electrical boundary conditions. However, the piezoelectric ceramic thin plate 8 uses a piezoelectric ceramic thin plate 8 on which a glass-side plate surface is provided with interdigital electrodes to electrically open the air-side plate surface. The higher order mode k 2 has a larger value than the zero order mode.
From FIGS. 6, 7, 8 and 9, the velocity of surface acoustic waves in the first and higher modes propagating through the non-piezoelectric substrate 7 in the touch panel section 1 of FIG. It can be seen that when equal, k 2 exhibits a maximum value.
From FIGS. 8 and 9, it can be seen that in the structure in which the interdigital electrodes are provided on the glass side plate surface of the piezoelectric ceramic thin plate 8, the degree of conversion of electric energy applied to the interdigital electrodes into surface acoustic waves becomes large. When a surface acoustic wave is excited on the non-piezoelectric substrate 7 in the touch panel unit 1 of FIG. 2, it is necessary to consider reflection or the like caused by mismatch of acoustic impedance at the interface between the piezoelectric ceramic thin plate 8 and the non-piezoelectric substrate 7. As a means for minimizing the reflection coefficient, the ultrasonic touch panel is designed so that the surface wave velocity propagating through the non-piezoelectric substrate 7 in the touch panel unit 1 of FIG. The touch panel unit 1 may be designed so that the ratio (d / λ) of the thickness d of the piezoelectric ceramic thin plate 8 to the wavelength λ of the surface wave is small. During the operation of the touch panel unit 1 of FIG. 2, the frequency band to the input interdigital transducer electrical signal Delta] f 1 - 1 or Delta] f 1 - 2 is applied, the two the frequency band Delta] f 1 - 1 and Delta] f 1 -2 for modes above 1st, eg 2 for each
It is possible to correspond to surface acoustic waves of the second and third modes. Thus, when applying an electrical signal of the frequency band Delta] f 1 -1 to the input interdigital transducer non-piezoelectric substrate 7
The second-order surface acoustic wave propagates in the
When the electric signal of 1-2 is applied, the surface acoustic wave of the third mode propagates to the non-piezoelectric substrate 7. Furthermore, the frequency band Δ
The color of the information displayed to f 1 -1 and Delta] f 1 and 2 on the display screen 9 and can be made to correspond. Therefore, even when the same location on the non-piezoelectric substrate 7 is contacted, it is possible to display information of different colors by using different frequency bands. FIG. 10 is a characteristic diagram showing an example of the relationship between the contact position and the frequency. However, when making contact with the non-piezoelectric substrate 7, a contact pen made of rubber having a pen tip of 2 mm in diameter was used. Further, this contact pen is fixed to a fixed object via a spring in order to keep the contact pressure constant. On the other hand, the non-piezoelectric substrate 7 is fixed on a movable stage. This stage is moved by a minimum of 2 μm by a stepping motor. Non-piezoelectric substrate 7
When reading the frequency of the dip corresponding to the upper contact position, the frequency of the dip at that time was measured by a network analyzer while the contact pen was brought into contact with the non-piezoelectric substrate 7 and the stage was moved. This embodiment shows the result when the contact pen is moved perpendicularly to the propagation direction of the surface acoustic wave, that is, the result of drawing a straight line perpendicular to the propagation direction of the surface acoustic wave on the non-piezoelectric substrate 7. It can be seen that the contact position and the frequency have a good linear relationship. The error in the contact position is within 2 mm of the pen tip diameter, and good linearity is maintained. The limit of resolution is determined by the order of wavelength,
When the pen tip is moved below the wavelength, the frequency shows a constant value. The minimum resolution of the touch panel unit 1 in FIG.
It is 54 mm. In this way, it was confirmed that the contact position and the frequency have a good linear relationship and the resolution is high. FIG. 11 is a characteristic diagram showing the contact position when the numeral 9 is input to the non-piezoelectric substrate 7 using the contact pen. However, the contact positions are the interdigital electrodes RX1, RX2, RX3.
It is detected based on the frequency of the dip corresponding to RX4, RY1, RY2, RY3 or RY4 and the characteristic of FIG. This result shows that the touch panel unit 1 in the information processing apparatus of the present invention can sufficiently handle character input. FIG. 12 is a partially enlarged plan view showing the second embodiment of the touch panel unit 1. The touch panel unit 1 shown in this embodiment has a structure in which the interdigital electrodes of FIG. 2 are replaced by two sets of hyperbolic interdigital electrodes, and the two interdigital electrodes have different electrode cycle lengths. Have. In addition, in the two sets of interdigital electrodes, a structure in which one part of the interdigital electrode having the largest electrode cycle length and the other part of the other interdigital electrode having the minimum electrode cycle length are arranged adjacent to each other Have. Further, the relationship between the input and output interdigital electrodes is arranged such that the interdigital electrodes in which the frequency band of the input and output electric signals are high frequency are inside each other, that is, the inter-electrode distance is small. . Therefore, for example, the interdigital transducer TX
Structures in which 1 is replaced by TX 1-1 and TX 1-2 are provided. In this way, the touch panel unit 1 of this embodiment
The interdigital electrodes TX 1-1, TX 1 - 2, TX 2-1, TX 2-2,
TX 3-1, TX 3 over 2, TX 4-1, TX 4 over 2, TY 1-1, TY
1 over 2, TY 2-1, TY 2 over 2, TY 3-1, TY 3 over 2, TY 4-1,
TY 4 over 2, RX 1-1, RX 1 over 2, RX 2-1, RX 2 over 2, RX
3-1, RX 3-2, RX 4-1, RX 4-2, RY 1-1, RY 1 - 2,
RY comprises 2-1, RY 2-2, RY 3-1, the RY 3-2, RY 4-1 and RY 4-2. During the operation of such a touch panel unit 1, since it is possible frequency band applying different electrical signals respectively to each of two pairs of input interdigital transducer, for example, a frequency band in the IDT TX 1-1 An electric signal of Δf1 and an electric signal of frequency band Δf2 can be applied to the interdigital electrodes TX 1-2 . Moreover, each of Δf1 and Δf2 can be further divided into at least two frequency bands. Thus, for example Delta] f 1 - 1 and Delta] f 1 - 2 for .DELTA.f1, .DELTA.f2
Delta] f 2 - 1 and Delta] f 2 - 2 is provided for. That is, in the touch panel unit 1 of the present embodiment, it is possible to sequentially apply at least four kinds of electric signals having frequency bands to the input interdigital transducer. Therefore, the colors of information displayed on the display screen 9 can be further increased.

きる。According to the information processing apparatus of the present invention, at least two ultrasonic wave transmitting / receiving means L 1 and L 2 are provided on one plate surface F1 of the non-piezoelectric substrate, and the other plate of the non-piezoelectric substrate is provided. Since the display screen displayed in at least one kind of color is provided on the surface F2, and further the ultrasonic wave transmitting / receiving means L 1 and L 2 and the information processing means connected to the display screen are provided, the input pen is provided. Plate surface F touched by the pen tip of
The information Y corresponding to the position X on 1 can be displayed on the display screen. Since the pen tip of the input pen is made of a material that is softer than the non-piezoelectric substrate and easily absorbs ultrasonic waves, the information Y can be easily input. For example, a person's finger or the like also has the characteristic and can function as an information processing device. Each of the ultrasonic wave transmitting / receiving means is composed of ultrasonic devices T and R, and the ultrasonic device T is composed of a piezoelectric thin plate A provided with N interdigital electrode groups P i (i = 1, 2, ..., N). , The ultrasonic device R has N interdigital electrode groups Q i (i = 1, 2, ...) Corresponding to each interdigital electrode group P i .
, N) on the piezoelectric thin plate B. Interdigital electrode group P
i is at least one set of interdigital electrodes P i-1 (i =
1, 2, ..., N), and each interdigital electrode group Q i has at least one interdigital electrode Q i−1 (i = 1,
2, ..., N). Interdigital electrodes P i-1 and Q i-1
The interdigital transducers P i-1 and Q i-1 have a structure in which the cycle length of each electrode continuously changes along the direction parallel to the center line. At this time, the interdigital electrodes P i-1 and Q i-1
The center line of is the line that bisects the interdigital electrode in each interdigital electrode. That is, the interdigital transducer P
i-1 and Q i-1 form a structure in which the electrode period length continuously changes substantially along the direction of the electrode finger. By adopting a structure for inputting an electric signal having a frequency that varies substantially correspondingly continuously the interdigital electrodes P i-1 of the electrode period length in interdigital electrodes P i-1, depending on the respective interdigital periodicity An electrode on the plate surface F1 of the portion in contact with the ultrasonic device T from the interdigital electrode P i-1 in the open portion and a surface acoustic wave of a first mode or a second or higher mode having a wavelength substantially equal to the electrode period length. It is possible to continuously excite according to the cross width. Also,
The two adjacent pairs of the interdigital transducers P i-1 are arranged so that the propagation directions of the surface acoustic waves are substantially parallel to each other, and the propagation paths of the surface acoustic waves are substantially adjacent to each other. Is located in. At this time, an electric signal having a frequency substantially corresponding to the wavelength of each surface acoustic wave is continuously output from the interdigital transducer Q i-1 at a portion having an electrode cycle length substantially equal to the wavelength of the surface acoustic wave. Propagation path D i-1 of the surface acoustic wave between the interdigital transducers P i-1 and Q i- 1 in the ultrasonic wave transmitting / receiving means L 1 (i = 1, 2, ...,
N) and the interdigital transducer P in the ultrasonic wave transmitting / receiving means L 2 .
By adopting a structure in which the propagation path D i-1 of the surface acoustic wave between i-1 and Q i-1 is orthogonal to each other, on the plate surface F1 contacted by the pen tip of the input pen. When the position X is specified, a region (referred to as an X region) on the plate surface F1 including the position X can be made to correspond to an intersecting region of two propagation paths D i−1 orthogonal to each other. If a part of the plate surface F1 is contacted, the surface acoustic wave corresponding to the contact position (position X) among the surface acoustic waves excited on the plate surface F1 is attenuated or disappears. Therefore, since the electric signal output to the interdigital electrode Q i-1 in the portion corresponding to the X region is also attenuated or disappeared, the interdigital electrode Q corresponding to the X region.
i-1 is revealed. Furthermore, a structure is adopted in which the attenuated component is detected in the frequency components of the electric signal output to the interdigital transducer Q i-1 corresponding to the X region, and the attenuated frequency component is made to correspond to the coordinates on the plate surface F1. By doing so, the position X in the X region can be specified more finely. As information processing means, means for receiving the information W, means for storing the information Z including the information W, position X specifying means, and information Y corresponding to the specified position X are detected from the information Z. The information Y detection means, the information Y display means for displaying the detected information Y on the display screen, and the means for transmitting the detected information Y are included. The information Y display means includes means for displaying the information Y detected by the information Y detection means on the display screen for a predetermined time. That is, a structure in which a display and a keyboard are integrated is adopted, and a screen using liquid crystal or the like is useful as a display screen. Further, the information W can be received, stored, and displayed on the display screen, and the detected information Y can be transmitted. In this way, the information processing apparatus of the present invention is further reduced in size, weight, and thickness, and has a communication function. The screen is clear, and even a beginner can easily operate it. Further, the type of frequency band of the electric signal input to the input interdigital transducer can be made to correspond to the mode order of the surface acoustic wave excited on the plate surface F1. That is, it is possible to make the electric signals in the frequency bands respectively corresponding to the surface acoustic waves of the first mode and the second and higher modes correspond to the color of the information Y displayed on the display screen. The information Z corresponds to the respective positions X j (j = 1, 2, ..., N) of the coordinates on the plate surface F1 and the information Y j (j =
1, 2, ..., N), the position X corresponds to one of the positions X j , and the information Y corresponds to one of the information Y j. The information Y corresponding to the position X specified from the position X j by the specifying means can be selected from the information Y j . At this time, the information Y j is information such as points, lines, symbols, characters, pictures, illustrations, drawings or maps. That is, the position X on the plate surface F1
By touching, the information Y corresponding to the position X is detected from the information Y j and displayed on the display screen. Information Y
If is a map, the map is displayed on the display screen,
When the information Y is a point or a line, by using a structure in which the information Y is displayed on the display screen for a predetermined time, the locus formed by the continuous movement of the position X is directly displayed on the display screen. Can be displayed. That is, the plate surface F
When a character or the like is written on 1, the character is displayed as it is on the display screen. The information Y corresponds to the position group X k (k = 1, 2, ..., N) on the plate surface F1 and information Y k (k =
1, 2, ..., N), and each position group X k has a trajectory formed by the movement of the position X on the plate surface F1.
The information Y corresponding to k can be selected from the information Y k . The information processing apparatus of the present invention can also support a communication function, can transmit characters written on the display screen to a third party, and can receive a desired map from the third party and display it on the display screen. It is also possible to display in. When making contact with the plate surface F1, it is possible to employ a laser pen that irradiates the plate surface F1 with laser light in a spot shape, in addition to the input pen and the fingertip. By touching the plate surface F1 with such an input pen or laser pen, processing instructions, recognition of handwritten characters, character input such as kana-kanji conversion, drawing of figures and pictures, calling of maps, line feed / insertion / deletion, etc. The operation of can be easily performed even by a beginner. An optional external keyboard can also be connected, allowing keyboard input. Further, a printer, an external CRT, etc. can be connected. In the information processing apparatus of the present invention, each interdigital electrode group P i is composed of at least two interdigital electrodes P i-1 and P i-2 ,
The interdigital electrode group Q i includes the interdigital electrodes P i-1 and P i-2.
Two pairs of interdigital electrodes Q i-1 and Q corresponding to each
i-2 , and the portion of the interdigital electrode P i-1 having the largest electrode period length and the portion of the interdigital electrode P i-2 having the smallest electrode period length are arranged adjacent to each other. It is possible to adopt a structure in which the portion of Q i-1 having the largest electrode period length and the portion of the interdigital electrode Q i-2 having the smallest electrode period length are arranged adjacent to each other. Further, the frequency band of the electric signal which is input to the frequency band and the interdigital electrodes P i-2 of the electric signal which is input to the interdigital electrodes P i-1 adopts a different structure, interdigital electrodes P i-1 and Adopting a structure in which electric signals of respective frequency bands are input to P i-2 alternately or simultaneously, the color of the information Y displayed on the display screen and the interdigital electrode P
By adopting a structure in which the frequency bands of the electric signals input to i-1 and P i-2 are made to correspond to each other, it is possible to display the two types of color information on the display screen almost at the same time. Therefore, it is possible to increase the number of colors of information displayed on the display screen by increasing the number of interdigital electrodes. Further, the interdigital electrodes P i-1 , P i-2 , Q i-1 and Q i-2 are arranged such that the interdigital electrodes in which the frequency band of the input and output electric signals are high are inside each other. That is, the electrodes are arranged so that the distance between the electrodes becomes small. By adopting such a structure, it is possible to suppress the attenuation of surface acoustic waves excited on the non-piezoelectric substrate. Interdigital electrode group Q
At least two sets of interdigital electrodes Q i-11 (i = 1, 2, ..., N) corresponding to each interdigital electrode P i-1 as i
And Q i-12 (i = 1, 2, ..., N) can be used. At this time, the interdigital transducer Q i-11
Of the interdigital transducers Q i-12 are electrically connected to each other at the connection point N1, and the output terminals of the interdigital transducer Q i-12 are electrically connected to each other at the connection point N2. It is possible to detect the delayed electric signal output to the. Therefore, the circuit configuration is simplified. IDT P to i-1 as a means for inputting an electrical signal, an output end interdigital electrodes P i-1 of N respectively connected to the input-end switch S i-1 (i = 1,2 , ... … 、
N) is provided, and the switch control means for electrically connecting and disconnecting the switch S i-1 sequentially at a predetermined cycle can be adopted. In this way, the electrical signal can be sequentially input to the interdigital electrode P i-1 at a predetermined cycle by turning on and off the switch S i-1 , so that the propagation path of the surface acoustic wave on the plate surface F1 is increased. Among them, for example, when the interdigital electrodes P 1-1 and Q 1-11 are brought into contact with each other with a human finger, the connection point N 1 is provided only when an electric signal is input to the interdigital electrode P 1-1. The delayed electric signal output to is attenuated or disappears. Further, a frequency component attenuated in the frequency components of the delayed electric signal output to the connection point N1 is detected, and the attenuated frequency component is made to correspond to the coordinates on the plate surface F1. Can be specified in more detail. Then, the electrode period length of the interdigital electrodes included in the interdigital electrode group P i and the interelectrode period length of the interdigital electrodes included in the interdigital electrode group Q i are set to those of the surface acoustic waves of the first mode or the second or higher modes. By adopting a structure that makes the wavelengths almost equal, it is possible not only to increase the degree of conversion of the electrical energy applied from the interdigital electrodes into surface acoustic waves, but also at the interface between the piezoelectric thin plate and the non-piezoelectric substrate. It is possible to remove the reflection and the like caused by the mismatch of the acoustic impedance of the. In addition,
The smaller the ratio (d / λ) of the thickness d of the piezoelectric thin plate to the electrode period length of the interdigital transducer (that is, the wavelength λ of the surface acoustic wave), the greater the effect. By adopting a structure in which the piezoelectric thin plates A and B are fixed to the plate surface F1 by the plate surface on which the interdigital electrode groups P i and Q i are provided, respectively, the electrical voltage applied to the interdigital electrode group P i can be obtained. Energy can be efficiently converted into a surface acoustic wave, and the surface acoustic wave can be efficiently converted into an electric signal in the interdigital transducer group Q i . A structure in which piezoelectric ceramics are used as the piezoelectric thin plates A and B and the direction of the polarization axis of the piezoelectric ceramic is parallel to the thickness direction, or the direction of the polarization axis of the piezoelectric ceramic and the interdigital electrode group P i or Q i By adopting the structure in which the direction of the electrode fingers of the interdigital transducers included is made parallel, it is possible to efficiently excite the surface acoustic waves of the first-order mode or the second-order or higher modes on the plate surface F1. Piezoelectric thin plate A
By adopting a polymer piezoelectric film such as PVDF as B and B, it is possible to efficiently excite the surface acoustic wave of the first mode or the second or higher modes on the plate surface F1.
