This developing device (1) is brought into pressure contact with a developing roll (6) comprising a hopper (3) having a one-component magnetic toner (2), a magnet roll (4) and a plastic sleeve (5), and a developing roll (6). A bias voltage is applied to the developing roller (6) and the layer forming member (7) for forming and triboelectrifying toner in a thin layer on the developing roller (6), and the charged toner is electrostatic latent image on the photoconductor (8). It is roughly composed of a DC superimposing AC power source (9) for developing.

In the configuration of the developing device (1), the toner, which is forcibly electrically ejected, reciprocates in the space between the photoconductor (8) and the developing roll (6) during development as the developing time elapses. However, it is not electrically attracted to the photoconductor (8),
In addition, the floating toner (2a) that is not sucked into the developing roll (6) loses its place and scatters inside the copying machine, stains the inside of the copying machine, and adheres to the paper passing through the inside of the copying machine to form a good image. If I couldn't get it, something went wrong.

Further, for example, the developing roll (6) may be deformed due to a change in the clearance between the photoconductor (8) and the developing roll (6) due to deformation of the plastic sleeve (5) due to the pressure of the layer forming member (7). ) And the layer forming member (7) during triboelectrification, the developer which is not sufficiently charged or does not fly and is not attracted from the developing roll (6) to the photoconductor and is released as it is from the developing roller (6). 2b) caused the same trouble as above.

According to the present invention, a magnet for capturing floating or freed one-component developer is provided in the lower part of the developing device so that the magnetic force of the magnet is lower than the magnetic force of the opposing developing roll and is directed to the developing roll, and is captured by the magnet. A developing device characterized in that a developer spike is formed between the developing roll and the magnet without being brought into contact with the opposed photoconductor, and is collected in the developing device. Therefore, the above problem can be solved.

As shown in the cross section of FIG. 1 of the developing device of the present invention, the developing device (10) of the present invention comprises a hopper (3) having one-component toner (2) and a magnet roll (4). ), A reinforcing material (12), a conductive adhesive (13) and a plastic sleeve (5) are pressed against a developing roll (14) and a developing roll (14), and charged toner is placed on the developing roll (14). A DC superimposing AC power supply (9) for applying a bias voltage to the layer forming member (7) and the developing roll (14) formed in a thin layer to develop the charged toner into an electrostatic latent image on the photoconductor (8). In the developing device, the magnet (15) fixed to a holding member (16) for capturing floating toner (2a) or free toner (2b) is provided in a housing (11) below the developing device. Installed in the magnet (15)
The toner (2c) captured by the toner is collected in the developing device without coming into contact with the opposing photoconductor (8).

Here, the developing roll (14) is composed of a magnet roll (4), a plastic sleeve (5) and a reinforcing material (12), the plastic sleeve having a wall thickness of 1 mm and an outer diameter of φ30.5 mm,
It is a phenol resin with a specific resistance of 10 6 -10 10 Ωcm and a relative permittivity of 20 with carbon and glass fiber added, with a thickness of 0.5 mm inside and an Al pipe reinforcement of 27.5 mm outside diameter ( 1
2) is adhered by a conductive adhesive (13).
Further, the magnet roll (4) and the reinforcing material (12) are electrically connected, and the shaft of the magnet roll (4) has a DC voltage of 50 to 400 V, a frequency of 2.4 KHz, and a high frequency alternating voltage of 2.4 KV. Is applied by the developing bias power source (9). Since the reinforcing material (12) and the sleeve (5) are electrically conductively bonded, a developing bias is surely applied to the sleeve (5) as a developing electrode.

Also, the distance between the developing roll (14) and the photoconductor (8) is 100 μm to 500 μm.
Although there is a gap of μm and development is performed in a non-contact manner, the amount of deformation of the sleeve (5) is reduced by 1/2 to 1/3 compared to the device shown in FIG. Since it is about 30 μm, the unevenness in the image quality due to this is eliminated.
Further, although the generation of floating toner (2a) or free toner (2b) is improved between the photoconductor (8) and the developing roll (14), it is still insufficient. Therefore, by providing the magnet (15), Capture (2a) and (2b).

Here, the magnetic force of the magnet (15) is made lower than the magnetic force of the developing roller (14) facing each other, the distance between the magnet (15) and the photoconductor (8), the magnetic force and length of the magnet (15), thickness, polarity. By attaching the holding member (16) to the magnet by adjusting the angle and distance to the developing roll (14) and controlling and adjusting the direction of the magnetic force, the spikes of the captured toner (2c) are directed to the developing roll (14) side. The collected toner (2d) is transferred and adsorbed to the surface of the sleeve (5) so as not to come into contact with the photoconductor (8), and is collected in the hopper (3) by rotation of the developing roll (14). Where the magnet (1
The magnetic force of 5) is 200 G, the polarity is N, the polarity of the magnetic poles of the non-rotating magnet roll (4) facing each other is S, the magnetic force is 650 G, the thickness of the magnet (15) (1 mm), and the developing roll (14) The angle θ = 72 °, and the material of the holding member (16) was an iron plate.

Further, the combination of the magnet (15) and the holding member (16) can be configured as shown in FIG. This is a magnet (23) with the magnetic poles reversed in the middle of the height of the magnet.
And (24) are used, and they are provided adjacent to the holding member (22) whose θ in FIG. 1 is 90 °. Here, the direction of the lines of magnetic force is regulated to the developing roll (14) side, the rising direction of the capture toner (2c) is constant, and the capture toner (2c) is the photoconductor (8).
The recovered toner (2d) is transferred / adsorbed on the surface of the sleeve (5) without being in contact with the toner and is collected in the hopper (3).

Further, the reinforcing material (12) in the above-mentioned embodiment is not always necessary, but it is effective when the developing roll is bent.

In the toner catching means comprising the magnet (15) and the holding member (16) in FIG. 1 and the toner catching means shown in FIG. 2, the toner is prevented from adhering to the surface of the holding member facing the photoconductor (8). The type and shape of the material of the holding member is not limited to the above. Further, this holding member is not essential, the floating toner (2a) and the released toner (2b) are captured by appropriately selecting the shape of the magnet and the positions of the poles, and the toner is brought into contact with the photoconductor (8). It is also possible to directly provide only the magnet having the magnetic poles for forming the trapped toner spikes for transferring only to the developing roll without being provided directly to the housing (11).
