2 (A), (B) and (C) are plan views showing a conventional surface mount type piezoelectric vibrator, and the positions of the electrode terminals are indicated by broken lines. 3A and 3B are cross-sectional views showing a state in which a conventional container is mounted on a substrate. The figure (A) shows the case cut along the plane parallel to the two electrode terminals, and the figure (B) shows the case cut along the plane orthogonal to each other.

As described above, the piezoelectric vibrator mounting portion 2 in the case is composed of the rectangular or circular case 1, the lid 2 and the piezoelectric vibrator 3.
The direction connecting the two parts was the same as the direction connecting the two electrode terminals on the back surface of the case.

As described above, since the conventional container has the mounting portion and the electrode terminal in the same direction, when mounted on the substrate as shown in the cross-sectional views of FIGS. The stress caused by the difference in the coefficient of thermal expansion between the two is directly applied in the supporting direction of the vibrator and easily transmitted to the vibrator inside the case, which increases the equivalent series resistance R 1 of the vibrator, In some cases, important characteristics such as frequency shift may be deteriorated. The problem to be solved by the present invention is to reduce the stress transmitted to the vibrator.

The means adopted by the present invention to solve the above-mentioned problem is that the direction connecting the two mounting portions is arranged at a position orthogonal to the direction connecting the two electrode terminals.

According to the present invention, by disposing the mounting portion and the electrode terminal at a position orthogonal to each other, the stress generated between the electrode terminals of the case at the time of mounting is as shown in the cross-sectional views of FIGS. Bending in the extreme direction does not act in the direction connecting the two mounting portions, that is, it is possible to avoid the characteristic deterioration of the vibrator.

An embodiment of this invention will be described below. (A) of FIG.
(B) and (C) are plan views showing an embodiment of the present invention.
1A shows the case where the electrode terminals 5 are arranged along the short side direction of the rectangular case 1, and FIG. 1B shows the case where the electrodes are arranged at the corners of the case in the direction. Also, FIG. 1 (C)
Shows the case where the case has a curved surface on its outer peripheral portion. Both are viewed from the surface of the case, and the electrode terminal portions are shown by broken lines. Although not shown, the portion indicated by the broken line shows the position of the electrode terminal 5 on the back surface electrically derived from the vibrator mounting portion 4. In this way, the mounting portion 4 of the piezoelectric vibrator 3 and the electrode terminal 5 are arranged at positions orthogonal to each other.

2.When mounted on a portable thin board such as an IC card, the board may bend due to carelessness in use, but the stress received by the container due to this is also difficult to be transmitted to the vibrator, and the characteristics are similar to the above. Can be prevented from deteriorating.
