略同一構成をもち、 第2記録フォーマットで記録再生がなされる第2磁気テ
ープを前記第1カセット筐体と略同一外形寸法の第2カ
セット筐体内に収納し、且つ、誤挿入防止用溝部を前記
第1カセット筐体の誤挿入防止用溝部と対応して前記第
2カセット筐体の底面に形成した第2記録フォーマット
用のテープカセットであって、 前記第2カセット筐体の誤挿入防止用溝部の長さを、前
記第1カセット筐体の誤挿入防止用溝部の長さより目視
で確認できる程度短く、且つ、所定の長さに形成してな
り、 前記第2カセット筐体を第1記録フォーマットを採用し
た第1装置に挿入した際には、前記第1装置の前方に設
けた誤挿入防止検出部材が該第2カセット筐体の誤挿入
防止用溝部の終端に当接してそれ以上の挿入を阻止する
ことにより誤挿入と判断できる一方、前記第2カセット
筐体を第2記録フォーマットを採用した第2装置に挿入
した際には、前記第1装置の誤挿入防止検出部材よりも
奥方に設けた前記第2装置の誤挿入防止検出部材が該第
2カセット筐体の誤挿入防止用溝部の終端に当接するこ
となく所定の位置までの挿入を許容することにより正常
挿入と判断できるよう構成したことを特徴とするテープ
カセット。1.
