Abstract
Description
Claims (20)
- 1.照射されると、測定可能な強度の蛍光及びレイリー成分を有する後方散乱発 光の可能な目のレンズを有する患者において分子変化を測定する装置であって、 a.該目のレンズを照射し、それによって該目のレンズに該照射に反応した後方 散乱発光を生じさせる手段と、b.該後方散乱発光に応答し、該後方散乱発光を 集光する手段と、 c.該集光手段に接続されており、該後方散乱発光をその蛍光及びレイリー成分 に分離する手段と、d.該分離手段に接続されており、(i)該分離された蛍光 及びレイリー成分のそれぞれの強度を検出し、及び(ii)該検出された強度の 比率を求める手段と、を備えた装置。
- 2.前記照射手段が、 a.レーザー、非線形周波数倍増装置に接続されたレーザーダイオード、発光ダ イオード、及び光学フィルタに接続された広帯域の源からなる群から選択される 光源と、b.前記光源からの光に光学的に応答し、該光を集光するレンズと、 c.該集光された光に光学的に応答し、焦点を有し、焦点が約15マイクロメー ターよりも大きいアパチャーを規定するレンズ系と、 を備えた請求項1に記載の装置。
- 3.前記測定された分子変化が糖尿病及び前糖尿病状態からなる群から選択され た状態の診断を補助し、かつ、前記検出された強度の比率が、患者が糖尿病の場 合は約15より大きく、患者が前糖尿病状態の場合は約15より大きく、患者が 糖尿病ではない場合は約13よりも小さい、請求項1に記載の装置。
- 4.前記測定された分子変化が糖尿病及び前糖尿病状態からなる群から選択され た状態の診断を補助し、かつ、前記検出された強度の比率が、患者が糖尿病の場 合は約15より大きく、患者が前糖尿病状態の場合は約15より大きく、患者が 糖尿病ではない場合は約13よりも小さい、請求項2に記載の装置。
- 5.オペレータが目のレンズを視認することのできるように前記後方散乱発光に 応答する接眼レンズをさらに備えた、請求項4に記載の装置。
- 6.前記分離手段が少なくとも1つのダイクロイックビームスプリッタを備えた 、請求項5に記載の装置。
- 7.前記検出及び求める手段が、少なくとも1つのシングルチップシリコン検出 器を備え、かつ、前記後方散乱発光の前記蛍光成分の波長が約460−1500 nmの間である、請求項6に記載の装置。
- 8.前記検出及び求める手段が、さらに増幅器を備えた、請求項7に記載の装置 。
- 9.前記照射手段が、さらに照射光の出力レベルを調節する手段を備えた、請求 項8に記載の装置。
- 10.照射されると、測定可能な強度の蛍光及びレイリー成分を有する後方散乱 発光の可能な体積を有する目のレンズを有する患者において分子変化を測定する 装置であって、a.選択された波長及び出力レベルを有する光を供給するレーザ ーと、 b.該供給された光に光学的に応答し、該光の該出力レベルを調節する手段と、 c.減衰手段に光学的に接続されており、該光を集光するレンズと、 d.該レンズに光学的に接続されており、該集光された光を受ける第1の光ファ イバーと、 e.該第1の光ファイバーに光学的に接続され、約15マイクロメートルより大 きな焦点距離を有するアパチャーを規定し、該目のレンズの選択された約200 マイクロメートルの体積に該集光された光を与えることにより該目のレンズに該 与えられた光に反応して後方散乱発光を生じさせるレンズ系と、 f.(i)該集光された光が与えられる該目のレンズの選択された体積を含む焦 点を有し、(ii)該後方散乱発光に応答し、該後方散乱発光を集光する、コレ クタと、g.該コレクタに光学的に接続され、該集光された発光を受け取る第2 の光ファイバーと、 h.該コレクタ手段に接続され、該後方散乱発光をその蛍光及びレイリー成分に 分離する手段と、i.該分離手段に接続され、(i)該分離された蛍光及びレイ リー成分のそれぞれの強度を検出し、(ii)該検出された強度の比率を求める 手段と、 を備えた装置。
- 11.前記波長が約406.7nmであり、前記分離手段が分光計であり、かつ 、前記検出及び求める手段がコンピユータを備えた、請求項10に記載の装置。
- 12.オペレータが該目のレンズの該選択された体積を視認することができるよ うに前記後方散乱発光に応答する接眼レンズをさらに備え、及び前記測定された 分子変化が糖尿病、前糖尿病状態、及び白内障からなる群から選択された状態の 診断を補助する、請求項11に記載の装置。
- 13.患者が糖尿病の場合は前記検出された強度が約15よりも大きく、患者が 前糖尿病状態の場合は約15であり、患者が糖尿病でない場合は約13よりも小 さい、請求項12に記載の装置。
- 14.前記分離手段が少なくとも1つのダイクロイックビームスプリッタを備え た、請求項10に記載の装置。
- 15.オペレータが該目のレンズの該選択された体積を視認することができるよ うに前記後方散乱発光に応答する接眼レンズをさらに備え、及び前記測定された 分子変化が糖尿病、前糖尿病状態、及び白内障からなる群から選択された状態の 診断を補助する、請求項14に記載の装置。
- 16.前記検出された強度の比率が、患者が糖尿病の場合は約15より大きく、 患者が前糖尿病状態の場合は約15よりも大きく、患者が糖尿病ではない場合は 約13よりも小さい、請求項15に記載の装置。
- 17.照射されると、測定可能な強度の蛍光及びレイリー成分を有する後方散乱 発光が可能な組織を有する患者において分子変化を測定する方法であって、 a.該組織を照射し、それによって該組織に該照射に反応して後方散乱発光を生 じさせる工程と、b.該後方散乱発光をその蛍光及びレイリー成分に分離する工 程と、 c.核分離された蛍光及びレイリー成分のそれぞれの強度を検出する工程と、 d.該検出された強度の比率を求める工程と、を備えた方法。
- 18.前記照射工程が、 a.波長約406.7nmの光を発するために、レーザー、非線形周波数倍増装 置に接続されたレーザーダイオード、発光ダイオード、及び光学フィルタに接続 された広帯域の源からなる群から選択された光源を供給する工程と、b.焦点を 有し、焦点が約15マイクロメーターよりも大きいアパチャーを規定するレンズ 系を使用して該光を集光する工程と、 を備えており、 さらに、糖尿病及び前糖尿病状態からなる群から選択された状態の診断を補助す るために、少なくとも1つの予め選ばれた値に対して前記検出された強度の比率 を比較する工程を備えた、請求項17に記載の方法。
- 19.前記検出工程が約460−1800nmの間の波長で分離された蛍光成分 を検出する工程を備え、前記比較工程が前記検出された強度の比率を2つの予め 選ばれた値である、13及び15と比較する工程を備え、該比率が13よりも小 さければ患者は選択された状態を有していない見込みであると診断され、該比率 が15よりも大きければ患者は該選択された状態を有している見込みであると診 断され得る、請求項18に記載の方法。
- 20.前記分離工程が、少なくとも1つのダイクロイックビームスプリッタを用 いて前記後方散乱発光を分擁する工程を備えた、請求項19に記載の方法。
