Abstract
Description
Claims (29)
- 1.止血処理を必要とする部位に配置する止血栓(10)の製造方法であって、 ほぼ円筒面形の形成器具(32)に対して止血材料のシート(12)を複数回巻 き、その長手方向軸線に沿って貫通する開口(16)を有する巻かれた止血栓( 10)を作る工程と、 その後に前記形成器具(32)から巻かれた止血栓(10)を外す工程とを有す ることを特徴とする方法。
- 2.前記形成器具(32)から止血栓を外す前に前記巻かれた止血栓(10)を 長手軸線方向に圧縮する工程を更に有することを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法 。
- 3.前記軸線方向への圧縮工程が、約10度〜約45度の角度で栓(10)の先 端にテーパ(15)を形成する工程を含むことを特徴とする請求項2記載の方法 。
- 4.前記止血材料がコラーゲン、止血ゼラチン、変性ポリグリコール酸をベース とする材料およびトロンビン(thrombin)から成る群より選択されるこ とを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。
- 5.前記止血材料がコラーゲンであることを特徴とする請求項3記載の方法。
- 6.前記コラーゲンから成るシートの厚さが、約0.010インチ(0.025 4cm)乃至約0.020インチ(0.0508cm)であることを特徴とする 請求項5記載の方法。
- 7.前記シートの厚さが約0.014インチ(0.03556cm)乃至約0. 016インチ(0.04064cm)であることを特徴とする請求項6記載の方 法。
- 8.前記コラーゲンから成るシートの密度が、約0.032g/inch2(0 .00496g/cm2)乃至約0.042g/inch2(0.00651g /cm2)であることを特徴とする請求項5記載の方法。
- 9.前記コラーゲンから成るシートの密度が、約0.037g/inch2(0 .00574g/cm2)乃至約0.038g/inch2(0.00589g /cm2)であることを特徴とする請求項8記載の方法。
- 10.止血処理を行う必要がある部位に配置する止血栓(10)の製造方法であ って、 (a)ほぼ円筒形の形成器具(32)に対して第1の密度を有する止血材料の第 1シート(26)を複数回巻き、その際に形成器具(32)に巻いた最初の巻き が、その後で巻かれる巻きと整合しないようにして、これにより前記形成器具( 32)上の前記第1シート(26)のウェッジ(25)を露出させておく工程と 、 (b)前記形成器具(32)に対して、前記第1シート(26)よりも大きな第 2の密度を有する止血材料の第2のシート(28)を、前記第1シート(26) のウェッジ(25)に重ねるようにして複数回巻き、これによりその長手軸線に 沿って貫通する開口(16)を有する2重の密度をもつ巻かれた止血栓(20) を製造する工程と、 (c)前記形成器具(32)からこのように形成された巻かれた止血栓(20) を外す工程 とを有する方法。
- 11.前記形成器具(32)から止血栓を外す前に前記巻かれた止血栓(20) を長手軸線方向に圧縮する工程を更に有することを特徴とする請求項10記載の 方法。
- 12.前記軸線方向への圧縮工程が、約10度〜約45度の角度で栓(20)の 先端にテーパ(15)を形成する工程を含むことを特徴とする請求項11記載の 方法。
- 13.前記止血材料がコラーゲン、止血ゼラチン、変性ポリグリコール酸をベー スとする材料、トロンビン(thrombin)およびこれらのいづれか2つの 組み合わせから成る群より選択されることを特徴とする請求項10記載の方法。
- 14.前記止血材料がコラーゲンであることを特徴とする請求項12記載の方法 。
- 15.前記コラーゲンから成る第1および第2の各シートの厚さが、約0.01 0インチ(0.0254cm)乃至約0.020インチ(0.0508cm)で あることを特徴とする請求項14記載の方法。
- 16.前記シートの厚さが約0.014インチ(0.03556cm)乃至約0 .016インチ(0.04064cm)であることを特徴とする請求項15記載 の方法。
- 17.前記コラーゲンから成る第1シート(26)の密度が、約0.032g/ inch2(0.004969/cm2)乃至約0.0429/inch2(0 .00651g/cm2)であり、前記コラーゲンから成る第2シート(28) の密度が、約0.095g/inch2(0.01473g/cm2)乃至約0 .115g/inch2(0.01783g/cm2)であることを特徴とする 請求項14記載の方法。
- 18.前記コラーゲンから成る第1シート(26)の密度が、約0.037g/ inch2(0.005749/cm2)乃至約0.0389/inch2(0 .00589g/cm2)であり、前記コラーゲンから成る第2シート(28) の密度が、約0.105g/inch2(0.01628g/cm2)乃至約0 .110g/inch2(0.01705g/cm2)であることを特徴とする 請求項17記載の方法。
- 19.止血処理を必要とする部位に配置する止血栓(10)にして、前記栓(1 0)が複数回巻かれた少なくとも1つの止血材料の巻かれたシート(12)を有 し、栓全体の長手軸線に実質的に沿って開口(16)を有することを特徴とする 止血栓(10)。
- 20.一端に約10度から約45度の角度のテーパ(15)が形成されているこ とを特徴とする請求項19記載の止血栓(10)。
- 21.前記止血材料がコラーゲン、止血ゼラチン、変性ポリグリコール酸をベー スとする材料およびトロンビン(thrombin)から成る群より選択される ことを特徴とする請求項19記載の止血栓(10)。
- 22.前記止血材料がコラーゲンであることを特徴とする請求項21記載の止血 栓(10)。
- 23.前記栓が実質的に単一の密度を有する止血材料から成る単一シート(12 )で構成されていることを特徴とする請求項19記載の止血栓(10)。
- 24.前記止血材料が、約0.032g/inch2(0.00496g/cm 2)乃至約0.042g/inch2(0.00651g/cm2)の密度を有 するコラーゲンであることを特徴とする請求項23記載の止血栓(10)。
- 25.前記コラーゲンが、約0.037g/inch2(0.00574g/c m2)乃至約0.038g/jnch2(0.00589g/cm2)の密度を 有することを特徴とする請求項24記載の止血栓(10)。
- 26.前記栓(20)が、実質的に第1の密度を有する止血材料から成る第1の 巻かれたシート(26)と、実質的に第2の密度を有する止血材料から成る第2 の巻かれたシート(28)とにより構成され、前記第1と第2の巻かれたシート (26、28)が互いに縦に並んで配置されていることを特徴とする請求項19 記載の止血栓(20)。
- 27.前記第1の巻かれたシート(26)と前記第2の巻かれたシート(28) との止血材料がコラーゲンであることを特徴とする請求項26記載の止血栓(2 0)。
- 28.前記第1の巻かれたシート(26)のコラーゲンの密度が、約0.032 g/inch2(0.00496g/cm2)乃至約0.042g/inch2 (0.00651g/cm2)であり、前記第2の巻かれたシート(28)のコ ラーゲンの密度が、約0.095g/inch2(0.01473g/cm2) 乃至約0.115g/inch2(0.01783g/cm2)であることを特 徴とする請求項27記載の止血栓(20)。
- 29.前記第1の巻かれたシート(26)のコラーゲンの密度が、約0.037 g/inch2(0.00574g/cm2)乃至約0.038g/inch2 (0.00589g/cm2)であり、前記第2の巻かれたシート(28)の密 度が、約0.105g/inch2(0.01628g/cm2)乃至約0.1 10g/inch2(0.01705g/cm2)であることを特徴とする請求 項28記載の方法。
