Abstract
Description
Claims (17)
- 1.エレクトロルミネッセンス装置であって、正の電荷担体を注入し得る第1の 電荷担体注入層πと、可溶性の共役重合体であって、励起された際に所定の波長 の放射を発するように選択されたバンドギャップを有する半導体共役重合体の第 1の層と、負の電荷担体を注入し得る第2の電荷担体注入層と、前記層によって 電界をかけることを可能とする手段と、第2の電荷担体注入層と第1の層との間 に配置された、不溶性半導体共役重合体の第2のバリヤ層とを備えることを特徴 とするエレクトロルミネッセンス装置。
- 2.請求項1記載のエレクト。ルミネッセンス装置において、第1の電荷担体注 入層がインジウム−酸化錫(ITO)であることを特徴とするエレクトロルミネ ッセンス装置。
- 3.請求項1または2記載のエレクトロルミネッセンス装置において、第2の電 荷担体注入層がカルシウムであることを特徴とするエレクトロルミネッセンス装 置。
- 4.請求項1、2または3のいずれかに記載のエレクトロルミネッセンス装置に おいて、第2の層が前駆体から共役重合体へと熱変換により変換されたものであ ることを特徴とするエレクトロルミネッセンス装置。
- 5.請求項1、2、3または4のいずれかに記載のエレクトロルミネッセンス装 置において、第2の重合体層も放射を発し得るものとし、第1および第2の層の 厚さが、これらの一部が該装置の発光帯域に少なくとも存在するよう選択される ことを特徴とするエレクトロルミネッセンス装置。
- 6.請求項1乃至5のいずれかに記載のエレクトロルミネッセンス装置において 、第2のバリヤ層が、PPVおよびPPVの前駆体共重合体から調製される共重 合体およびポリ(2,5−ジメトキシ−p−フェニレン−ビニレン)PDMeO PVよりなる群から選択されることを特徴とするエレクトロルミネッセンス装置 。
- 7.請求項1乃至6のいずれかに記載のエレクトロルミネッセンス装置において 、第1の層が、MEHPPV、ポリ(2−メトキシ−5−(2−メチルベンチロ キシ)−1,4−フェニレンビニレン)、ポリ(2−メトキシ−5−ベンチロキ シ−1,4−フェニレンビニレン)、およびポリ(2−メトキシ−5−ドデシロ キシ−1,4−フェニレンビニレン)よりなる群から選択されるポリ(2.5− ジアルコキシフェニレンビニレン)であることを特徴とするエレクトロルミネッ センス装置。
- 8.請求項1乃至7のいずれかに記載のエレクトロルミネッセンス装置において 、半導体共役重合体の第1の層と第2のバリヤ層との間に第3の層を備え、第3 の層が発光性の半導体共役重合体であることを特徴とするエレクトロルミネッセ ンス装置。
- 9.請求項8記載のエレクトロルミネッセンス装置において、第3の層が、テト ラヒドロチオフェニウム(THT)残留性基前駆体重合体から加工されたPPV であることを特徴とするエレクトロルミネッセンス装置。
- 10.請求項8記載のエレクトロルミネッセンス装置において、第1の電荷担体 注入層に隣接する前駆体から変換された不溶性の共役重合体の第4の層があるも のとすることを特徴とするエレクトロルミネッセンス装置。
- 11.エレクトロルミネッセンス装置の製造方法であって、正の電荷担体を注入 するための第1の電荷担体注入層を設け、前記電荷担体注入層の上に、第1の溶 剤の溶液中で可溶性の重合体の第1の層を付着させ、 第2の溶剤の溶液中で前駆体の形態の第2の層を付着させ、装置を熱処理し、こ れにより前駆体を不溶性であるその重合体へと変換し、負の電荷担体を注入する ための第2の電荷担体注入層を付着させる、工程を含むことを特徴とするエレク トロルミネッセンス装置の製造方法。
- 12.エレクトロルミネッセンス装置の製造方法であって、正の電荷担体を注入 するための第1の電荷担体注入層を設け、当該または最後の1つの可溶性の重合 体層の上にバリヤ層を付着させ、前記バリヤ層は、不溶性で頑丈な半導体共役重 合体からなり、前記バリヤ層の上に、負の電荷担体を注入するための第2の電荷 担体注入層を付着させる、 工程を含むことを特徴とするエレクトロルミネッセンス装置の製造方法。
- 13.請求項11または12記載のエレクトロルミネッセンス装置の製造方法に おいて、第2の層を乾燥した後に前駆体の第3の層を載置する工程を更に含み、 その後に熱処理工程を実施して第2および第3の層の前駆体をそれらの共役重合 体へと変換することを特徴とするエレクトロルミネッセンス装置の製造方法。
- 14.請求項11、12または13のいずれかに記載の製造方法において、重合 体および当該またはそれぞれの前駆体を載置する工程をスピンコートにより行う ことを特徴とするエレクトロルミネッセンス装置の製造方法。
- 15.請求項11記載の製造方法において、可溶性の重合体の第1の層を、クロ ロホルム、ジクロロメタンのようなハロゲン化炭化水素、テトラヒドロフランの ようなエーテル、シクロヘキサノンのようなケトンよりなる群から選択される第 1の溶剤の溶液中でMEHPPVとすることを特徴とするエレクトロルミネッセ ンス装置の製造方法。
- 16.請求項10または14記載の製造方法において、.前駆体の形態の第2の 層を、メタノールおよび水よりなる群から選択される溶液中のPPVとすること を特徴とするエレクトロルミネッセンス装置の製造方法。
- 17.請求項11乃至15のいずれかに記載の製造方法によって製造したことを 特徴とするエレクトロルミネッセンス装置。
